Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all OK.
Thanks for your concern.
I am OK, still bleeding, been up to my GP this morning who phoned CARE and they have advised him to do a blood Hcg today and again on thurs, this will give us a comparative of the two to see whether the levels are rising, dropping or static, if static or decreasing not good but if rising then good.
It is another long wait ... but at least there is the possibility that I may either still be pregnant with both foetuses or one of them or worst case scenario no longer pregnant.
I did a Clear Blue digital this morning which has changed from Pregnant "1-2" weeks yesterday to Pregnant "2-3" weeks today, this has given me a little bit of hope, as I am assuming this detected more Hcg.
So I will take it easy for now, continue my pessaries and call CARE on Friday with my results.
Love to all and all the best with your treatments,
Nicole xx

Hi Nicole,

If the Clear Blue digital has changed to "2-3" that must be a good sign!!! I'm keeping everything crossed for you and hope that the blood tests show a good result.

Yes take it easy - put those feet up, and try and relax if at all possible.

Bye for now.

Hi ladies - what a scorcher

Nicole glad to hear that Clear Blue is looking good and that your GP can help too.

Molly and Roz hope that you are both doing ok.

I had ec today, slept all the way through which was totally weird. Anyway out of 4 follicles got 4 eggs which I thought was fair enough and then got a phone call to say only 2 mature so felt a bit pants really. Tomorrow will find out if they have fertilized with ICSI. Hope these two are little fighters. As we only have 2 mature eggs we have decided not to do CGH.
Will do lots of praying tonight. Please send me some good fertilizing vibes.

Hi everyone,

Astra - keeping everything crossed for you that you have two lovely embryos this time tomorrow.

Molly - good luck for your scan, hoping things are moving along nicely for you.

Lori - hope you got home safely and are putting your feet up now!

Nicole - hope your HCG test goes ok tomorrow too.

I'm ok, done day 7 of down regs today, no side effects really apart from a bit Evil or Very Mad but that's normal for this time of the month (poor DH). Wondering if AF will be on time!

Thinking of you all,

Hi All,
VERY bad day for me today, loads and loads of bleeding with abdominal cramps, Clear Blue down from "2-3" to "1-2" again.
I think Hcg is just a formality now so I can give CARE the results and get my follow up appointment.
It is a very sad day for us, we are grieving.
Astra, good luck to your little eggs. x
Thank you everyone for your support,
Love and best wishes to you all,
Nicole xx

Dear all

Brandy, I don't think we've 'spoken' before but I just wanted to wish you all the best and say I'm so sorry to hear you are having such a bad time. Do let us know how you get on.

Molly - thanks for the info re DHEA. Knowing that I might even give it a go myself! Are you stimming at the mo? Hope you are feeliing OK - do you know roughly when ec will take place?

Roz - same to you, hope all goes well. Do you think you'll be in for ec this time next week?

Astra - fingers crossed for you. It's definitely a quality and not quantity game so I hope you have two great-looking embryos there. Smile Smile

Had a sweltering day at Alton Towers yesterday. Had a great time but heavens knows how we got there - our ageing Micra (('Mikey') limped, stuttered and stalled all the way there and virtually conked out 3 miles from home....more ££££! Crying or Very sad

Crying or Very sad lots of love, best wishes, positive thoughts, good vibes.....etc etc Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Nicole, big hug, don't know what to say. This process is so cruel. I'm still hoping for a miracle for you.

Helen - wow you've really made me panic!!!! EC next week Shocked I'm still waiting for AF, then I have to phone CARE on day 1 and book in for scan 7 days ish later to confirm down-regulation, then I've got umpteen days of stims to go through (can't remember how long it took all those years ago but remember lots of scans and bloods) ... panic panic !!! I think it'll be a good couple of weeks yet! Glad you had a good time at Alton Towers, even if it did finish your car off Smile

Hi Roz

Sorry I made you panic!

I misread day 7 of down regs for day 7 of stims! Doh! This sunshine has addled my brain good and proper.

Off to browse some car dealer websites - totally alien to me, I ought to let DH sort it out. We are hoping for a really good deal - like a brand new car worth £10k for £3k Shocked

Hi ladies

Nicole so sorry hun that you are going through this. Really hoping that things turn around for you. x

Hi Roz glad that down reg is going nicely, especially as the hot weather can make us a bit extra bothered anyway

Helen hope you find a new car soon, we got ours from motorpoint and it was loads cheaper than a normal dealer.

