Evening ladies

sorry not been on for a while.

LTJ, Dizzee and Phoenix congratulations on your scans Very Happy sounds like everything is ticking along nicely.

Sam I was shocked to hear your news, as if it isn't hard enough to go though IVF without having to go through what you're going through now. Everything crossed that its all ok in the end. Hope they don't keep you waiting too long for the results.

afm - had my scan at CARE when I was almost 9 weeks and everything was fine and they have now discharged me. Then out of the blue last Monday my back went on me. One minute I was putting on a pair of socks and the next, I couldn't move. The worst of it was that the pain was sending spasms round my abdomen and I was worried sick that it had done some harm to our baby. I've been confined to the house all week as I could hardly walk and there was no way I could sit down. Anyway, somehow I managed to drag myself to the EPU today and thank goodness everything is ok. I'm now 10+ weeks and still can't believe it. Just wish the back pain would go so that I can enjoy being pregnant

Hello all
I was on the awaiting scans thread with you all.
I haven't been on for a while so I do apologise and hope you are all well. Have been trying to relax and focus on other things as i very quickly found myself stressing about wether everything was going ok.

At 10weeks our GP ordered an emergency scan due to all my symptoms suddenly dropping off. We had the scan and was so relieved to see that both babies were measuring well with strong heartbeats and we're wriggling around Smile
I've since invested in a Doppler fetal heart rate monitor which I bought from Amazon which I can listen to once every 7-10 days for just a few minutes. Had a listen yesterday morning and found both heart beats. If you're worried I recommend getting one however be careful not to use them too often. Have my dating scan on 24th.

Sam - I hope you and DH are ok. I know it's easier said then done, but try and remain positive. I'm thinking of you xxx

3w - good to hear from you I'm so glad the pregnancy is progressing well and baby is ok! It's amazing I'm so pleased for you after all you've been through.

Its horrible about the back pain but sounds like you've pulled something in your back. Have you been to a chiropracter? I know you won't want to do anything extreme with being pregnant but they may be able to determine what the issue is. There may be something you can do that's none invasive to correct it?

Babydoo - glad everything is ok with your twinnies all the symptom variations can be worrying I know. I keep feeling the same sort of thing but apparently symptoms can start to ease from 10w anyway. From 8 to 10 are supposed to be the worst!

I'm starting to feel slightly better this week. Still not normal but haven't thrown up since Sunday morning which is an improvement Smile

F&T - hope you ok hun x

xx

Hello Ladies! All is well in the world again! The CVS came back clear, such a relief. The worst 4 days of my life. From 1 in 8 chance of Downs to being clear is a long way! Still at least I know the little one has had a full health check.

Thanks for all your support, I REALLY needed it.

Surprised)

That's fantastic news Sam whoop whoop Smile !!!

The don't do the nuchal translucency scan at my hospital, only the blood test, and I was little annoyed initially. But after what you've been through I'm quite glad, as the bloods seem to give a better indication from what's happened here.

So pleased everything is ok with you and baby bean Sam!!!

Dizzee - I'm hoping I'm not too bad, though DH has had to listen to the wretching a lot Smile xx

Hope everyone else is ok?! x

Hello all,

A quick question...when have you been told to stop taking the pessaries, 12 weeks, but 12w1d, 0r 12w6d????

Hi Sam,

I've been told to stop taking them at 12w. I don't think a day or two either side makes any difference. By this stage the placenta has completely taken over from Hcg and corpus luteum, and I think they only continue to 12w to be completely safe.

Hi Guys,

I stopped taking the pessaries yesterday and today I have woken up with a bit of blood? Do you think this is a result of stopping the pessaries? I will call Care at 8 to ask too..........just hope it isnt a result of the cvs test.......

Very worried..........

Sam,

Have you managed to speak to Care? I don't think stopping the pessaries should cause any bleeding, but have never cycled before so no expert. I hope everything is ok xxx

Care said that it shouldn't cause bleeding, but I have been to the doctors and they have suggested that I continue taking them as it can't hurt. So they have given me a new prescription. I am also going for another scan in the next couple of days.

It is only very light bleeding but it isn't good. Fingers crossed it will all be ok. After the CVS we told everyone the good news this weekend. Seems like we are tempting fate by telling people! Also we are supposed to be going on holiday on Thursday!

I will kepp you updated. I hope all is well with you xxxx

Hi Sam,

I don't know if this is any use to you but I bleed at 4w, 6w & 8 weeks. Although I wasn't on pessaries I had alot of internals, and scans etc etc. It turned out to be my cervix which was very irritated and had bled a little Sad

Hope everyone is well

Thats good you've managed to get booked in for another scan - fingers crossed all is well lots of +++ve vibes.

