Hi Marypoppins,

Welcome onboard. Please don't feel lost. All us ladies on here don't know eachother personally but we know more about eachother's fears and anxieties than people we may know for years and years.

There's no need to feel lost anymore - we are all in this "fertility world" together and we'll help you when you're down just like you'll help us when we are down.

I log on and post when I'm happy, sad or indifferent. I never posted on forums until I started posting on this and I really think it's what's keeping me sane.

Open night in Sheff - I didn't know about that - I too am at Sheffield. All I can tell you is that they are LOVELY AND FABULOUS. I feel so comfortable in there, honestly, you can ask them as many questions and you want and as many time as you need too. You can also ask all of us anything you need and we'll do our best to answer.

Melba - I know it's scarey not having control - but the way I look at it is - Okay these lovely people at CARE have taken over my cycle and are controlling it, and if anyone needs to, I'm glad it's them as they are soooo qualified and experienced in doing so. They are the professionals, so we in the best care possible ---was that a pun?

I hope all you other ladies are doing well today.

I'll let you know later if I am good to start stimming tonight or not - I ring the results line between 1.30-2pm.

I'm very crampy and tired today for some reason. I don't get a period whilst on this cycle do I? I'm a first timer - I'm allowed to ask daft questions. Laughing

babydust to all.

xx

Hi 2bamum

So have you got the go ahead for stims then? have you been down regging then so far? Depending on what day you started your jabs, yes you should still get your AF this month as normal which will help everything to be all dampened down, lining thin and then you start the stims which will start you growing some follicles. I dont think you have to have AF but when I had down regs, I tended to start on day 21 then would have Af at usual time then soon after be ready for stims. Yes you are allowed to ask any question and they are not silly!

Hi Mary Poppins - Welcome to the site from me too. Sheffield staff are lovely I agree, some of them are very experienced ad will help answer any questions you have. I know it all seems very daunting at the minute but you will be told what to do every step of the way and you always have us for support. I only know alot about it all as I have sadly been going through all this for such a long time now and even though I have a daughter from IVF, I still felt it was a big part of my life, I have alot of friends via forums and you keep each other going.

Where is everyone else then today? xxx

Hi NicolaM and everyone.

I started stimming last night. I was a bit of a chicken about it to be honest, as the injections are different to the supercur ones.
NicolaM, I only get a few periods a year so I suppose it's hit or miss if I get one now, but it's good to know I shouldn't freak out either way. thank you for the info.

I'm due in Sheff on Monday morning for a scan and bloods - really hope all will go smoothly.

I feel tired and bloated but apart from that I'm grand. V. distracted though, hard to keep focus at work but I know I need to.

speaking of which - I better go here again.

how are all our other lovely ladies doing?

Hi Ladies,
Wow it's getting busy now and great to have a support network. I haven't been on for a while as had laptop problems. My drugs arrived this morning and i'm due in for bloods on the 15th and then find out when I can start stimming. I'm on HRT at the moment

Just a few personals:

2bamum - glad that you've started stimming - good luck for scan and bloods. Take it easy if you are feeling tired, you need to get lots of rest in preparation!

NicolaM - how you doing in 2WW ? Take it easy hunx

MaryPoppins - welcome hun, we are in this together and all have lots of experience and before you know it you will sharing your experiences with others who aren't as far on. Have you heard anymore from Care yet? A good book is Zita West's guide to getting pregnant is a really good book and has a section on IVF with lots of hints and tips. I found it really useful.

Melba - how are you? What stage are you at now?

Em - how are you. I've not been to Center Parcs but have always wanted to go. Maybe that's something I could do in my 2WW!

MeadsyLou - how are you?

