Hi Indiajo ... welcome on board! It's lovely to see you here.
I'm sorry to hear that you had to suffer a m/c last August ... this IVF ride is tough and heartbreaking at times. I'm impressed with how much weight you have lost (4 stones in 6 months) since then ... you are one determined and focused lady!
Hope that we can provide you the company and support during your second cycle ... may this be the one which brings you your miracle!
Roll on AF ... so that you will be one step closer to your BFP!
Maple

I had a really strange thought just driving along before...what if AF doesnt come and Ive paid for the tx already!! Fat chance of that we've been ttc 5 1/2 years and only got a BFP on our last cycle !! So yeah roll on wednesday (im so regular) then I can get on with it
Thanks for replying

Afternoon Ladies,
Welcome to Indiajo, and please don't try to read from the beginning - I did that over Xmas as I only joined late summer and it took me several days! Are you starting on day 1? I think we all know how you must be feeling right now - that great IVF mix of excitement and nerves. Hopefully we will be able to help you through - everyone was such a big help to me during my last cycle before Xmas.
Well! I am 12w and 1d today! Baby is now 5.5cm and continues to be a right wriggler. 10 minutes of scanning and it wouldn't cooperate for the downs test so I had to go for a walk. By the time we got back in it had turned a full 180 degrees and was busy waggling its arms and legs for us. Just so happy that we have reached this milestone.
The omens were definitely good today - it is snowing again especially for our little snow baby! Might not make it for my pizza if it carries on, but not really bothered now.
Looks good for our 20 week scan - it didn't dawn on us until we get home, but it will be on our wedding anniversary.
We are both so very happy today!

Aw, Caroline....a big hug to you, little wriggly baby and Roly! Enjoy this special moment and never mind the pizza!
I am so happy for you, ....have been waiting for your update all afternoon! Now relax and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy! It will fly bye from now on!

P.S:How lovely that your 20 week scan is on your anniversary...Definitely a good omen! |

Caroline - what wonderful news ... your little miracle is doing so well. You must be so elated (and relieved) to get over this milestone ... time to start relaxing and look forward towards your 20 week scan and wedding anniversary! (How did you manage to time it so well?)
Love,
Maple

Welcome Indiajo...and all the best with your forthcoming cycle....sounds like you've done all you can to get in tip top condition ...
It's a bit scary but exciting too, especially if you know this will be your last go with your own eggs.
We probably all know how you feel right now and will be hear to listen and support however we can.
The one thing I do believe helps a little with implantation and egg quality is a protein rich diet leading up to EC. Quite a few ladies I know have used it and reported good things about it. I also used it on all my cycles..one of which resulted in my little boy...but then again, who knows what it was in the end that did the trick.
If I was to cycle again I would probably use it again..it's basically some protein powder you mix into milk and have a milkshake...Just gives you this extra bit of protein...and it can't harm you...
Anyway, wishing you all the best and looking forward to getting to know you a bit better
Sophia

Hi girls and thankyou for the warm welcome
You re right its a big mix of emotions although excitement is definately prevailing ...I cant wait to get going!
Sophia I'll try tat protein diet is it whey protein or something because I think Ive seen that mentioned before. Your little boy is gorgeous .. his hair is so sweet. I childmind a mixed race boy of two and I could see his hair being like that when it grows some more!
Caroline a big congrats on your pregnancy and the good news all is going so well...thats a lovely anniversary present seeing your little one again I bet youre relieved to get this far and be able to relax and enjoy now a bit!
I'll keep you all posted when my AF arrives then I call the unit and arrange a scan for day 2/3 and then start the injections so should be started at weekend fingers crossed.
bye for now xx |

I have just cooked up a storm trying to take my mind off things, pumkin and parmesan soup, pancetta, mushroom and cheese quiche and hummos! What a combo hee hee. I have stuffed all that down, left a bit for DH who is working late. Now off to have a hot chocolate and a mini mars in bed with Friends (dvd!) Greedy cow

