| Hello Lovely ladies – I need to pick your brains!
Had 1st IVF/ICSI cycle 2001 but unfortunately misc at 12 weeks. Being the paranoid android (& having read Professor Lesley Regan’s bk on misc) I asked my gynae for tests & discovered I have reduced Protein S levels.
Had 2nd IVF/ICSI last year & fragmin (like clexane) was prescribed which I started inj from emb transfer but no joy this time. Professor Lesley Regan’s book recommends use of heparin from detection of pregnancy sac. We are due to have a 3rd bash this year & am not clear in my own mind re timing. Have contacted clinic & am awaiting response.
Would be really interested to hear anyone else’s experience.
Satsuma x
|

| Hi Satsuma
I have had heparin on 2 cycles. I saw Mr Raj at St Marys Hospital ( he works alongside Prof Reegan) He did a test called Thrombin-elastograph which showed that my blood has raised clot strength. He recommended I take Heparin 3 days prior to ET. However, I have also seen Prof Beer for immunology issues and he has told me to take Heparin from day 6 of stimms I think. My last cycle I had FET and started it about 5 days before ET upon advise from my consultant.
Hope this helps.
Good luck
Anna
X |

| Satsuma:
Like Tessie, I started taking clexane following ET, but I'm on 40mg (prescribed by the Lister). I'm now almost 26 weeks pregnant and have been advised to continue with the clexane through week 34. The dose is high -- but my doctor thinks it's best to continue on this level rather than reduce to 20 since i seem to tolerate it well and it seems to be "working".
Good luck! |
