Happy New Year Ladies

AFM - All good here, had my DR scan last week, all looking good, start stimms on the 4th (Weds) with my next scan booked for the 11th.

AFM - Barcelona this weekend, it has come round so quickly! so lots of form sorting and form filling done, prepping all our previous notes from Care into a file... didn't realise how many notes there would be from just 1 cycle lol! Them poor trees! So hopefully by Saturday afternoon we will have an idea how quickly and when we will be starting our next cycle Smile

and then we can chill and relax and do a bit of sightseeing - I think DH wants to visit Camp Nou Stadium lol! Men and their football!

Evening Ladies,

Denny - Good Luck with your scan tomorrow! I hope those follies are growing nicely Smile

Vip - Good Luck to you too!! for your scan on Fri... I am sure all will be fine x

AFM - Barcelona was great! The weather was lovely too! DH and I walking around without coats and the locals were all wrapped up in heavy coats, hats gloves and scarves Laughing

Hotel was only 10 mins walk from clinic etc.. Staff/Drs etc were all really lovely and felt we came away with a lot more information about are forthcoming tx...(and a suitcase full of drugs!) I got my new protocol Smile

and start our new cycle hopefully in a few weeks time! We should have a donor within 3 wks but could take up to 6 wks max Just got to email them with a query on when I start with my pills (sure consultant said CD1 of next period) can't believe I took in allsorts of info given and I forgot the important bit when she said to start taking the pills! what a numpty! Smile

Hi Footsteps

How are you doing, not long to go for you before you start..........sounds positive from your meeting in Barcelona and you are right it is a lovely place.

Did you sort when to start taking your pills? Glad you now have a plan of action in place.

Agree about the locals we used to live abroad and this time of year were wrapped up with the holiday makers in shorts and tshirts - brrrrrrrr..................

Beautiful day here today, sun shining so going to go for a walk with my darling DH and puppy dog.

All good here thanks, scans last Weds & Fri, all positive with several follies of good sizes and doing their stuff and had grown ninely between scans, back tomorrow and then hopefullly EC Weds Very Happy

Then onto the scary bit to see if any of them are normal with the array.............mmmm DH keeps making me laugh saying if they can find a normal one between the two us us then there will be no stopping us....

He keeps telling me that I am allowed no stress at all this week - should be fun running a business with 40+ staff - though they are all pretty good (whoops is that tempting fate) and luckily a relatively quiet time of year - she says, and my secretary is good too.

The only other person that knows what we are doing is my Mum so as far as work I just keep saying I am working on projects (that bit is true) and quieter in my home office...........

Right off to enjoy some sunshine, take care, will update after tomorrow...........gotta be up real early - yuck!

Denny that's fab news! Its amazing how much and how quickly those follies grow in just a matter of a few days Smile

I will be crossing everything for you and pray that you will get through this next scary bit with flying colours x
When I first started my cycle I was scared about the stimming injections... I look back now and think thats the easy bit lol! Take note of DH and ensure you relax and try and have a stress free week!

DH said to me when we get to the 2ww on our next cycle he is going to suspend me feet first from the ceiling and I am not allowed to do anything lol!

AFM Barcelona are going to ring me tomorrow... as I got DH to call them Sat whilst I was in work, due to both my e-mails sent Thurs & Fri are not showing in my sent messages in my 'private area' of their website.. so got him to call them to check if they had recieved my e-mails, but only emergency staff in etc Lesson learnt... take notes in future! Laughing

Its been cold but sunny here too today... hope you enjoyed your walk with DH & doggie. I haven't been out today, spent today chilling (while DH was at work) and packing to go down to Reading for a 2 day range presentation with work.. so I am looking forward to that. So I will keep intouch via my mobile.

Suspended from ceiling.... Hmmm it could catch on and be fun and entertaining and make the 2WW pass by a little bit quicker lol!

AFM due to being in Reading since Mon night kept missing calls from Barcelona and they left several voicemails regarding my last cycle day date in order to start treatment.... and then an e-mail from the co-ordinator informing us that our clinical records have been reviewed and are complete and to contact them when we want to start treatment... of which I have done tonight. However I am not sure if they had probs with their email and actually got my list of queries??? Too tired to sort it out tonight, due to long days, catching up with a lot of former colleagues that I have worked with over the last 20 yrs, late nights, early starts, lack of sleep as hotel room was too hot even with the window open and a teeny bit of alcohol hic! Laughing

Hi Ladies

So pleased to see things seem to be progressing nicely for you both Very Happy

Sorry to have gone quiet, since I last posted to say life has been hectic would be an understatement. But we are now living in Cornwall in our rented cottage, trying to make it as cosy and homely as possible and getting used to life down here.

My 12 week scan was Dec 22nd, and I got myself so worked up that day (scan wasn't til 7:30pm), fully expected my consultant to say 'sorry there's no heartbeat' or similar. But he started and there on the screen was this wriggling bouncing around baby image !! It was just amazing, and DH's face was an absolute picture !!