Sending you all love, hugs and PMA

Miss Daisy xx

Hi There
I am due to go to care mon 8th to have a scan to check my lining ! I am really scared as I have to go alone as my hubby is away working this week. The transfer will be this week I think...Hubby will have to visit the clinic from where he is to do his bit! It isnt my eggs that are calling the tune it is my donor's, as Iam using a donor eggs. I have been taking HRT drugs for about 10 days now...they do make me feel a bit down and bloated too.
I will let you know how my scan goes on monday...I am so scared.
Thanks

Hi Melba

I'm on Cyclo-proygnova (2mg). I don't think I have felt down (although have been tired) but I know my skin isn't it's normal self, and think that may be down to the hrt. Don't be scared about your scan (what is it you are scared of?), I'm sure it will be fine. Good luck and let us know how you get on, will be thinking of you. The nurses are lovely and will help you relax, they are really down to earth (if that's the right phrase!), so some things they say are really funny and take your mind off things!

It's so exciting that you are nearly there and then you will be PUPO!!

Take care,

Miss Daisy xx

Hi all

Good to see you are all doing OK. Sorry I havent posted for a few days, my laptop has gone on the blink!

Miss Daisy - I have had acupuncture with Dr Zhao previously. I had 4 cycles without acu that failed and then my 5th cycle I had acu and that resulted in my DD. I did have it more recently with a FET but that failed and as I am only having IUI I decided not to have it this time, mainly cos its sooo expensive but I would def recommend her as she is really good and I have a few friends that have also got their BFP's after having treatment with her.

Love Nicki

Hi Hopingandpraying, Are you taking anything for the headaches, I think you will be ok with paracetamol? Is your hubby understanding? When are you having EC?

Hi Nicki, Thanks for the info on Dr Zhao. How much is the treatment, I didn't ask?!

Have a good week everyone,

Miss Daisy xx

Hi all

Sorry I've not been on much, I have been so busy! Hows everyone doing?

hopingandpraying - How are the headaches? When is it you have your ec? Did you find it painful first time round?

2bamum - good luck for you scan tomorrow, let us know how you get on

Nicolam - How are you feeling?

Miss Daisy - How are you? When is it you are due to start stimming??

Hi to everyone else too. Im trying really hard to lose some weight ready for my next tx, have lost 8 pounds but want to lose about another 7. Im within the healthy bmi, but will feel better if I'm a bit slimmer for starting tx, as I tend to put half a stone on whilst cycling.

Take care all xx

Hi Missy Daisy - Just been taking para's but sometimes they don't shift the pain, the only way I can describe it, is like a tight band around my head.
I've just done my 2 injections 10 minutes ago so no doubt will be in bed soon, i'm soo tired. lol.

Meady Lou- Hello, I'm currently ok at the moment, my headaches usually start at around 1pm everyday and sometimes last until I go to bed, today I've not had one though so bonus! I'm not sure when EC is yet, hopefully next couple of weeks.
I was in so much pain last year with EC, that was with NHS though so I'm praying care wont be the same... Well done on loosing the 8 pounds, I've pilled on a stone since last IVF - comfort eating Smile the way I see it is that if this time doesnt work then I will be hitting every diet going and if it does then I don't care.. Smile

hopingandpraying - Did you suffer with headaches last time too? I dont remember suffering from them, but its almost a year since I did my my fresh cycle and I tend to forget. Whens your first stimming scan? Where did you have your first cycle? I too found EC very uncomfortable, but Ive since heard they offer gas and air if your in pain, I'll def be taking them up on that next time. No pain no gain though eh xx

Hi Girlies,

How are you all doing?

I'm back from my scan - my left ovaries were missing in action so I had to go downstairs for a second scan. Ringing the results line yesterday but it seems nothing too disastorous is happening.

Melba - so happy you asked what PUPO was? How did your scan go?

hoping and praying - welcome. I hope your headaches are easing. I was like a bear with a sore head yesterday - haven't a clue why. I just went for a walk - pounded the pavements for about 45 mins and came back loving life. Laughing I think my hubby is just taking me as he finds me these days - I'm going to go walking every evening now - hoping it will help balance out my hormones etc.

MeadsyLou- I've made a decision regarding my weight (i too am in healthy bmi but just about and I'm at my heaviest now). I'm going to join slimming world tomorrow. They actually have a programme for veggies (me) and for people trying to and who are pregnant (me). And I saw a review from a lady who has PCOS (me) on there too.
btw - what's tx?

