Hi to anyone who wants to join me.
I got BFP on Sunday 11th Sept and have a date for scan Oct 5th which will be 6 weeks after EC.
We have been trying for a baby for 5 years and have had various treatments. This is our first ICSI. we had day 5 grade 1 blast transfer and have 2 grade 1/2 frosties.
Have had a look at other posts on this forum and the wait for scans appears to be worse than 2ww for tests.
Trying not to get too excited just in case also can't quite beleive it either but then don't think I will until holding my own baby.
Good luck to anyone wanting to join.
LTJ
P.S is it too soon for morning sickness,? just I felt bit queasy this morning but wasn't sure if I imagined it. Boobs very sore. |

| Hi LTJ I will join you here but cant give my scan date for confidentiality reasons. I too have nausea at times, it seems to come on strong every 2 - 3 days then just when I think its gone away there it is again. Certain foods are making me feel really sick and generally off food which is so unlike me. I thought the 2ww was unbearable but this is so tough isnt it. This is our first IVF and will definately be our only shot at this. Like you my boobs are sore and look quite different but I guess that might be the drugs!! hope you're ok? xx |

hi,
Thanks for joining, was beginning to think I was all alone haha.
Have felt really sick all day today with the only relief being when I eat, will be size of a house soon.
the waiting is so hard, trying not to be excited just in case but then wanting to be excited because had a positive result. I get quite crabby and snappy at times, mainly with those closest to me (hubby and parents).
Keep chin up, hope your nausea passes soon and you can eat again you need to keep your strength up.
Good to hear from you.
In touch soon

Hi Genette, wow thats an amazing thing to do but Im sure Im not the first person to say that to you. Hows nausea? I still feel sick today but going out for a meal to this gorgeous pub/restaurant with my best friend tonight so gonna force some food down and hopefully it will help, it seems to improve if you can actually eat although dont actually fancy anything (except Macdonalds which I honestly never eat).
Hope your ok LTJ xx |

| I have been feeling sick since abt 2 weeks after ET but thats just me, I have been pregnant before and was exactly the same. Try not to read anything into other people's symptoms as I have done because you end up driving yourself crazy and all our bodies are different, even each pregnancy is different apparently, sometimes you get sick others you dont etc etc. I think this website is such a great support but can also make you feel paranoid as you are looking for positives all the time and reading into other peoples symptoms etc, its such a rollercoaster isnt it. xxx |

HI Genette, welcome to the October scans. Your scan is the day before mine. Fingers crossed all is well, I also think what you are doing and have done is amazingly selfless.
My sickness has been almost non existant today touch wood. Am going out for a japanese meal tomorrow night with some very close friends, just hope I'll be able to stay awake. I feel constantly tired. I agree with firstandlast that although this site is great for support it can also make you paranoid when you read into everyones symptoms.
My other symptom is sore boobs....ouch. also starting to outgrow my bras, gonna have to go shopping at weekend for some parachutes I think. ha ha.
Good to see some friendly posts going through the same thing, I had a read through the september scans and some awful stories on there.
Hoping for lots of good news. firstandlast have you tried ginger tea, I found it really helped me yesterday and have been told that travel sickness wrist bands are also useful. This is really wierd as I'm a chemo nurse and all this advice is what I tell my patients to help them with their chemo nausea. A patient today said it felt exactly like when she was pregnant so now taking my own advice. Ginger beer also supposed to be good ( although not crabbies, unfortunately).
Enjoy your meal firstandlast.
Hope you continue to be symptom free genette.

Hi Genette re the scan it sounds good in principal but what if they dont see a heartbeat and its because its too early, you are going to be millions more stressed. ?I hope you are still ok and nausea not kicked in. I,m still the same, literally forcing food down - still not complaining though. LTJ I am a nurse also!! I have tried some Belvoir ginger cordial and that seemed to work once I could get it down but just the thought of it now makes me feel sick. Sure we will be ok.
Take care xx |

hi,
nuasea seems to be staying away mainly. Although now feel bit sick but am ready for my tea.
Japanese meal was lovely on Fri, not quite so sure about sober karaoke tho. hmmmm.
Been up to York last night for a cousins 40th, was quite funny observing drunken goings on haha. Managed to find a non alcoholic lager that tasted ok so didn't feel totally left out, was sick of orange, lemonade etc by 5th round so lager was nice change.
Did have to leave party at 11.30pm as was nodding off in a corner.
have spent this afternoon snoozing on the sofa and catching up on facebook.
Can't beleive weekend over already and back to work tomorrow. Booo.
Hope all symptoms are manageable and easing a bit, but does anyone else worry when symptoms resolve? No pleasing us really.
Catch up in the week, stay positive.

Hi ladies,
I hope you don't mind me joining in.
I have just got my scan date for the 17th October, I am very excited about it, although it does seem like a long wait!
Becks Blue is a really nice alcohol free beer, it looks just the same and tastes yummy, makes you feel less obvious, especially if you don't want to tell the world your news so soon.
I am starting to feel a little bit icky, but for the moment any sign is a good one! I am sure the novelty will wear off VERY soon ;o)

Hi everyone,
Hope you don't mind me joining you all.
We got our BFP yesterday and have rang Care at Notts today and informed them. However they have told me to test again in 3 days and call back with that result..... Is this normal? ( have had lots of BFPs in the last 7 days?!!)

My thoughts exactly. I just don't understand it, why give me an OTD of 25th Sep if youre not going to be interested until 28th???
May sound daft but it's really upset me to be honest.... Totally unexpected xx |

Hi babydoo and sam
welcome to you both.
Babydoo I too am at Notts and did not have to call back with another test, sounds strange to me, you should ask them why you have to wait.
Felt sick again today but at least it lived up to its name of morning sickness not all day sickness like before. absolutely shattered still but did have busy weekend. Early night for me tonight and lie in in the morning as not at work til 11am. I am trying to see these signs as a good thing.
take care everyone and keep positive. xxx

Hi Genette,
Yes I think this one is definately going to be worse that the 2WW for OTD. I also did another test this morning and came up 3+ on the digital, but there isn't another result above this one so no way of monitoring any improvements until the scan day
take care everyone and hope you are all ok xxx |

| I suppose if we keep testing 3+ we would know if it drops though. And i took it apart and the line was darker than the control line... |

| Hehehe Genette, taking the test apart did make me laugh! The things we will do to get some extra information! LOL x x I am certainly going to try it though, in a week or so! Mine is a three week wait, I guess that is the differences between the clinics. Have a good day all. |

hi all,
Sam, I have also got a 3 week wait for scan, 1 week left to wait, am feeling quite positive due to symptoms of morning sickness (just nausea not actually sick thankfully), extreme constant tiredness and sore boobs. fingers crossed.
Am tempted to take the day off work tomorrow as so very tired but will see how I feel in the morning.
am munching away on ginger biscuits every morning to ward off nausea.
Ihaven't done another test tho.
am off to bed as can't keep my eyes open.
Keep positive.