Everything looked normal, and I had the full nuchal test. At my age the chances of downs are 1 in 33 births, but from my combined scan and blood results my probability in 1 in 661 ! my consultant actually called me himself at 7pm the next night so i had the results before the Christmas break. He said he could see absolutely nothing to be concerned.

Had dreadful nausea until about 11 weeks, that has thankfully passed, but just get tired really easily now. I'll be 17 weeks tomorrow, due June 29th. New midwife here is lovely and on Monday she brought a machine to listen to the baby's heartbeat as I couldn't wait til the 20 week scan.

So as time goes on i'm getting more relaxed about this pregnancy. Bump and boobs growing at an alarming rate Very Happy

Enjoying being 'fat' !!

I continue to think of you both and hope you both get that positive result !

Kitkat its great to hear from you, I was getting worried! I am so happy everything is o.k and you are blooming nicely Smile

Wow you have had a lot going on! A Cottage in Cornwall sounds lush Smile

it will be fabulous in the summer... and even better when the baby makes his/her appearance Smile

Almost half way! I bet you and DH were absolutely over the moon seeing your little one wriggling about! Glad to hear that you are more relaxed about everything... and being 'fat'! Laughing

Keep us updated and June will be here before you know it! Smile

Barcelona contacted me for a few details in order to start tx soon... just got to sort out a few queries with them (again!) so now their e-mail system appears to be working again, I will re-send tonight, but other than that we should be starting our next cycle in a few weeks Smile

We have an appointment with Care tomorrow with the co-ordinator & counsellor as we joined their donor register so we can keep every option available to us well and truly open.

Kitkat, lovely to hear from you, sounds like you have been a busy little bee, can't believe how far you are already and your results are excellent - summer baby how fab, enjoy being fat!!!

Quick update up from me..............

Eight eggs collected yesterday, seven mature, six fertilised - the next step for us is the Array testing which is being done today/tomorrow to check for normal eggs - if we have any will be ET on Sat for us, fingers crossed!!!!

One step at a time..............

Got horrible tummy ache today though, kinda in the middle of my abdomen - boo hoo.

Well we are driving to our counselling session and appt with co_ordinator. The weather is awful.. glad I am not driving! Heavy rain and motorways don't ooze me with confidence LOL!

Morning Ladies

Denny I hope you are well and managed to get some embies on board yesterday x

Kitkat Cornwall weather sounds great! even in the winter Laughing

Meeting with co-ordinator was o.k... felt like a name on a list tbh, details very rushed through and told not to call for at least the next 4/5mths... well hopefully won't have to if all goes well in Spain Smile

Think we needed to see counsellor after that appt not before Laughing

Spain called me on Fri to inform me to start taking the contraceptive pill they have prescribed on CD1 this coming week. (Do they not know I want to get pregnant Laughing

) I have to call them on the same day and they will inform me of date to take depot shot etc... it is quite diff from the protocol we will be on for down regging here in the UK and only 1 injection yippee! Smile

but as long as they both work in the same wayI don't mind!

Well dry and windy here today.. off to take my Niece ice skating with my sister eek! I haven't had a pair of skates on my feet for decades this could be fun Laughing

and as for my Niece and sister they have never been ice skating ever!

AFM-Well I survived ice skating on Sunday and managed to stay upright Laughing

My poor niece went down as soon as she got on the ice Smile

but it didn't put her off and wants to go on a more regular basis much to my sisters dismay! My sister was absolutely terrified but managed to get about Laughing

Think it could be my little treat once a month Laughing

Well AF arrived today so contacted clinic and have now started my tx Smile

On the pill as from today, and then got to have my depot shot in 2wks on the Sat when Drs are closed! Typical! so Drs are going to call me tomorrow to arrange for one of the nurses to do it in the local walk in centre Smile

Then once next AF arrives I start to use the HRT patches for approx 2 wks and should hopefully be going back to Spain 1st week in March for ET Smile

just praying & hoping that DH swimmers do their job and fertilize x

Hope all is good with you !

AFM, started getting a sore throat Friday night, by Saturday evening full blown horrible cold, haven't slept properly since, and now coughing so much I swear my head is going to explode. No meds at all that I can take, desperate for some cough medicine Sad

So just keep on with inhaling steam, gargling with TCP, and sipping water/juice/tea constantly to keep this cough at bay (failing miserably) which is making me wee even more...... oh the joys of pregnancy, but I wouldn't have it any other way Very Happy

I bought a fetal heart monitor off Amazon, like the midwife had, and listened to baby's heartbeat yesterday cos was worried, but still nice and strong at 148 beats per minute. Poor little mite will be all shaken up with all this blummin coughing.