Hi ladies
Gosh, I ahd trouble getting on today - maybe because I've not had a chance to come and chat for a week or so??? Odd!!!
I've read through but I've missed so much so forgive me if I don't respond to all etc.
Caroline - such wonderful news, I'm so pelased for you. I have such fond mem ories of my 12 week scan. Dh and I couldn't stop grinning after seeing our babies looking like real little people for the first time. I'm guessing you didn't see any little appendages to give the boy/girl game away. For what it's worth I think you may be ahving a little boy - don't know why. Anyway, huge congratulations for getting this far. How's the nausea now?
Ali - sorry to hear about Fin, how is he now? Will and Bella both had the swine flu jabs and suffered no ill effects but I was worried. we have MMR in a couple fo weeks which is also a worry but after all our illnes at the end of last year I'm taking any vaccinations I can get! I'm not sure about 24th april yet - it is our anniversary (of the day we met) and we always mark the occasion. I need to test teh water with DH and see...............
Maple - I had clexane and dexamethasone and low dose aspirin. I agree with the other ladies - chuck everything at it this time, nothing to lose but everything to gain. This WILL be your year. I am convinced of it.
Maryrose - thanks for the empathy. My work are being so rubbish - they still ahve not given me a decision about me going down to two days. as such, the babies had to do 3 days last week and this week too. last week was just awful as, although they seem to enjoy being at nursery, they won't sleep properly as get so overtired. It has taken me three days to get them back on track and then we start again at nursery on wednesday. I am very very cross with work - I know I deserve to be treated better....and so do william and isobel. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. On a different note, I'm so pelased you're going to cycle again, very exciting!
Flossy - can you let me have your address so i can send the Bumbo. Feel free to email it to me if you prefer. My address is jeni.russell@btinternet.com
Pip - how are you doing now? I'm not surprised you're very tired. It is really hard work carrying two babies and you are doing a fab job. My DH always compared the babies to parasites - they take all the goodness out of your body and you are just left with what's left over which is why you're so knackered! Console yourself with the fact that you're making sure your babies have everything they need!
Pika - sorry to hear your having such a hard time with redundancy etc but hope it means you are due a bit of luck elsewhere i.e. on the baby front!
Mads - lots of luck with your twoo week wait. I am thinking lots of positive thoughts for you. I love Rome - I lived there for two years and it was a wrench moving back to the UK. As for Italian men....hmmmm
Debbie - Hamish and Ikie are both scrumptious. Will and Bella would love a dog but I don't have the energy just yet - and I think the cats would move out!
Likas - all quiet from you, is everything ok?
Perejil - I don't know if you still read but just wanted to say that we now have 4 Slinky Malinkey books - very much a favourite at bedtime
Cazza - Charlotte is beautiful. Lovely to hear from you
Soph - very excited to read you're moving forward with DE. I am sure this is the way for you to achieve your dream.
I know I'll have forgotten some lovely ladies so I'm sorry but I really need to go to bed now!
Lots of love
Cam
PS: Mae - I've e-mailed you

Hi LL's
Have spent quite a while catching up on all the posts & all the news !
Since I finished work I have packed my laptop away so it is only when I unpack it again that I can manage to catch up with everyone. I have a blackberry for email but try to avoid accessing my laptop as work then seems to think it is ok to contact me - even though I am on annual leave before starting my maternity leave!
Well we had our growth scan last week & all was well, both babies weighed over 5 lbs each and are doing great, twin one (shrek!) is still head down so I should still be ok to go for a normal delivery but twin two (the most energetic of the two - angelina ballerina !) had turned around again & was breech.
I can't believe how much they have grown and we are just so pleased that they are both doing well & hopefully even if they arrive early they should have few problems as they are already good weights.
I am absolutely enormous though & getting very tired (not complaining - well only a little bit!) and have little energy to do stuff - my feet & legs are swollen like puddings & now my hands have joined in - very attractive, oh & I still have the lovely belching & trapped wind to contend with .....!!
It is much harder carrying two babies than one in my experience!
Ali - the 24th in Birmingham is fine for me, only about 90 minutes drive away, thanks.
Well my apologies for the complete lack of personals but am so tired I need to go to bed but I will leave my laptop set up so can get back on tomorrow.
Hope everyone is ok
Love Mae xx |

Mae,
Great news that your two are still doing so well 5lbs aready????? Were your other babies large or are you have boys this time? A&P didn't weigh that a week further on (I was never even given EFWs at any point )
Caroline - Fab that your wriggler is showing personality already "Scan me when I'm ready, if you please!!!!" I'm thinking maybe a girlie
To all the other Nooky Nadies - lots of love and sorry no time for personals. Am reading everything, but no time to reply. Preparing for a huge promotion at work (already got it , but start the actual induction next week).
lol

Ooooh Reds! Congratulations on your promotion. How fab! Hope it doesn't take you away from us though!
Mae - Lovely to hear from you and glad all is well. Gosh! No wonder you are feeling uncomfortable if your babes are already 5lbs apiece?! You can add 2 placentas and fluids on to that - cripes!
Really excited for you now and can't wait to find out what flavours they are....
Caroline - Lovely news about your scan. Hope you manage to relax and enjoy now.
India-Jo - Welcome on board and will speak more soon.
Got to go. I am a bad girl being on here!

