Hi ladies,
Just wondered if anyone is looking to start treatment for another baby around July and fancies a cycle buddy?
I have a pretreatment scan next Tuesday and we are looking to have a FET with our single frostie...AKA 'Chilly Billy', in July (fast approaching!) If Chilly Billy doesnt defrost or we get a BFN then we are straight into a fresh cycle the month later. Im one of Georges girls, so have lots of lovely immune issues to add to the pot too!
Love

Hi Claire
Ooohh, good luck!! Am so excited for you. July will be here before you know it and I have everything crossed that Chilly Billy defrosts perfectly for you. Hope your scan goes well and all looks ready to go. Good luck with the intralipids, too. George does seem to be having really good success with this alternative to IVIG, so I hope it helps to do the trick for you.
Wishing you all the very best and will positively stalking your progress (hope you don't mind:) )
Beautiful new picture of Joseph. He is such a handsome little man.
Hope you find some cycle buddies to help keep you sane.
Love Maimie xx |

| Hi Claire, i am currently sniffing at the mo waiting for AF to appear which should be any day now!! I have 2 frosties in the freezer and this is my last ever go ever ever ever...really!!!! So i hope this works if not then i can get on with the other important things in my life. Unfortunately i had an ectopic last November after my last fresh cycle which considering i have had lots of cycles over the years i was pretty shocked, but we are always told this can happen, but i thought as i have had so many fresh/frozen cycles and its never happened before it makes you wonder why then??? Anyway i wish you loads of luck with your frostie, i hope mine both thaw, keep everything crossed LOL nicc x x x.i normally post on the summer siblings. |

Hi Nicc,
Tell me to shut up if you like, but how come your dregging with a FET? Ive never had one before, the forthcoming one will be my first experience of it. Always had fresh cycles.
Good luck for your scan on Monday, which clinic you at?
Im doing well, apart from another unrelated IVF issue...see my post on BB&B.
Hope this is the one for you!! And I dont believe it gets any easier, the more you do. You get to learn more and understand more which can give you more to worry about!! Ignorance is bliss!

Hi Claire,
We've already had our review with George. Got my pretreatment scan on Tuesday...having that at Manchester though as much nearer for us. They will fax the results of that over to George/Nic and then they will draw up our protocol...ready for FET in July. We are in the midst of an extension at the moment so want that out of way before we get going again! Looks like we will be cycling together!
This will be our first ever FET too! We only have the one frostie...'chilly billy'! But we both it's worth the chance adn if it's not meant to be then the plan is to proceed straight into a fresh cycle the next month.
It is strange to be opening the IVF door again, but I feel ready..im quite excited really!
Are you at Notts?
Love

Hi everyone,
Claire when you have a frozen embryo transfer you can either go for a natural cycle ie without any drugs, they basically just scan you to check your status, and pop the frosties back when it is the right time, although i had a HCG injection, not sure if they still do that now a days???? Then i had progesterone pessaries...not sure if they do that either now.For an artificial cycle as they call it they like to take over your body-hormonally i mean!!! It is better for the clinic to control you ie if they need to coast you over a weekend, or bank holiday if they do not open the clinic then.I think although you have to down reg i think personally for your peace of mind that everything is as it should be i find this way better, i have done both ways, but my cycle can be a a little bit erractic and i am not sure if i ovulate every month, so now i am taking my Climival tabs for the next week and a bit and we shall see how it all goes, they want my lining to be at least 8mm thick then it maybe aroung the 2nd june i have the transfer if my frosties thaw! Hope you find your FET o.k to do too.LOL Nicc x x x |

Hi Everyone,
Just gatecrashing to say good luck to Claire G for your pre-treatment scan hope all goes smoothly and the green light is firmly on!!
Do you know if you're having a medicated or natural FET?
Been thinking about our 3 blasts in the freezer and to be honest would just like to do a natural so I'm not all drugged up if they don't defrost!! we'll see, I'm having trouble persuading Mr Hobbit that it's a good idea at the mo!!
Keep us updated of how you get on!!
LOL