Molly hope you are doing ok

I got the call today to say one egg fertilized and if it divides ok will have ET tomorrow morning so now its all down to this little one. Got to start uterogestan tomorrow - never used this one before - and some other drugs and up the prednisolone. Its been quite nice being almost meds free for a couple of days.

Helen - phew! I even re-read my protocol in case it had been changed to a fast-trak one since last time I cycled Very Happy definitely still got at least a couple of weeks!

Nicole - sorry it's looking grim for you, big hug.

Molly - how's things? And Lori ... hoping you're ok too,

Hello Everyone,

Nicole I'm so sorry you're having such a tough time. This whole process can be really horrible and so traumatic. I totally sympathise with you and hope you get through it as best you can. I hope things are resolved for you one way or the other soon.

Astra - good luck for ET!! Hope it goes well.

Roz - hope downregging is still going ok.

Lori - hope you had a good trip back.

I had a scan today. I don't know what you all think, but in the past whenever I've started stimming, almost straight away I can feel "something" in the ovary department. This time not so much and so I was concerned I wouldn't have as many follies as before (previous occasions I had 18, 12 and 11). I was right - there were about 3 worth counting and 4 tinky tiny ones. Not sure if my age is finally creeping up on me or if it's the DHEA doing something. We saw George and he didn't seem too concerned. He said it's still early days, but they've upp'ed my Menopur from 1 to 2. Next scan on Saturday so we'll have to wait and see.

Bye for now.

Molly

Hi Everyone,
I HOPE YOU ARE ALL WELL.
Astra, how did it go ?
Went to my GP for results today .... OMG !!! My HCG levels had trebbled, we were shocked to say the least, but I had been feeling a bit of abdominal cramping prior to our appointment and when I got home, another big fat clot and more bleeding ... phoned CARE who said we needed to have another blood test tomorrow as this could be the second embryo giving up and my levels may decrease in 48 hours .... so the wait continues, I can't believe the torture.
I want an answer just so we can move on, I have mourned and cried and bargained ... how much more?
I will let you all know the result tomorrow, I don't want to be hopeful because I don't want to deal with the pain I thought I was controlling.
Lots of love,
Nicole xx

God Nicole, you're really going through the mill, I hope things are still on the up for you tomorrow.

Molly - hope your scan goes ok tomorrow, I don't know how they work out how much stimms we need - I'm on 3 Menopur from the offset which sounds a lot?

Hi all

Nicole fingers crossed for you hun x

Molly sending you lots of follicle growing vibes and good luck for your next scan. Have you always been on the gonal f and menopur mix or were your other cycles with different stimms?

Roz I was on 3 menopur on my second fresh cycle, think you can actually go up to 6 ampoules so 3 is fine.

Had ET today with my one lovely embie, its already got 5 cells at day 2 so I reckon this one is keen. George who is my consultant anyway did the transfer and it was fine, felt a bit crampy in the hours that followed but seems to settling down. Lots more drugs to take over the next couple of weeks and already am feeling their bloating effects.

Glad the ET went well for you Astra!! Hope your embie is making itself nicely at home. Sending you lots of sticky baby dust Smile

Roz- I've been on different doses of stimms, but when I was at UCH I was on 4 menopur. Are you taking Gonal too?

Each clinic seems to prescribe something different it seems. I've only been on Gonal/Menopur mix with CARE. With Guy's it was just Gonal and with UCH just Menopur, so who knows how they decide.

Better go to bed - up at 5am to get to my scan.

Night night.

Hi All
Just thought I would let you know the results of my Hcg this morning, it has continued to rise !!! We are shocked AGAIN ..... but very hopeful once more.
The Dr this morning reckons that unfortunately the level of rise shows that it may only be one pregnancy, and that the bleeding may have been the other twin miscarrying (Bless my little apple pip xx).
But thank you to everyone who has supported me and given me hope, I really really appreciate it.
Love to you all,
Nicole xx

Hi All,

Helen - I see that Molly answered your DHEA question. Here are a couple of good links on the DHEA. I'm not sure it's quite the fountain of youth that the article implies, but I do truly believe that it has positive benefits for our biological timeclock. I was on 75mg/day prior to seeing George. George suggested 50 mg/day.
http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=4318538n
http://www.centerforhumanreprod.com/premature_ovaries.html

Molly - it seems like our situations are very much alike. My follicles were slow growing as well. I had 2 at 20 and some smaller ones that did eventually catch up. We were only expecting 3, maybe 4 follicles, but he ended up retrieving 5 with the wait. The difference is that I see he's upped your Menopur, where with me he upped my Gonal-F instead and left my Menopur where it was. I wonder what the difference is??? My doses were 75iu Menopur and 300iu Gonal-F (which he upped to 375iu to make the follicles grow). Maybe you were on different doses to start off with? In any case, I am really hoping that your follicle growth has increased.