As Dizzee says it may be your cervix reacting to the pessaries ceasing. And your docs right, continuing them can't hurt.

I'm ok have 12w scan tomorrow hoping everything is still ok

Hi Ladies,

Scan went really well today - baby measuring 12w1d which is ahead of where they should be - by IVF dates I'm actually 11w3d now. They changed due date to 03 June which I didn't complain about, as would get induced 12days post EDD. So would have less time to wait if I go overdue! Also helps with my mat leave at work for starting earlier Very Happy

They don't currently do a nuchal translucency at my local hospital but apparently the sonographers are in training, and lady asked me if she could have a go. Measurement came back at 1.05mm so in the normal range so think we're low risk now.

Sam - hope all is well at your scan, keeping my fingers crossed for you x

Dizzee - it was amazing its wonderful how much baby had changed in 2 weeks since last scan. Baby gave us a little wave too Smile

F&T - how are you hun, hope you are ok? When are you due to get started again?

xxx

Phoenix - i cannot tell you how happy (and a little jealous) I am for you! It is fab that everything is going well for you.

i am going again some time either January or Feb. i have my review today but it was pretty worthless as i was expecting them to have protocol ready etc etc but it was more like everything went well, you got pregnant, we will speak to you soon when you are ready to go. Ok well what a waste of a day that was.

xx

Hi Ladies, hope everyone is ok.

Sam, hope the scan goes well. I've got everything crossed for you.

Phoenix - so glad your scan went well. I was going to mention the progesterone pessaries as well. Did anyone have ther treatment at CARE Manchester? Its just that I've got to wean myself off the pessaries and the Oestrogen tablets rather than just stopping them. Dont know if the advice is different if you use donor eggs.

My back is slowly getting better, which is just as well as I can't believe how many appointments I have got next week.

Mon - dating scan

Tues - appt with midwife

Wed - earlybird / parentcraft class

Fri - booking appt

Its finally starting to feel real

f&t - thank you for thinking about me. Glad to hear you will be starting again soon. I will be following your progress and I really hope it all works out for you next time.

Jo - glad you at least have a date when you can get going again, but it's a shame they didn't have a protocol ready for you. All the waiting is a killer I know! Just hope you can have a nice Christmas at least its a bit of a distraction x

3w - glad all is progressing well you do have a busy time next week! In terms of the pessaries Im at Manchester and I've just been told to stop taking them at 12 weeks. I wasn't told to wean myself off them or anything, but maybe that is what has caused problems for Sam. What is your dose, I wonder if that makes any difference? I'm on 200mg twice a day x

Hi All,

The good news is that little bean was a happy little soul on Monday night, we got a wave too! (I think s/he has had its face on screen more times than Lady Diana, hopefully no more additional scans will be needed.) The bleeding lasted until yesterday afternoon, I am convinced it was a phantom period, it was just like it and lasted for about the right time? Is this possible? It also could be to do with the pessaries, I have started to take them again, maybe I will reduce my dosage in a few weeks and see what happens. I am on 200mg twice daily, but Care messed up my original prescription, so I do have a few packets of 100mg at home...we will see.

F&T I am thinking of you, it must be very hard and frustrating not to get started straight away, but I guess you have to trust that they are the experts and if there is a delay it is for a good reason. Frustrating though! You seem very positive, keep it that way!

Phoenix - so glad your scan went well! It must have been such a relief and you can start to believe it now.

I have told people at work today and it is starting to feel real! Although I am still a little bit wary that something else is going to go wrong, seems that whenever we start enjoying it we get kicked down again, but I am sure that this time we can enjoy it.

I am off on holiday tomorrow to sunny Lanzarote with DH, for a week of doing nothing, but soaking up the vitamin D. Woohooo! Although I haven't started packing yet and I am not sure I have any summer clothes that fit! LOL, oh well, lucky we have a private pool ;o)

Take care ladies and thanks again! You guys are amazing xx

Sam - thats great news so pleased all is well with baby bean Smile whoop whoop!! It may well have been a phantom period - I know hormone levels can fall off when you would normally have had your period. A friend of mine didn't know she was pregnant until about 10 weeks as she'd had 2 periods as normal so it can happen (PS her baby was fine)

It may be best to just keep taking the progesterone all the way through if doctor will prescribe. It's not expensive and won't do any harm.

Hope you have a fab holiday wish I was going away! Not long until Christmas now though then I've 2 whole weeks off yeah!

xx
