Mel - What a lot you are going through at the minute. I'm glad to hear things with your job have been solved though, at least that is 1 less stress to deal with. I hope your DH gets sorted soon. xxx
Wendy - Your HS really has gone quick hasn't it. I hope ours goes that quick (if we ever get started!) Hope DD had fun at Sinbad the Sailor! xxx
Debs - Good luck with applying for no 2. Do you have to go through the full process again or is there a shortened version? I'm sure DH will be fine once it all gets going. xxx
Hi to everyone else. Still not got our starting letter yet. It should've been here last week. Ah well, i'm keeping myself busy to pass the time on. We went to see the Strictly Come Dancing tour last night. It was brill! Anyway i'm off to work soon so will speak later. xxx |

Hi everyone sorry not been on for a while, been trying to get a few issues sorted out with the twins' school and things now seem to be sorting themselves out now- thank goodness. Its been agreed that for the next few weeks I can collect the girls on a thurs and fri at 1pm for them to have some mummy/ daughter time as I just think full time is a bit too much for them at the moment. They are upstairs playing dressing up!
Had a visit from my health visitor yest who put my mind at rest and was so reasuring.
Cant believe its their birthday in 5/6 weeks time- not really thought about it much but then went into a bit of a blind panic this am when one of the mums started talking about her daughters party that is all booked and her birthday isnt until last week in April!! Dont really know what to do. any ideas welcome...
Best get going as we are off to see Daddy for a drink. |

| Kate - Where abouts are you in the country? I'm a children's entertainer and run birthday parties for a living! Have a look on my website if you want for ideas www.opaz-entertainments.com I do children's disco's with entertainment, games, competitions and give prizes away. I also do themed parties such as Princess, Pirates, Circus skills, makeover's, High School Musical, Soft play @ under 4's disco, Face Painting & Balloon modelling etc.....All you have to do is hire a room and supply the food. I've done quite a few parties for people on here and will happily do you a "friends rate" if it's what you want. Otherwise soft play centres do good birthday parties, then all the stress is off you........... I think that is a good idea taking the girls out of school early a couple of days a week. It must be such a huge change for them it will be nice to have some mummy time. xxx |

| Wow Becky website looks great- we're in York so a bit of a way I suspect. Hopefully we are planning on having a family celebration day after the adoption order and was hoping to invite the adoption angels and families for the next meet up so maybe that would be a possibility?? |

Hi Kate
We are hiring a hall, bouncy castle, having face painting, craft table and balloons and food, party bags and cake. I didn't fancy doing 2 parties so am inviting family to the same one as nursery friends.
As the girls haven't been at school that long you may be better booking a soft play centre or something for x number of children, think our local one is a minimum of 8, and they will supply everything. We had planned on doing this and then a family party at home but DS started inviting nursery friends back in November and there are far too many children on the list now.
Other than that have a traditional party at home!

Hi Mel was really hoping to avoid a party at home  Priced up local soft play area - was thinking of the Sat having bit of open house for close friends/ family for drinks/ e numbers!! as combined 40th/ 5th celebration and then on the Sunday maybe having the girls, their 2 cousins and 6/8 others to soft play park. There is also a fun bus that operates around here so e mailed to get some costings.

Becky - sorry you have not heard anything yet about your HS starting - hopefully you will have a date soon. Strictly Come Dancing tour sounds great. Just keep yourself busy and it will happen in no time. DD loved Sinbad said it was fun!! Yeah things are moving not too badly i think with Xmas it slowed up a little bit - but still doing okay.
Kate - good idea about taking the girls out that little bit earlier for a bit of home time with you - glad things are going okay. Yeah when the HV comes and says you are doing the right things it feels good!! Hope you get something sorted out for their birthdays soon. Sure you will come up with something  Soft play areas are quite good at taking the stress off  Fun bus sounds fab!
Mel - how are you hun? When is your little ones birthday? You are very organised 
Went to the pics last night with some friends to see "It's Complicated" it was really funny and Meryl Streep is fab - check it out. Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi girls
Sorry just not getting chance at moment to come on much but just wanted to update you. We had a visit from a sw last night and they want to proceed with a match they have for us. We are overjoyed but do not know yet what panel date we will be going to. It is looking like April though. It is little baby girl. Will fill you all in by other means IYKWIM.
Hope your all ok and hopefully will try and catch up soon.

