Had a call from care today to say of my 5 eggs, 3 were mature and none of those have fertilized! I'm in bits.
The 2 that weren't mature have now matured and they are injecting them today but they said it's 'uncommon but not rare' for those to fertilize.
I have two frozen embryo's from last time.
We're under george with immunology and seem to have less of a result than when it was a normal (as in non drug) cycle. Last time was 11 eggs, 9 mature, 5 fertilised, 2 emplanted, 2 frozen.
I need some hope please - anyone been in this situation and had success?? I can't stop crying |

Hi saffra,
im sorry but i dont have any advice to give or knowledge on this but just wanted to give you a cyber hug. If no-one else pops on later perhaps you could try posting it on another site such as fertility friends to see if anyone can help.

hi saffra
so sorry to hear this happened to you....it so gutting after all you've been through to get to et!
it happened to us on our 5th cycle (4th fresh) we had 16 mature eggs collected and none of the 16 fertilised, the sperm and eggs just didn't get together.....sadly for us this cycle was abandoned and george got us cycling again asap (we'd had ivig so wanted to try to use the benefits of it!!) he advised that we had icsi, we did get a BFP on the following cycle which sadly ended in m/c however we did get there in the end and got our beautiful baby girl after 8 cycles (5 with George)
i know at the moment things don't look good and i really hope your 2 newly matured eggs fertilised and are being put back soon
much love
Suze xx |

Thanks for your kind thoughts all.
Sadly the two didn't take either and the two frozen embryos didn't survive the thaw.
Was gutted to hear that our review would be mid- april!!! really shocked.
Suze - how soon were you able to cycle again? I've sent care an email as i feel they just don't care by making us wait so long.
Clearly an emotional time, been in bits all day.
We feel so let down that they did the egg recovery at what seems such and early stage. |