Astra - Although I'm a believer in CGH, I think you made the absolute right choice to forego it in this case. I would have done the same thing. Wish you the best!

Nicole - goodness! I can't believe what you have been through. You're about 2 weeks ahead of me and I hope all continues in a positive direction for you.

Roz - you should be coming up on your next steps! Good luck!

I am currently on day-10, post (5-day) transfer. I had some immune issues so I am on a whole cocktail of meds still which are making me tired. This 2ww has been flying by for me, where as I thought it would be miserably long. I think I'd rather stay in the bliss of the "unknown" so instead time is flying at me at an incredible rate. I should know something on approximately the 8th-9th.

My husband & I had a great visit to the UK during this trip. We went to the Old Trip to Jeruselum Inn & Pub in Nottingham for lunch one day and I sat in the ancient fabled "Pregnancy Chair" (that we didn't even know was there). The sign above the chair reads "Important Notice. Here sits the Pregnancy Chair. Legend has it that any female who dared to sit upon this ancient chair very quickly became pregnant." Fortunately, I sat in it before I read the rest of the sign that says "Please do not sit on the chair as it is very fragile." Oops. Well, we'll see if it works. : )

Lots of luck to everyone!
Lori

Hi,

Lori - glad you're ok and that your 2 week wait is passing quickly - have you been tempted to POAS yet? I know I would have caved in by now! Very Happy Shame you didn't know about the pregnancy chair before you came to Nottingham - think of all the money you could have saved just having a nice holiday and sitting in the chair without all that medical intervention Very Happy

Nicole - wow, that's fantastic news! I am so relieved and pleased for you! Have you got your first scan booked yet? x

Molly - hope your scan went well today and your follicles have benefitted from all our follicle growing vibes Smile I'm only on Menopur, it did the trick for me years ago so hoping it does the same this time. Then I have to have intralipids, ultragestone (sp?) pessary thingies, steriod tablets, calcium tablets and aspirin, oh and clexane .... can hardly wait Wink

Astra - hope your managing to get your feet up a bit.

I'm still waiting for AF, think she's got lost! Got really bad PMT now though so could be anytime, have even tried wearing white knickers and planning to go swimming tomorrow - should do the trick Wink

Hi Ladies,

Nicole - so glad things are still looking positive for you. I hope that continues that way.

Astra - hope you're feeling ok and relaxing now.

Lori - really glad you got home safely and that everything is still on track. Try and take it a little bit easy if you can. You really made me laugh about the pregnancy chair Smile

Roz - you made me laugh too about the white knickers and planning to go swimming...hehe Smile AF will definitely turn up now! I'm on pretty much the same regime as you - I had intralipids yesterday which went fine although I did feel a little wibbly wobbly after which I think may have been due to the heat. It doesn't seem to get below 27oC in our flat.

My scan today was fine although DH and I were absolutely pooped out from the journey home afterwards. It took us a good 4 hours. We both fell alseep on the sofa and he's just gone out to get fish and chips. Mmmm very healthy. Never mind. The fish is protein isn't it?

They counted 8 follies today but I've now run out of Menopur so I had to get 3 more vials costing £47!! Good grief. I expect I'll have to get more on Monday too Confused

Enjoy the rest of the w/e Ladies.

Molly

Hi ladies

Nicole I'm on the edge of seat every time I read your posts, glad things are looking up for you x

Lori glad the 2ww is flying by best wishes for whenever you decide to test. Thanks for your comment about the CGH.

Molly glad you have more follies now, good luck for your next scan. The costs soon mount up don't they. Fish is defo protein as is a Big Mac in my book!

Roz isn't it typical that when you want af to come it drags its heels, I'm sure its just around the corner.

Its interesting that we are all intralipids, prednisolone and clexane gang as well as 40 + and CGH (apart from the CGH in my case)

Helen how is your car shopping going?

I have been taking it easy but also nipping out to do nice things, no house work, shopping etc. Feeling fine at the mo. Can't do too much lounging around the house when weather is fine.

luv astra x