Cam - time your employer approved your request for working 2 days instead of 3. Makes me cross that they are so inconsiderate when it comes to work-life balance! Hope that you manage to find a routine which will work for your babies as well as you, soon.
Yes, I will definitely 'chuck' everything at it ... whatever it takes!!!
Reds - CONGRATULATIONS on your promotion! Hope it's a much better job with loads more dosh!!!!
Mae - wonderful to hear how well your little ones are doing. Make sure you keep on adding an extra sack of spuds onto your DH's belt ... so that he understands how it really feels to be carrying the twins around! Poor you ... the swelling/water retention sounds awful. Hope you are not getting too uncomfortable on top of the extreme tiredness.
Ladies - just think, at your meet-up ... you'll have at least a couple of windy ladies amongst you i.e. Mae and Caroline ... gas masks at the ready!!!
Love,
Maple

Ladies - I just cannot keep up with all your posts! Maryrose - 4000 but look at Reds - 8000!!
Congrats on the promotion Reds - what do you do??
Maryrose - I will leave you in peace about cycling again - but I so hope you do. I need some inspiration for my snow babies in a year or so!
Mae - I can't believe you are 33 weeks - what's your due date? My twins preseented exactly the same way - Finn was head down, Will was breech. But interestingly Finn is my bendy squidgy baby who literally SHOT out at birth and will be a gymnast I am sure. He also loves sleeping with his head rammed at the top corner of the cot! Will who was breech and had to be literally dragged out of me is a much stronger, solid baby who is already standing confidently and will be a fab rugby player I hope. So there you go - perhaps your 2 will be similar. Also mine were 5lbs at 36 weeks so sounds like you have 2 whoppers in there! Mine were 6lb 9 and 6lb 10 at birth!
Maple - you are such a bubbly, constant presence on this Board. Supporting everyone, caring for us all. You SO deserve luck in 2010 my love!
Caroline - great news about your scan. Yes you have reached such a great milestone. I have to say that I was still very sick until 20 weeks so I still couldn't relax and enjoy like you can now. Go girl - enjoy! And I agree with Cam - I am sure it's a boy! (but I am often wrong!!!)
Pika - how are you today?
Cam - what a nightmare about your job. That is SUCH an appalling way to treat you. Have you checked the flexi work policy? I think there is a max amount of time before they HAVE to give you a decision. Is it not worth e mailing HR and kicking them up the a** a bit?!
Mads and Indiajo - welcome. And good luck to you both.
Pip - hope you are doing ok. Hennes is great for maternity wear BTW hope you can find some!
Flossy - glamorous Flossy - how are the celebrations?
Shanders - are you still reading? Lewis must be almost walking I am sure - or is he already? Pls stay with us if you can.
Debbie - of course pls do come on 24th.
I know the meet up is stretch for some of you but I really really hope we can pull it off. I can't wait to meet my lovely cyber friends, bumps and babies x (ps I am coming alone
Have I missed someone? Yes probably well sorry
What a week we have had. Poor twins, DH and I have all been hit by a vicious tummy bug. Vomiting and bad nappies like you wouldn't believe. I am off work today as I feel so bad. I am praying DD escapes it as she is on half term next week. It's been miserable
Anyway - sending you all lots of love and hope and pma and back soon (with updated photos!!!)
Ali

Ali - Don't worry. I will post any progress when there is some...
Everyone - Been thinking about it a lot and slightly horrified to find that I feel that familiar mix of excitement and fear! I so don't want it to become the 'B end and end all' [what IS that expression about?!?!] like last time. But once you start, you really want it to work, don't you?
I will have to find a way of keeping it in perspective.
Oh and something happened yesterday that speaks volumes, really. 1 of the crew that I did NCT classes with announced she was 14 weeks P/G [by email].
My reaction was to not want to go to meet up with them on Friday, as a consequence. I'd rather avoid possible feelings it might stir up. As it so happens, I probably can't anyway, as am pushed for time this wk.
So, I guess I am broody now. I didn't feel like this when the 1st of them announced her 2nd P/G. In fact, I didn't feel a thing. It was 2 years before I felt broody again, last time too, with Will.
Anyway, 1st things 1st. Got to get DH singing from the same hymn sheet and am desperate to avoid a big barney about it. We had quite a rocky patch a while ago and now things are quite considerably better, so am treading carefully. Not easy for me. Tee hee.
Sorry for the ME post and also feel a little guilty about being thought of as greedy, as I have my 2 boys and will always be grateful.
Got to dash. Love Maryrose xxxx |

