Mel so sorry your job is definitely at risk but go for it girl and fight your corner!! I did when my old co decided to shut the Leeds office down and although it didnt save our jobs they ended up having to pay us a lot more than originally planned!!
Well I've come down with a cold and sore throat over the last 24 hours and feeling pretty rough - sat up in bed at the moment! Mum and Dad are here until tomorrow so have said they will go and get the girls from school and entertain them so I can get some sleep!! Will miss the extra pairs of hands when they go back to Cape Town.
The girls are really enjoying reception - apart from being stroppy at night as they are so tired from school all is well. Di how is C enjoying it? Was meant to be having a chat with their teacher after school today just to check she was completely in the loop with their story etc but she is off sick today so will need to rearrange that - wont be as easy tho as wont have Mum and Dad to baby sit and you all know how useful my mil can be!!
Becky congratulations on doing so well in your exams.
Wendy hope HS goes quickly for you - I found once we got into the swing of the meetings the weeks flew by.
Elizabeth how are you today hon?
Cleeby welcome again to the angels thread.
Vonny/ Sam keep thinking of you and hoping you have news to share soon- 2010 will be your year.
Debbie hope you are all ok and Warren enjoying being back at school.
Am off for a sleep now as wanting to feel a bit more human so can go out with DH and make use of the baby sitting service Cant believe it just looked out the my window and seen a salt gritter out for the first time!! Our roads have been like ice rinks!!
Take care

Hi Girls,
Elizabeth - I am so so sorry hun to hear about your loss. It is a huge loss when your beloved pet dies. I really feel for you. I don't know if this is of any interest to you but my mum runs a free support service for people who have lost their pets. She simply talks to them and lets them speak about their grief and keeps in contct with them via E-mail or phone. If you do want to speak to her, her number is 01623 653173. If you do call tell her you know me off the internet. It's not for everyone so I won't be offended at all if you don't call but she is an excellent listener if you do want to vent some grief and like I said it's totally free, she does it for the love of it. Thinking about you xxx
Mel - Good on you for sticking up for yourself. I hope you don't loose your job. And don't every worry about the "me" posts, that's what we are here for xxx
Cleeby - Nice to "meet" you. What stage are you at? xxx
Di - Bless the little ones, I remember doing that to my mum too. I wouldn't eat things at home but would anywhere else. Sounds like you are doing a fab job at being mummy! xxx
Wendy - How are you finding the HS? Glad you are back at work. I'm getting cabin fever as still haven't been back xxx
Hope everyone else is ok. We finally have some news!!!!! Our agency called today saying out letter has been sent with our social worker allocation and we wil be contacted next week to arrange a day suitable for us to start HS. We have also been put on the prep course for April. I'm so excited now we have something to look forward to. |

Becky - that's brilliant news, once HS starts the weeks will fly by and you now have a countdown to prep!
Wendy - I was so upset when our last budgie died (he was only about 2.5) and I actually saw him fall off his perch. I called dh who was down the pub and he came home, in the morning Bobby was gone. I cried for a day.
Kate - she is enjoying reception, so she says anyhow. She's brought a few pictures home that she's made and they are doing a topic on The Gruffolo at the moment so she's enjoying that (except everyone else in her class made one over Christmas so she hasn't got one - not that I would know where to begin!). She goes in the door happily in the morning and she looks so happy when she sees me waiting at night (which is lovely). She's brought a sound book home so I'm trying to help her learn her sounds. It's hard as I don't know how much she's missed. Hope you feel better soon.
Mel - surely they can't do that? Are you in a union? Personal friendships should have nothing to do with scoring at all, that's awful. Sounds like you are sticking up for yourself. Go for it.
I popped up to the local Surestart Centre today, there's loads of stuff going on so we will definitely be using it and it's all free! Well, I'm having some me time as biggie is at school and littlie is asleep so I'm on the laptop!

