Firstly, congrats to all you ladies with a bfp x
Had my scan today and not good news. There was a sac, yolk and fetal pole but no heartbeat. The meaurments showed the baby as 6 weeks 2 days. Consultant was lovely and said we can go back in a week but he thinks it would just be prolonging the inevitable and doesn't think anything will change.
I think I agree, but before I stop the pessaries just wondered if by any miracle has it changed for anyone else this late on? |

Hi Lou,
Whilst I would never want to give anyone false hope to cling to, I can remember one particular lady on here going through a really traumatic time with her scans. Here's her post from October 2008 - I hope it gives you some realistic reason for cautious optimism:
So sorry you are going through this, as Louise mentioned, I went through this too in February/March 2007. It all started with my official pregnancy test result being boarderline, but did get a positive result 2 days later. Went for an early scan at 5wks +6 to see an empty sac and was told I'd had a missed miscarriage but was booked in for another scan a few days later. The sac was still empty but they thought they saw a second sac behind the empty one. So was back in again a week later, the empty sac was shrinking but we could fully see the second sac. There was definitly something in the sac but no heartbeat - this was at about 7wks + 3. So was sent away again, for 10 days this time and my final scan was at 8wks + 6 and we finally saw a heartbeat. Jack was measuring 7 and half weeks not the nearly 9 weeks he should have been so assume that he implanted late. Although I wonder if my body was trying to sustain the failing embryo and therefore Jack was behind - who knows?? The consultant and nurse were gob smacked to say the least. When they sent me away from the third scan (where we saw Jack but with no heart beat) they said that it was my choice whether I had the fourth scan and I should think about whether I wanted a D and C or to miscarry naturally. Thank God I went for the last scan.
I do keep an eye out for these posts and as hope was what got me through those four weeks i like to pass on my experience - and it can work out well. Unfortunately most of the storys don't seem to have a happy ending but I have seen others who have gone on to have healthy pregnancies and babys. Moby went through something similar at the same time as me - and she also had a healthy baby boy.
So do keep hoping, Jack and I will keep our fingers crossed for you.
Love
Sammy xx
I really hope things work out as well for you.

Oh Lou
Been keeping my eye out for your post, so sorry it was not the best news, i'd say wait a week and have another scan and see what that brings.
Stay strong, thinking of you and will be waiting for you next post.

| Thank you both. Very hard right now but I am lucky to have my little who is keeping me positive through all this. |
