| Hello everyone i have just joined this forum and would like to say a very big welcome to everyone, and would like to support everyone on here as i feel i am in the similar boat as all you ladies on this forum. First of all i would like to address that i have 15 frozen embryo's which are due to be transferred to care nottingham and feeling very positive about the treatment at care nottingham. I underwent my first IVF treatment six months ago and unfortunately everything went well until the end of the 2WW which the outcome was a negative for me. However i did have a very large egg collection consisting of 26 eggs and 17 were fertilised and 1 egg never survived the thawing process and one embryo did which was implanted but did not get the brilliant news which i was waiting to share with my husband. i will be having my FET in six weeks time so if anyone could please give me some tips on do's and don'ts i would greatly appreciate and also what's the experience of having a treatment at CARE nottingham like and if there is any difference to the NHS treatment. Thank You |

Hi Safina,
Congratulations on having so many embryos waiting for you. I have had most of my treatment at Northampton, but did have one collection an transfer at Nottingham and the staff there were all very nice and genuine. When I came out of the room at Northampton after my pregnancy scan there was a group of nurses waiting for me to give me a big hug. I haven't had any experience with the NHS for fertility treatment as we were ineligible so went straight to Care - and we are very glad we did! I am now 12 weeks and 2 days pregnant as a result of a frozen transfer.
Do you know whether you are going to be on a medicated or natural cycle? Medicated is where you down regulate with injections first to shut down your natural cycle and natural is where they transfer the embryos back when you have tested positive for ovulation and your lining is naturally thick. Either way you will be prescribed the progesterone pessaries which are definitely the worst bit!
I didn't do anything 'special' for my FET - just took the folic acid and pregnancy vitamins. I cut down alcohol a lot, but didn't give up totally until near to transfer.
You will probably find it a great help to join one of the 'cycle buddy' threads as the support can be invaluable to help get through all of the emotional issues, especially in the 2 week wait.
The most important thing is to stay positive as there are lots of ladies like me for whom a frozen transfer has worked.
I hope everything goes well for you.