Hi ladies,
Thanks for your support. We have heard that our panel is April, not what we wanted but it is what we expected. It is out of our control so we have just got on with it. Still it is a very exciting time and we are overjoyed. She is beautiful and looks similar to ds, although not a birth sibling. Started shopping already, very naughty indeed.
Mel - Hope Dh is feeling a little better and not in so much pain. You have had so much on your plate recently. How is your hs going?
Debs - How is the brave little Warren doing? Hope your all over the trauma of it all and on the mend.
Vonny - So sorry to hear about dh grandma, it is always sad when you loose a dear one. Thoughts with you both. I hope you enjoy Germany, it will be lovely for your son to visit. Also fingers crossed with your recent developments I really do hope so much that it positive for you.
Diane - Hope that your dd is feeling better hun, it must be a worry. I can only imagine how frustrating things must be re your eldest but as the others have already said I am sure she is just adjusting.
Gill - OMG your dh was very lucky and he must have been really shook up. Really pleased that he is safe and well.
Nic - Which cp did you go to? I am wanting to book for a weekend in March to spend some quality time with my boys before the madness starts again. Glad you had a lovely time hun.
Kate - It is really great to hear that the girls are doing well and that you have had some support from school. By the way thank you so much for the picture the girls are beautiful.
Sam - CONGRATULATIONS HUN I am so so chuffed for you. I bet your so excited and time will fly by. You have been through so much and have waited patiently for your little dream, you enjoy every minute cause you deserve it. Look forward to hearing more about your journey.
Becky - Hope you got your letter.
Cleeby - I see your waiting for panel too. Have you been naughty with the shopping yet or contained yourself. The sw make me laugh telling us not to go out shopping. I hardly need an excuse never mind knowing I am goign to have another little one to shop for.
Wendy - Thanks for the review I want to see that film but DH won't come with me. Will have to go with the girls instead.
Well O hope that I have not missed anyone, apologies just incase I have. There seems to be so much happening I cannot keep up with it all.
Right I better get off to bed as got a very busy day tomorrow plus my FIL finds out if his cancer treatment has worked, fingers crossed I cannot even think about it.

Hi Girls,
We finally have a start date for our HS. We've been allocated our Social worker who called us today. We are booked to have our first home visit on the 23rd of this month to start HS. I'm so excited now we have something to look forward to. We're also booked onto our group session for April and May so it's all action now!!!
Debbs - Many congratulations hun. I'm so pleased for you. Hope it all goes well. I don't blame you with the shopping! Enjoy:-) I hope you get the nesw you want with your FIL xxx

Becky - great to hear that you have a date for your HS to start hun all guns now!!! It will fly in i am sure. We have a meeting yesterday with SW and he says we should be ready for panel round about April time - so heres hoping. Hope you enjoy your disco hun hang onto those anadin think you will need them!! he he. I had a sickness bug at the beginning of the week and felt really bad for a couple of days feeling a lot better now though. DD and DH were okay i am the only weakling in our household.
Debbs - what great news about your little girl i am keeping my fingers crossed for you but things sound quite hopeful. I would be the same as you just now think i would be spending lots of money as well!! April will be here before you now it you can start preparing and getting things ready enjoy the spare time you have at the moment hun!!
Well hope everyone has a nice weekend - am going to a friends house tomorrow for a Candle Party think there are quite expensive but will go along anyway for the fun.

Debbs, good news re panel in April, I guess it seems a while away yet but the time will soon fly by. Enjoy the last precious months of DS on his own and getting ready for your little girl.
Becky, fab news about starting HS, time really flies when you get into it.
HS is going well, we have been able to transfer a lot of the info from last time which is good and our SW said yesterday that we don't have much to get through really. She is coming again on Tuesday so for the moment at least we are having weekly visits. SHe is going to come and play with DS a couple of times and talk while playing but he is already getting excited and telling everyone he is having a sister!! How do you explain to a small child that its going to take some time????? He says he doesn't mind having to share us and is looking forward to helping Mummy and being a big brother We are hoping panel will be before Whitsun week, should give our SW plenty of time to get the report done especially with transferring loads and I have already typed a number of things for her to just copy and paste. The time is going to be spent getting to referees more than HS.
Have a good weekend, off out with 2 friends from work for a gossip and catch up.

Mel - sounds like you're hurtling along too! I'm a bit dim, when is Whitsun? Maybe sw could try to explain to ds about things taking a long time (in a way he would understand)?
Debbs - fantastic news! Can't wait to hear more.
Things are busy, busy, busy here! The days just fly by really, I can't believe it's monday again tomorrow! It's nice not to get that sunday night feeling that I used to get before work on a monday! Taking littlie to the toy library tomorrow, they are doing chinese cooking and food tasting - yum!

Di, have a good time tasting food today!
It was more of a statement about explaining time to a child rather than a question of how to do it. Our SW says we are doing it the right way, if there is one, but children of this age have no concept of how long an hour is let alone a week, month or year.

Di - hope you have a good day at your toy library today with the little one - chinese cooking think i would be interested in that too dont mind the food!! Yeah cant believe we are in to February already how time flies. How are you getting on? Did not manage to get to Candle Party had really bad sickness bug that left me feeling kind of zonked out - going to one this Thursday morning though should be fun. We have another SW visit for HS at the end of this month and we are waiting to go for our medicals - all being well. Yeah things are going rather smoothly just now!!
Mel - glad to hear things are going well for you on your second adoption - the little one seems excited - i am sure it will all go well for you. My DD is exactly the same no concept of time!! Maybe not a bad thing !!
Becky - how are things hun any news?

Wendy - Hope you are feeling better now. A few of my friend have had it too, it sounds like it's doing the rounds! Sounds like things are going well for your HS, how long have you been doing it now? Hope your medical is less embarrasing than mine xxx
Di - Chinese day sounds fun! I could sample that food all day I had a good chat with our SW on the phone the other day and told him I "knew" you. He chuckled when I said you spoke very highly of him. He sounds lovely though so it's put my mind at rest now xxx
Mel - Glad HS is going well. How sweet of your DS to say he doesn't mind sharing you, bless him. Hope you had a good weekend of gossip with the girls xxx
