Egg Screening

The reason why up to 75% of embryos fail to implant may be due to abnormalities in the embryo. CARE was involved in pioneering research to screen for abnormalities in all 23 pairs of chromosomes in the cell (instead of only 6 – 8 as being done in other clinics). CARE is the first clinic in the world to offer this screening using Polar Body Array CGH in clinical practice. This enables the selection of only embryos from chromosomally normal eggs for transfer.

Reproductive Immunology

Dr George Ndukwe, who was mentored by the late Professor Alan Beer when at the University of Chicago Medical School, USA, has developed a successful Reproductive Immunology Programme at CARE over the last eight years. This RI programme helps couples worldwide with recurrent IVF/ICSI failures and recurrent miscarriage.