Mel - how are you hun? How is your DH and FIL?
Kate - hope you are feeling better hun - you must be glad that your parents are with you just now! Great that the girls are settling in at home and school. My DD has been tired after starting back at school on Monday - so am I!!
Becky - good news hun that things will start moving for you soon - once they start thats it!! We are finding the HS okay. The 121 was a bit difficult for me because of family history - they do like to get into the nitty gritty!!
Di - glad to hear your little one is settling in at school okay and that both of them are settling in at home - you sound a lovely family. Understand how you feel about your pet - i still get upset from time to time after 10 years - still miss him.
Sam - we are fine thank you - DD was supposed to go back to school last Tuesday but only went back yesterday. Has been a nightmare the snow was about 3ft deep in places - it has been banked up off the road at about 5 to 6 foot to clear the main roads - dont know when it will go away!! Anything new happening for you hun? You have the patience of a saint!! Good things will happen for you soon.
Hi to Elizabeth, Debbs, Vonny, and Cleeby.
Having a restful day at home not back at work until Friday so i am slumming it today have had a really bad heachache for about a day now. Just watched Jeremy Klye now depressing - thought my life was bad!!

Hi,
Di - Hope you enjoyed the "me time" I bet you don't much of it now:-) How old is your little one? xxx
Sam - How are you? What stage are you at? I'm still a bit confused with everyone's stage at the minute:-) xxx
Wendy - DH is dreading the 121 as he's not really an open person and not really that close to his family. He considers my parents as his now (His family all live about 130 miles away and are quite selfish so don't really take any interest in what we are doing) so I think he's worried about what they might think about it......... If i'm ever having a bad day I watch Jeremy Kyle, it always makes you realise your life isn't so bad after all. Where do they get these idiots from? xxx
Hope everyone else is ok. Do any of you watch Corronation Street? There is an adoption story line coming up with Steve and Becky. It will be interesting to see how it is put across. They coverd an IVF story a couple of years ago and got so many complaints because it was done really badly, I was fuming (partly to do with the fact I was cycling at the time and was full of hormones) Anyway i'm off to buy a new matress. Speak soon xxx |

Becky - hey, I've been on the JK show ................... not really!!!! I know what you mean, I get soooo mad that they are all either pg or have got children, never seem to know who the father is, don't work, take drugs, drink, etc. etc. There is no justice in this world that's for sure. I can't remember an ivf storyline in Corrie before - who was doing it? I think there is also an adoption soryline coming up in Eastenders with Ian and Jane although I don't know if it will continue with Jane having just found out about Ian's secret! Trouble is soaps are exactly that and are for entertainment so they can only really skim the surface with these things. Don't worry about the 121 bit, ours was fine and we weren't 'interviewed' individually we both sat in the same room.
Woo - I am having my 'me' time again so will be watching JK on ITV2 in a min, well, I'll have it on in the background anyway. I love it when JK shouts at them!
Taking biggie to the docs tonight as she has started saying "mummy I need a wee" sooo many times a day and 5 mins after she's previously been. It's so annoying and I wonder if it's a control thing now we've made progress with the eating issue. Anyway, I'm only taking her to the gp to rule an infection out then we will know it's not a medical problem. Never know she could have an infection then I'll feel really bad!
Ooooh just about to catch GINO on Loose Women - wooo hoooo!!!!! |

| Di - The IVF story in Corri was with Violet when she wanted a baby but didn't have a man so Shaun donated sperm to her. The line that caused so many complaints was Violet saying "I chose IVF because it's easy, honest and clean!" not quite words I'd choose but hey! Like you say it's all entertainment....... I do have to admit that I Put JK on one day to see my next door neighbours son. Who we now know is a lying, cheeting thief with cyphallis. Always nice to learn that about your neighbours! LOL xxx |

| oh yes, it was a turkey baster moment wasn't it! and she was pg the following day! She must have discussed IVF somewhere along the line because I remember a huge debate on cycle buddies about it. LOL.... Ah well we'll see what they make of an adoption story. |

