Hiya Saw,
I don't think we've "spoken" before on this forum? Love the photo of your cheeky boy
We'll be doing a fresh cycle on my next cycle (long protocol Northampton) so should be DR about Christmas Eve so it would be nice to have some buddies.
Love Noggin xxx
Just seen you've got a 19 year old daughter so think we might be similar ages? (I'm 39 next month, depressing...) |

Hi Saw and Noggin!
I'm jumping back on that rollercoaster again too! Got my pre treatment scan next tues and if all's well then will start DR on 13th Dec. I had my doubts about starting this over Christmas but DP is so keen to start that we're just going for it! It will be lovely to have some buddies to share the experience with. We're at Northampton too!

Hi Siobon (fellow ICSI Northampton buddy!)
Looks like you'll be leading the way:) I think Judy said Northampton only close the monday and tuesday after Christmas do you think you're likely to have EC before or after Christmas going on your previous cycles?
Right off to collect Joshua from nursery, he should be sound asleep so we're off boot shopping for me in Milton Keynes what fun!!

Hi everyone
Please can I join you too? My drugs arrived this morning. If AF arrives on or before 30th November I can start my short protocol. Unfortunately AF is due to arrive on December 1st so I don't think I'll get to start until the new year. Oh well. Everything happens for a reason.
Hope you're all well.

Morning all,
Having a very lazy Sunday I'm still in my pyjamas!
Saw you're a spring chicken!!
Welcome mixedspice5 hope your dates work out so you can squeeze another cycle in this year.
Am I right in thinking we're all trying for a sibling?
Just caught sight of my wobbly tum in the wardrobe mirror almost contemplating doing some sit ups... Nah the urge has passed!!

Thanks Noggin
Love the name by the way!
Yes I am trying for number 2. My usually bang on 28 days cycle appears to have started early. My acupuncturist said this might happen but I was sceptical. Thank goodness I ordered my drugs early! I was going to order them in December as I assumed I would miss the Christmas cut off and start in January. I need to scrutinise my protocol and practise my injection technique on an orange!
Hi to SAW and Siobon.

Hi all!
Yes, very weird that we're all trying for a sibling!
It's been so long since I cycled that I can't remember how long it takes to down regulate! I seem to think it's about 2 weeks but I think there's something they can do to delay things if it coincides with the clinic closing over Christmas. I guess I'll find out more on tues when I go for my scan - I think that's new too, can't recall having one of those before we started last time. I'll be doing LP by the way.
Noggin, hope the boot shopping mission was successful. Do they have the xmas display/carousel outside John Lewis in MK yet? Need to take Lucy, she loves it there!
SAW, How exciting that you're starting on weds! Glad you got the opportunity to have a last blow out, mine will be next friday for an xmas night out with my NCT buddies and the following weekend to Brussels for the Christmas markets!
Sounds like you've had a lovely weekend lazing and watching films. It's nice when the little ones will actually sit for more than 5 mins and watch the film!
Mixedspice, fab news that Af arrived early! Good luck with the injections. Are you having the injection training again? I asked if it was absolutely necessary and they told me NO but made it very clear that if I messed up it would be my responsibility so I'll probably just go for a refresher!

Blimey SAW that was a close call! We both nearly missed the boat! Thanks for the welcome. Best of luck with the injections!
Siobon - I was thinking of ringing in the morning for a refresher but I'm worried it's too short notice. Was thinking of asking DH as he's a doctor but I'd rather go to CARE as DH doesn't have any experience of these meds.

Hi SAW
I'll start tomorrow as that will be classed as day 1. I'm going to ring CARE first thing in the morning to see if I can have a refresher. I did my injections at night last time so I'll do that again. Hopefully DS won't wake up whilst I do them!

Hi Ladies,
I'm also hooked on I'm a celebrity! Poor Fatima....
SAW bet you had a few palpitations when you realised you start tomorrow! I have fond memories skiing years ago and having gluhwein I'm intrigued why your legs were aching after your works Christmas do???
Mixedspice How exciting starting tomorrow. How often do you see your acupuncturist? I hated acupuncture really painful so not sure whether I'll do it again. Our first cat was called Noggin (black cat) so I chose him for luck! On our last cycle at times I was doing injections in toilets with Joshua watching he was fascinated!
Siobon yes the display is outside John Lewis. The carousel is there and they've got a train this time. Did you go in the summer with the beach theme? Joshua loved running over to other kids sand castles and destroying them! I found a lovely pair of Bertie boots in House of Fraser so a successful trip!
Better go to bed I suppose...
Love Noggin xx |