Miss Daisy, Nicola M - what's the story with the acupuncture - do you just get it done in Sheff CARE before the EC and ET? Do you ring reception at CARE for it?

Nicki, em&nick, Marypoppins and anyone else I've forgotten - how are you all doing?

babydust to all and I hope we all have a positive week.

2bamum - Does that mean that you havent down regged yet then? I guess you'll know more when you phone for your results. Have you checked with CARE about going on a diet? I'm sure it will be ok though, especially as its tailored to those trying to get pregnant, sounds like a good diet. I'm just doing good old Weight Watchers. How long does it take you to walk home from work? I walk home every day too, takes me about 30 mins, I feel I need it, cos I sit on my bum at work all day! Tx just means a treatment cycle. Good luck for your results xx

MeadsyLou - I got the results - need to up my dosage of the menapur (spelling?). I need to stay on everything the else the same as I was. I guess this is not a bad thing? I believe I've been stimming for 5 days - since I've been on teh menapur, not sure if I'm still down regging too as I'm on the supercur - maybe staying on that due to PCOS - haven't a clue to be honest with you. Smile

I don't walk home from work - I walk when I get home from work - well I did one day - going to do it every evening now. Smile

I didn't check with CARE about the diet - I'll mention it to them, thing is slimming world don't cut anything out - it seems like a total lifestyle change program.

right, I'm going now to see how I feel about these results. I think it's positive as in, the cycle hasn't been cancelled or anything.

oh - can someone tell me what trigger means please? Is it ovulate?

tnx

Hi

Hope you are all well.

2bamum - was your second scan ok? Hope you are feeling ok. At the Sheffield Care they have a TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) practitioner associated with them - there's a leaflet at the centre. You do book through the reception and I think you just have the treatment before ET - I'll know more after Wednesday. Here is a link to her website http://www.zhongjing.co.uk/about_practitioner.htm there is a bit more info on here about the benefits.

MeadsyLou - I think I'm going to start walking - I am really naughty and don't do any exercise and when I get home from work I get myself positioned on the sofa (with a throw) and that's me for the night and then I wonder why I am putting weight on !!

Sorry about the abbreviations!

Bye for now,

Miss Daisyxx

Hi Girlies, how is everyone??

Meadsylou,
Yeah I suffered from headaches last time, this time they havent been
as bad as last time but still there, I'm sleepy all the time though lol,
scan should be at the end of this week, I had my first cycle at Jessops hun.
I'll definately be asking for max gas and air Smile xx

2bamum,
The walks seem like a good idea, may have to give them a go, my problem is
once I've eaten all I was to do is veg out until it is bed time. How are you
doing today? Have you noticed any twinges on your ovaries? and what dose of
Menopur are you on?? xx

Take care everyone xxx

hi girlies,

I hope you are all well.

I feel as sick as a small hosptial today. I'd say it's the increase in menapur.

H&P - as of last night I'm on 3 powders to 1 water. oh I didn't go for a walk yesterday evening. Sad I am very good at positioning myself on the setee for the night.

Just rang CARE about when my ET might be - they said if everything goes well with my scan etc on Friday that it will be early next week. I can't believe it.
So this week should go fast - I've loads of stuff that needs to be done before end of month at work and seen as I'm going to be precious and take 2 weeks off, I must finish them this week. I'm like one of those ladies who every year say "I can't believe Christmas is on top of me again" - seen as Christmas is the same time every year it shouldn't shock anyone but I am shocked. I'm daft in the head sometimes - I guess I was just taking one day at a time and trying so hard not to mess up my shots etc.

Girlies - any suggestions about work. Do I tell them this week - that I "might" have a procedure next week and will be off for two weeks. I don't want them to know what I'm doing and if it doesn't go ahead then what. hmm, I'll have to ponder about that.

MissDaisy - thanks for the information on the acupuncture and chinese medicine etc.

oh melba - how exciting - your ET could be end of week. yeah. keep us posted. sending you lots of babydust.

woopsies - gotta go.

xx
