I was saying to DH last night it is definately the most stressful thing I have ever done from a mental and emotional point of view, it takes over your thoughts during every waking hour, and some of the hours you should be asleep ha ha! I don't think men fully understand that which is why it is so nice to chat on here, this forum has kept me sane! Hopefully it will all be worth it in the end though!
Keep in touch, let me know when you get started xxx |

I think that the 2 week wait must be the hardest and most stressful, i found the bits before quite stress free and easy, my dp was more stressed than me! But i dont think i will be very good if i get as far as you. I will just be scared in case it doesnt work.
Your right about it being nice to beable to chat on here, by dp says i am sad!!! But i enjoy it and its nice to beable to talk to other ladies who are going through the same. Friends and family dont really understand the same do they.
I will let you know as soon as af arrives!
Speak soon Marie x x |

Thats brilliant news Marie, things are moving at last!!!
I am going to test tomorrow, I cant stand it any longer and I will be 14 days post EC.
I have no signs of AF arriving, but I have a bad feeling about things and I don't know why, so I want to find out at weekend so if it is bad news I can deal with it over the weekend instead of on a work day.
I will let you know in the morning.

hi kitty, it can get a bit boring sometimes but make the most of it! You wont be bored soon. Shouldnt be too long for your sil either, will be nice for your 2 to grow up together.
Emma, i hope your feeling better today, i read about someone else and they tested negative everyday up until the day before otd so there is still some hope. Thinking of you

Hi Marie,
I'm fine thanks, bored cus DH is working away until Wednesday. My sil was induced last night, she's just had 3rd lot of gel today at 5pm and she's only had one contraction so far! She's 2 weeks overdue today.
I can't wait to meet Lewis now, hope i don't go overdue, i'm getting impatient now. He's very active lately.
Good luck on your tx, bet you can't wait.
Love Kitty xxxx |

morning to you both, nice to hear from you again emma, not heard from you in a while. Hope you had a good time and relaxed while you were away!! Are you getting impatient? I would be too tho. Why dont you phone care and ask them, i wouldnt have thought it would lower the chance. You have had a proper bleed now so would think next month would be ok. Phone and see what they say. I start injecting next thurs 16th. The day i go on hol!
Glad your sil getting there now kitty, shouldnt be long now her waters have broke.
I think ive got to think positive havent i? Im really exited now too. Havent been doing anything tho to get prepared. Only just sarted taking pregnacare! I dont eat too bad either but could prob do with a bit more fruit. What did you do when you were having your treatment?

Hi Emma,
Lovely to hear from you, hope you had nice time away. Won't be long until you start again, May or June are not long now. Really hope it works this time.
Hi Marie,
My sil had 15 hours of labour and gave birth at 11.30 am this morning to baby girl 10lbs 13, she tore when delivering and baby had to be suctioned out so heads abit cone shaped, lol! My bro said baby looks 1 month old already.
I just can't wait until it's me, they only ttc for 6 months and conceived, they had only been together 4 years. I've been with DH 15 years ( by the way i'm only 31, that length of time makes me sound older than i am, lol), we started ttc in 2004 when we got married and tried for 4 years before having ivf. I know i'm lucky to finally be having a baby but it still annoys me how easy they've had it and beat me to it! I never thought my younger bro would be a parent before me! All i can remember is day i had my 8 week scan and they had secret 12 week scan same day and i rang to tell my bro we'd seen a heartbeat and he told me their news, i was shocked to say the least as she said she didn't want kids, i was polite and asked to speak to her to congratulate her and he said she was too emotional to speak to me! Too emotional, i'm the one who'd just been for an 8 week scan after ivf! How emotional is it to have sex for 6 months and conceive! Stupid mare! Sorry if i sound bitter.
When i had my tx, i gave up drink week before i started injections, i took pregnacare, had acupuncture once a week and hour before and after ET, ate healthy, drank bottled still water, cut out all coffee and tea. Whilst stimming i drank 100% pressed pineapple juice, brazil nuts, organic full fat milk and plenty of water and carried on with this in 2ww but stopped drinking pineapple juice in 2nd week of 2ww. I was off work for the whole cycle and took it really easy in 2ww. Other girls it has worked for went to work though and were more active in 2ww but i followed my acupuncturists advice as per Zita West.
Good luck, won't be long now, Kitty xxxx |

hi kitty, you dont sound bitter at all!!! My sister is exactly the same, she has 3 kids already and is only 26. Had all 3 by the time she was 22! I think with her 1st it took 2 months, the 2nd 3 months then she split with the dad. with the 3rd she met him almost straight away and as soon as they decided to try she was pregnant the 1st month! She miscarried tho at 6 weeks. She never even had another bleed and was pregnant again!!! Its so annoying. I was with my sons dad from when we were both 17 and we had him when i was 20, took me 6 months to concieve. We still get on really well and hes really good with josh. Have been with my dp for nearly 6 years now and been ttc for 4 1/2 years, its so frustrating isnt it. You were really lucky for it to work 1 st time.
Oh my god over 10lb!! That is huge. Not surprised she tore. I was in labour for 17 hrs and had the suction & forceps but he still wouldnt come out, had casearean in the end. The sunction really marked his head tho and made it coned shaped. Hope there all ok. Will not be long til its your turn, hope Lewis isnt that big! Have they said if he is going to be big?
I think i will take your advice and try the pinapple & milk, did want to try accapuncture too but might be too late now. If it doesnt work this time might try it next but got to stay positive so shouldnt think like that should i. |

Hi all, the consultant advised waiting till June so think I have too really because if it fails I will blame that, just really impatient to try again, surrounded by mums with babies, when I take my DS to school I get asked all the time because he is six when I am having another it really makes me want to scream they have no idea!!!! I don't think we can help being bitter when it happens so easily for everyone else but I try to focus on how special they will be when we eventually get them!!!
Have you got a birth plan Kitty? I had one that totally went out of the window and I ended up having an emergency section. Dont know about you Marie but I would just recommend really listening to your body. I think on your first you are scared of the unknown and dont want to push things because you have not done it before, but mums really do know best and if for example I had my time again I would have insisted on a section much earlier.
Its so good to hear success stories like yours Kitty, I find it really hard to keep positive I just can't see it ever happening for me, do you feel like that sometimes Marie??

hi emma, i think if care has advised you to wait then probably you are right listening to them, you prob would end up blaming yourself if it didnt work, i know i would. Its not long anyway, were nealry in may!
My mum was with me too when i was in labour and told the doctors from the start i should be having a section, she had problems with her births and didnt want the same to happen to me plus im only small and knew i wouldnt beable to do it naturally but they wouldnt listen. They said after if i had any more babies i will always have to have a section.
I too feel like you emma, i can never imagine myself with another baby, i really try to think positive and want it so much. Its so hard wanting something and not being able to get it. I really hope it works for us this time. Have you thought how many times you will try emma? I always said i am only going to try once but if it doesnt work again this time i will try again! and prob again!! when do you stop? But hopefully it will work next time, fingers crossed.

Hi Marie, I always said looking at the 1 in 3 success rate I would have to try 3 times and then re assess. Its so hard because there are so many success stories on here but then so many stories of women who just keep going and I don't know how they do it, financially or emotionally?? I would probably keep going but my DH says 3 times is enough, so not sure what will happen really, I just have to hope I get lucky before then, 2 more goes left!!!! Dont know about you but I have found myself thinking ahead and worrying about immune issues etc, I try not to but dont understand why 2 good quality embies did not stick??? This whole experience is so hard!!!!