Grrr - AF is not behaving! It usually starts light in the evening then is fuuly established by lunchtime the next day. But this time there's still hardly anything. Just rechecked protocol and the last day to start as day 1 is Wednesday. Hurry up AF!
Noggin [/b] - I got a bit mixed up as this protocol is different to my previous one. I call CARE on day 1 then have a scan. I start stims on day 2 but then start the other meds in about a week. I've been having acupuncture weekly for about a month. My acupuncturist may increase sessions once I start my protocol and around EC and ET. You're right - it is a horrible sensation when the needles are turned. Almost like an electric shock! What are your new boots like? Bless your little boy sitting and watch you injecting! |

Hi girls,
Noggin - Yes, I was sooooo mortified with myself! what an ejit! lol oh well at least i realised in time well the sore legs were from dancing/walking so much on Fri night, we were dressed as Pink Ladies / T-Birds so alot of singing and dancing had to be done lol x
Mixedspice - I have everything crossed that she gets into full flow asap..... bloody typical ay? when you don't want her she comes! x
Siobon - hope everything is good with you hun? x
AFM - Well first injection was a 'iccle sore, but it's done and we're off! I wanted a small refresher so found a leaflet by Aberdeen fertility clinic with step by step on how to prep & inject buserelin, worked a treat! I will now DR until just after Christmas as my clinic closes for Christmas week, I still find it surreal that these are, give or take a day, the exact same timings as with my DS. Well off to bed in a mo (we are an hour ahead here).

Hi girls and welcome Jaybee
SAW your Christmas Do sounded fab! Glad the first injection wasn't too bad do you go for leg or tum?
Mixedspice hopefully AF is behaving for you! My boots are black, calf length with 7 small buckles going down the outside (top to ankle) horizontally (if that makes sense?)
Siobon how did your pre treatment scan go?
Jaybee where are you having your treatment?
I had a FET back in July. I had a scan on day 6 of my cycle (at our review) started DR June 27th continued with the buserelin and at some point started Progyna (?) hormone I think oestrogen tablets to thicken my lining up. 1st August in the afternoon I had transfer with a call in the morning to say the 2 cell embryo survived the thaw 100% the 4 cell one lost 2 cells. Both were put back but it didn't work...
I was however very negative and worried they'd both take and end up with twins. So lots of PMA!!
From what I can gather you can have a medicated or non medicated frozen transfer so it might be worth asking at your review which one they'd recommend and success rates. Also would they thaw them all out and how many could you have put back. I know Northampton prefer medicated FET so they can control the transfer date (so it doesn't fall on a sunday!)
I stood on the scales yesterday and was 11 stone 1lb then 10 stone 13lbs this morning I will start exercising next month...
Love Noggin xx |

Im at northampton noggin. I have three to thaw so I dont know if they would try all three or just two as before but thats if they all thaw ok. Its weird but last time I was so convinced it would work and yet this time im scared to death even though Ive been here before as such!
Ive got the review next week so I,ll find out more then but its all so confusing..... |

Me again!
Jaybee just saw your post on the general forum.
FET is frozen embryo(s) transfer. DR is down regulating (the buserelin injections you probably did last time).
I wouldn't be surprised if they suggest thawing all 3 out and putting the best 2 back but I'm guessing! Maybe you can have 3?
I'm 39 next month so it will be nice to cycle with someone my age
Bit of a personal question but was wondering why it's taken 2 years to get back try again? (don't feel obliged to answer!)
Thought of more questions for you to ask...
Were there any problems during the embryo transfer did you have a nice thick lining?
Could they do anything different to help with implantation?
Love noggin x |

Hi Jaybee. Welcome to the thread and good luck with your FET.
Noggin your boots sound lush. I am terrible for buying too many pairs!
AF has been a pain - still hardly anything. I rang CARE all stressed out as the deadline for starting before Christmas is tomorrow. The nurse was lovely. She conferred with her colleagues and the medical director but said as I thought I it has to be a full, proper flow to start. She promised to get all the other nurses together to pray and do a little dance for my AF to kick in properly! I think it's working as it's getting heavier and I went to bed early with cramps. Fingers crossed that she is here with avengeance tomorrow!
SAW - I'm glad your first injection went well. It's definitely the scariest one!
Hi to Siobon - hope you're well.

Hi Everyone,
I spoke to Noggin on the trying again thread and Noggin suggested I come and join you all.
There are so many similarities,I'm trying again for a sibling for my Daughter too at Northampton.
I will hopefully start in the new year but I can't give too much away as I am egg sharing.I'm starting to get excited and it will be nice to join your thread and chat to you all.