Hi ladies,
We went to Care Manchester yesterday for the scan. It's all changed since we were there last, (june 07) before we were transfered to Notts. Walked in and saw Dr Atkinson and then Dr Lowe. Dr Lowe seemed genuinely pleased to see us and Joseph, he seemed so happy for us. Lovely man!
I was quite pleased that it had changed as it didnt feel like we were taking a step back and im pleased that the scan room was a different room as I had a horrible experience in the old scan room once and I was getting a bit worked up about being scanned in there again. So all in all a far more positive experience than expected! I did feel like I should have had a tshirt on Joseph saying 'im an IVF baby!' though, didnt have anyone to look after him so he had to come!
The scan was great, they have new scan equipment from my last time and the scan lady had a good old play about with it on me! Showed me a 3D of my uterus and birth canal....amazing! Did a blood flow to my ovaries too. All looked good and my antral follicle count was 20...gobsmacked it was so good and I reckon ovaries of a 25 year old! So not bad for a mid thirty something year old bird who has paid no attention to her diet and now drinks wine most eveings since stopping BFeeding back in Dec!! Im sure the count is highre than before I had Joseph...will have to check on that!
Im going to call Nic (Georges PA) tomorrow and confirm they had the report sent, the just wait for the protocol. Want it asap so I can shop about for the drugs, still got some bits and bobs hanging around somewhere but I will have to hunt them down, which is no easy feat in the midst of the extension we are having!
Vip:- Hi to you, pleased you are joining us! Thanks for asking about me XX
Nicc:- How's things for you?
Steph:- Im sure you'll persuade Mr H to go ahead with your lovely blasts, hey you never know you may get another nat miracle! From our chat with George, I think im having a medicated cycle, but im not DRegging, from my understanding...just immune drugs (clexane, viagra, steroids etc), intralipids, and estrogen and progestrone...I think, but the protocol will confirm this.
Love

Hi Claire,
Glad all was well in your scan and hope your results come back souble quick.
Your medication sounds similar to mine except that I have to have gestone IM too - uuurrrrggg! I had a blood test the other day which confirmed the affects of interlipids on my white cells so this good!
Must say it's absolutely lovely to have this gorgeous sunshine isn't it . Went ot the beach yesterday and Oliver loved it! He was laughing and screaming in the sea trying to jump over the waves! He cried when he first went in as it was so cold but soon got used to it. He was very brave and walked up to his waist in it! I don't think they have any fear do they! Think it's a day in the garden today with a paddling pool - not quite the same but I'm sure we'll have lots of fun!
Hope you are all having a great weekend x |

| hi Guys, well i am still sniffing and taking my lovely oestrogen tabs!! I feel a bit odd not being scanned all the time? I went for a down reg scan on 17th may, next scan is not until this fri 28th! So i hope my lining is getting nice and thick....not too thick i hope, so i think we may be heading for a transfer on Tues 2nd june hopefuuly if my frosties make it, i will keep everything crossed now, i hate the last bit of waitingfor the phone cll from the clinic to say whats happened, good/bad news!!! Anyway i ahve next week as a weeks holiday, unfortunatly its half term and my ds has suddenly got a case of the real bad attitudes and he's only 7.5 yrs old, little wotsit!!! I will have to count to 100 me thinks. Hope you are all doing o.k? LOL Nicc x x x |

Hi Ladies,
Hope you are all well.
VIP:- Glad the intralipids are doing their job! Did you have a NK test done? Do you live near the sea/beach? Are you looking to have a FET or fresh cycle next time? I believe the gestone jabs are nasty...poor you x
Nicc:- How are things for you? You maybe away at the moment?
As for me...well my protocol has arrived! Here we go again! Not had a proper look at it yet, but want to get shopping around for the drugs. Feel ready for it to be honest and feel calm....maybe the panic will set in once I start pill popping!
Joseph was 18 months yesterday, cant believe it!

Hi Claire,
I've read that asda do the drugs at cost price now for IVF so defo worth checking it out - could save you a small fortune!
Gosh - didn't realise Oliver is almost the same age as Joseph - about a month between them, - where has all the time gone ? ! We live in North Wales on the coast, so ideal when the sun is shining! We are doing a fresh cycle again ..... hoping this one goes smoothly! We have 1 snowbaby which we hope to have a partner for! Our consultant has suggested we do a fresh cycle as it will increase our chances, due to my age (UURRG!) I had a full blood count test done to to check for b12 deficiency due to being vegetarian for almost 30 years! It was handy as Mr P confirmed that the interlipid infusion has lowered my white cell count. However, I will need another infusion soon.
We are staying in Manchester this weekend in some nice appartments with friends, going to see Alicia Keys in M.E.N - really looking forward to having a good few vinos and bubbly! It will be the first time we'll have left Oliver at home, with d/ps mum looking after him - I know I am going to miss the little fella !
I was very pleased to read your news on the other thread about your results xx
Hello to everybody else and hope you are well x |