Hi LL's
Reds - huge congratulations on your promotion,I hope that things are not too stressful for you although I am sure that you are very busy - new jobs always bring lots of challenges!
How are your lovely daughters & husband doing ?
And yes to answer your question I have had big babies in the past, 8lb 11oz,7lb 10oz and 10lbs !
My middle one was only smaller because I was poorly at the end of my pregnancy & we both lost weight.
Every time I have had a scan they have told us the weights of the babies so it has been good to see them steadily increasing in weight (approx 1.5lbs each every 4 weeks!) and I have to say that I can't fault the care I have received on the NHS,it couldn't have been better. I am just very lucky to live near one of the top rated hospitals because it is all such a lottery unfortunately for some ladies and also my Consultant has twin boys himself so he is always very interested in my twin pregnancy!
Caroline - so glad that your 12 week scan was such a lovely experience & you certainly sound like you have a very active baby ! Hope you are feeling ok & can relax & enjoy your pregnancy now x
Ali - I hope that you are all feeling a little bit better sounds like you have all had a very bad time, you poor things! I hope that your DD escapes the bug !
Am looking forward to seeing updated pics of your lovely boys!
My due date is actually 21st March for 40 weeks but the consultant has said he would be looking to induce at 37 / 38 weeks if I haven't had them by then. All my other babies were overdue so I am not holding out much hope of going early but then I suppose it might be different with twins!
Your two boys sound like they were very similar inside you to the two I am carrying...it will be interesting to see what they are like when they are born! I keep saying that the baby on my right (the one that is breech) is just like it's Dad - it never sits still !!
Pip - I hope that you are ok, how are your sickness levels doing ?
I have had some cheap and cheerful maternity wear from New Look & to be honest have lived in the old lady type trousers (the ones with a stretchy waist!) from M&S for most of my pregnancy, I just keep buying a size bigger & dressing them up with nice tops. I also got some nice things from Mamas & Papas - in their sale, as their normal prices are ridiculous!!
Maple - lovely to keep up with all your posts & like a lot of the ladies on here I had clexane, steroids & various other drugs added in at our last attempt. Care were very open & said there was actually no factual evidence to support whether they made attempts more successful or not but as you know it worked for us .....it may have worked anyway of course we will never know now but we just grabbed everything they suggested after our previous failures.
Maryrose - lovely to hear from you, hope you are ok & I love the new pictures of Olly,he is just so gorgeous!
Well DP has just made my tea so better not let it get cold or I will be in trouble....he seems to think that unless he cooks for me I don't eat properly....so I am certainly not arguing !!
To everyone I have missed my apologies but I hope that everyone is well x
Love Mae xxx |

hello LLs
Just a quick post from me....been iphone-less as DH has been borrowing it since he was made redundant, and I'm worried about posting from work with everything that's happening just now.... don't want any reason to fit into any "criteria"
Mads and indiajo - welcome to this lovely board.
Caroline - so PLEASED your scan went well.
Cam - sorry work is rubbish. Can totally empathise - motivation at work isn't great with us just now.
Mae - hope you are getting to enjoy your hol into maternity
Reds - well done on your promotion - so good to hear some positive work news.
Maryrose, Maple, Cazza, Debbie, Soph, Ali and all the other LLs, thinking of you all xx

Mae, Cam and Pip - I think I have got my protocol sorted out ... who need consultants, eh? I am convinced if all the LL's pool our experiences and knowledge, we can probably out-do a 'bog standard' consultant!
I just need to crack this immunology stuff ... it may take some time (but likely to be never)! I'm sure the lovely Briony will able to cover that area for us!
Mads - hope you are bearing up well ... only 2 more sleeps to go.
Indiajo - it does get busy here some days ... I daren't being away from the BB for too long, for fear of trying to catch up with a huge no. of posts or missing out on something exciting! Hope that the witch turns up soon, so that you can get started. Will you be on the long or the short protocol?
Love to All,
Maple