I would be listening to heartbeat all the time lol! fascinating stuff Smile

I hope your cough & cold have jogged on by now... nothing worse than coming down with cold/flu and not being able to take anything for it... very frustrating Sad

A colleague of mine... whose wife is 7mths pregnant slipped on the stairs and ended up cracking a rib (thankfully her & baby are both fine) and she couldn't have any x rays or take anything for the pain Sad

Well I have had an awful week to say the least! Ended up being at the dentist after breaking a wisdom tooth and ended up being given antibiotics for tooth infection in another wisdom tooth... which kicked off after I had broken the other tooth Sad

Called & e-mailed clinic to ask if I can take my antibiotics which I had to start Weds night... Thurs afternoon they called to say they advise me not too?? had already taken some prev night and 1 that morn... so haven't taken anymore, thankfully tooth not hurting since visit to dentist and dentist has booked me in Tues to extract which I am considering cancelling and see how it goes (I think it was neuralgia.. not that I am an expert lol) Also, I am on day 9 of AF so far, normally only bleed approx 4-5 days ... so I have just had to e-mail clinic as I am due to have my decapeptyl injection one week tomorrow and I am a bit concerned as to whether my prolonged bleeding will make any difference to my tx. Arrgh!! Been really busy in work all this week working 13hr shifts for a big director visit today... which went extremely well Smile

So quite a stressful week so far... see what tomorrow brings Smile

roll on Sunday.. it could be a pj day!

Evening ladies x

Just a quick update from me... finally finished AF (14days long!) clinic have assured me that it is nothing to worry about and the decapeptyl injection is to still go ahead on Saturday as planned. Finish taking the pill next Weds then as soon as day one of next AF arrives I start on HRT patches... so it shouldn't be too much of a wait after that (could be approx 2wks) when we will get our phone call to go back to Barcelona for ET. So almost on our way again!

Been back to dentist today re:tooth infection and told him that I hadn't taken my antibiotics and why, but tooth has been fine Smile

so he is prepared to leave well alone until after my cycle and then call him when done, unless I have any more problems! he wished me luck and said lets get you pregnant first before we do anything else ??? I think he probably didn't realise what he was saying Laughing

but it did make me giggle! and DH too!

I hope you are both doing well and keeping wrapped up and warm in this bitterly cold weather x

Off to have a shower and get my fleecy PJs on... then catch up with the soaps while hubby is on nights Smile

Hi Footsteps

Exciting times !! Keeping everything crossed for you Smile

Had my 20 week scan yesterday, it was amazing the detail we saw as she checked each organ. Even saw the chambers of the heart !! All is OK and baby spot on for due date of June 29th. We asked if she could see what sex, but the position the baby was in made it difficult. So not conclusive, but probably a girl. Still so hard to believe she's inside me, even though I felt her move last night and again this afternoon Very Happy

Half way already..... eek !

Morning ladies,
Wow Kitkat half way there already! It must have been amazing seeing your little one and in such detail too! Technology is fantastic!

Well I am still sat in the local walkin centre and what a polava trying to get someone to administer my injection! Everything had been arranged by the doctor, but no one wanted to take responsibility if I had any kind of reaction to it as it is Spanish medication and not being used for the original purpose of the medicine etc... But hey ho all done now and I am sat in the waiting room being monitored before they let me go home. Been here nearly 3hrs already! Nothing ever goes straightforward for me lol!

Kitkat how is things with you? things are moving on really quickly for you now Smile

how exciting!

AFM - AF started today so now final leg of this part of the cycle and started with the HRT patches today.. 1 every 3 days for the 1st week and then 2 every 3 days after that! So could be called to go back to Barcelona for ET anytime after 2wks on the patches but could be on them up to approx 50 days.. just got to wait for the phone call. It seems weird as I don't feel like I am cycling at all?? I think its probably because I am not being monitored/scanned and being informed of how things are going (for me) It will probably become more surreal once we get the call to go back over... just have to wait patiently till then. Well I am off work this week on holiday... so gonna just chill and maybe do a some spring cleaning lol! I was going to cancel this week but decided against it as could be longer before we go back to Barcelona so I have forfeited a week I had booked in June for my birthday Sad

but still got 2 wks booked for July - no plans of going away.. but we will see!

AFM - seem to be getting bigger by the day, and can definately feel baby moving around, which feels totally natural and not weird at all ! The movements aren't big/hard enough to be felt from the outside, and DH is desperate to feel them. I can't wait for him to feel them too Smile

Saw the consultant obstetrician last week, routing referral cos of my age, but he's quite happy with me, and the scans so far. He has suggested 2 more scans just to check growth, and regular bp checks as us older mums are more susceptable to high bp, which can affect the placenta, so wants to ensure baby is getting everything he/she needs. So I'm not complaining, being well looked after, and get to 'see' little one a couple more times before meeting in person Smile

Also found out from my work that I have to use all my holiday before start of mat leave, which means I have 8 weeks to take before end of June !

Afternoon,

Sorry not posted on here for a little while. Week off was nice and relaxed and weather wasn't too bad either Smile

started my hrt patches 14 days ago and got a call this morning from Barcelona to tell us to be there Monday! So had to call DH as I was in work and he is on nights lol to get up and book flights and hotel for Sunday! So all done by 10am and panic over! Just got to get packed now when I get home tonight lol! Excited and nervous at the same time as we so pray for progress with fertilization this time round! pma pma pma Smile

Kitkat fab news that you are being well looked after! And more chances to see your little one Smile

are finding out what your having or saving it as a surprise? It won't be too long now before you finish from work! How exciting! Plenty of time to chill and get last minute preparations done before the little one makes an appearance Smile