Hi Everyone,
Quiet on here at the moment, hope you are all well?
VIP:- How great that there is only a month between our boys, hopefully we'll have similar age babies again! How lovely to be near the coast...im jealous! Im still to chk out drugs prices, but had heard the same about Asda. Can I ask, have you had the swine flu jab? My protocol has arrived and there's a note to say I should get it due to the immunosupresants (SP!! - It's late!), how bout you?
Nicc:- How you getting on?
Joseph had his first accident yesterday, he seemed to just loose his balance in front of my and he broke his fall with his head on a extendable extension lead, quite a long cut to his forehead...bit Harry Potter ish! and a bruise accross the cridge of his nose. I took him to A&E to be on the safe side, all ok. Ive never heard him scream like he did when he first did it and full holding of breath for seemed like a lifetime, scary! The joys of having an extension with a toddler in tow! Nearly done now though.
Hope everyone else is well?
Love

Hi Claire,
Ooohh, sorry to hear about Joseph's accident, bless, I hope he is ok now. It's horrible when they are jurt isn't it. Oliver fell on our kitchen floor a few weeks ago and I was really worried. I phoned d/p in work (he's a paramedic) and he put my mind at ease .... however, when I put him to bed I was constantly in and out every few minutes until he came home . He could tell straight away where he'd fallen as there was a lump at the back of his head. I really felt guilty about it all but can't be there 24/7. Must say he's had more than his share on falls, normally has a bit of a cry and gets up. Boys eh...into everything, little monkeys. The latest is he climbs into his highchair when he's hungry! I need eyes in the back of my head!!
Mr P said that I would be on the same protocol and the wine flu jab wasn't on last time so I don't think so. I am having to have full blood count done on Mon so will ask them to email the protocol when I get the results end of next week. Hoping to start 25th ish.
When do you start? x |

Hello Clarie G and the rest of you ladies,
I am due to start my 3rd fresh cycle on the 19 June. Cycle #1 in 2007 ended with BFN, cycle #2 in 2008 resulted in my gorgeous little boy who is now 20 months old and definately worth all those horrid injections and the stressful 2ww - he is my little angel!
We had one frostie from that cycle so we went for FET in Dec 2009 but sadly that ended with a BFN so I start DR in a couple of weeks time. I am so excited and equally nervous but it feels likle absolutely ages since I went through a fresh cycle... I hope I remember which needles are for which drugs and how to do the injections
Good luck to the rest of you

Hi Ladies,
Just wanted to pop on and say although Ive recently had the shock of all shocks recently (some of you know about it all!) I dont want to leave this chat we have going on. Would you all be ok if im still about?
VIP:- Im sure you meant 'swine' flu not 'wine' flu!!! LOL!! I havent had the jab and not sure I should be now, will prob have to chat with my GP in a couple of weeks. Are you on a long protocol when you start on the 25th?
Noodles:- Great that you have joined us! Sorry about your BFN last Dec. Fingers crossed for this cycle for you.
Nicc:- Are you still about?
Love

Heee hee, just seen the wine flu!!!! omg, think I must have it on my mind!
Claire, how are things with you? Read the other thread about twins Are you having your infusion today? The nurse I had to do mine chatted non stop and really don't know where the time went - so much better than watching the clock! I am so pleased about your wonderful news, hope you are still not in shock!
I'm due to start on s/p so not long now, however, I am still waiting for my protocol - think I'll email Alison next week to email it so I can order the drugs. I am still waiting to hear from the clinic re my complaint about my late interlipid infusion - uuurrgg.
Hi Noodles - we should be cycling quite close, your start date is my birthday! Lets hope we can join Claire and get another little one soon. Good luck to you x

Hi VIP,
It's not my thread, but I know what you mean!
I had the infusion yesterday, I just cant figure how on earth it works!!? It's a food substitute! It all went well, but it was a bit stressful as I had builders, decorators and a plumber here. Goodness only knows what they must have made of it all!?
I cant stress enough how much disbelief I am in. You read about this happening to other ladies, not me!
Great your on a SP, will go super fast! What complaint about the late intralipids, what happened?
Love

Hi Claire,
Know what you mean about the infusion ....
The nurse forgot to order my interlipids so I was a week late having it ... had it the afternoon before transfer which meant that the embies had little or no chance of progressing into a successful pg with all my immune problems! This is negligence really as my protocol stated 7 to 10 days befor transfer. Next time I'll make sure I know the date on day 1!
Great news about your scan x |