E- {{HUG}}, hope your ok xx
Di- Hope biggie gets on ok at the docs my love xx
Wendy- Thanks hun, I used to be sooo impatient but we have got used to it. Even our sw said that they can't wait to come and see us when we have a little one as it has been too long now. We are ok though and know things will happen when they are meant to.
We had sw round yesterday and we have updated our crb forms so they don't delay things. The ice was horrendous this morning wasn't it, I can't believe I didn't end up on m bum. Came home early though as the weather over this end has turned again and it is snowing again!!
Hope you are all ok?
Love to you all.
Love Sam

Hi Girls,
Sam - Hope you get the news you want soon then! At least they have sorted your CRB out so it doen't run out. They can be a nightmare waiting for. xxx
Wendy - Hope you enjoyed the birthday party. We got a new mattress, one of those memory foam ones. Trouble is, it's that comfy I don't want to gewt out of bed in a morning now! LOL xxx
Di - How did biggie get on with the doc? Hope she's ok xxx
I'm still waiting for the letter from our Social worker. We've got a back log of post at the minute from when it was snowing so probably wont get it till next week now.... We have started making an Adoption diary. We are writing everything in a scrap book that we do towards the adoption so one day when our children are old enough to understand, they can read it to help them understand what we and they went through to be a family. I'm enjoying doing it, plus it's helping to fill in the waiting time so I feel i'm doing something. Anyway hope you're all ok. Speak soon xxx |

Hi Angels
Just a quick update from me....
I still have a job, albeit a different one to what I was doing but I am happy with that.
DH has been to see consultant today and its his colon apparently We are waiting for an appointment to come through for a different type of xray before we will know anymore but the cons said he didn't think it was cancer but its worrying as his Dad has had bowl cancer.
So for a lot of reasons I'm not really posting much.
Love

Fine thanks, just busy with work and Warren! We have also applied for number 2, so sw's are doing references at the moment. It has taken ages for to persuade DH, so I'm hoping that he convinces the sw that he is as committed as me when the hs starts!!
Warren has his second swimming lesson today: I have paid for individual ones as he didn't get on well in a group. So, I'm hoping it goes as well as last week. He loves swimming but is a bit over confident!
Take care

Wendy, yes am happy about the job - one less thing to be having to worry about! Need DH to get sorted and back to work asap so we can get that out of the way and DS can get back to a normal routine, the last couple of months have been difficult with changes in routine due to holidays, the snow etc etc and having Daddy home when he should be at work is confusing for DS and his behaviour recently has suffered quite a lot.
FIL is okish. He missed a chemo due to the snow and was really thinking about not having anymore tx as he is going from each tx to the next without being able to really do a lot, mainly sleeping, so not a good quality of life. Anyway, due to the extra week break he decided to go ahead but they have given him a reduced dose in the hope of fewer symptoms. They have finally spoken to Pallative Care and have contact numbers for MacMillon Nurses etc so they can, or MIL at least, can get some support as she is finding it hard this time round. The knowledge that there is nothing left they can do after this is taking its toll.
Hairdresser coming this morning so best get on.
Hope everyone is OK, I am reading but posting time runs out!

Debs - i am sure everything will go okay with your adoption second time round you know what to expect!! My DD was the same as Warren when she started swimming i started her from birth really and she is now like a fish she loves the water!! I am sure Warren will come on leaps and bounds with his swimming.
Mel - what a tough time you are having at the moment with all the different things that are going on in your life - i think still having a job will be one less thing to worry about and get you out of the house you would probably worrry more if you were at home with time to think about things. What a shame for your FIL - i hope he feels a wee bit better with the reduce dose of chemo. Take care of yourself hun.
DD and i are baking today lots of things and tomorrow she is away to a panto in Berwick to see "Sinbad the Sailor" she is going with the Brownies. So DH and i are free for 6 hours. Thinking of going for a nice Sunday lunch somewhere or maybe the pictures.
Have a nice weekend everyone.
