Hi All

I've not been on here for ages as after my trauma back in March I was so scared of anything bad happening so decided not to post.

I hope you are all ok? I've not managed to keep up with much of your news but wanted to let you know the outcome following my cycle with some of you back in Jan/Feb and the trauma that followed.

Well I managed to get through my pregnancy very well with my twins, got to 32 weeks and my consultant said she would see me at 36 weeks as everything going very well and would then plan a c-section for 38 weeks which is w/c 17/10/11. I didn't make it that far, got to 36 weeks on 3 October and got took in as BP high and protein in urine and urates getting higher which are signs or pre eclampsia. Consultant reviewd me the next day and decided to do c-section at 36 + 2 on 5 October where I had 2 twin boys, James William 5.5lb & Luke Robert 5.4lb so we are over the moon. Stayed in for 10 nights and only came out on Thursday 13/10/11 as Luke had to go into special care as needed help to maintain his blood sugar. All ok now and we are home and loving these special little miracles. Just before the section my consultant said she didn't think they would survive after the operation as she had to poke around in my uterus and thought I would miscarry the next week so she said they are definately fighters. So I hope this gives everyone hope as these are definately IVF miracles.

Good luck to everyone

Hi Jo Jo,

That is so spooky I was only thinking about you the other day and wondering how you were getting on and if you would post us an update. You did so well to get to 36 weeks with twins, well done you. I bet you are absolutely over the moon with your amazing little men, I bet they are just gorgeous, make the most of every single second with them because it just goes so quickly, before you know it they will be all grown up. Make sure you take good care of yourself aswell, having a c section really takes it out on you and you need to give your body time to heal.

Im so pleased for you hun, big big hugs and massive congratulations.

AFM - I still check the boards, but I am more of a reader than a poster nowadays. Im making the most of my little men, mind you they are not so little now, number 1 ds will be 9 at christmas, he is doing really well at school and im just so proud of how he is turning out. Little ds (my Icsi miracle) is 2 and a half now, and he is a little monkey, more than a handful to say the least, dont think I could have coped with two like him ! mind you no matter how naughty he is he still looks like and angel with his big blue eyes and blonde curls !

So lovely to hear your news jo, take care hun xx

Nicster

Hi Nicster, thanks so much, I have thought about you all following our posts back in February when we were all going through the same together. It really helped me through as I had never been through IVF before and I count us very lucky that it worked first time plus I'm 41 and will be 42 at the end of the month. I almost wish I was younger so I could try it again but that won't happen now due to my age.

I'm so glad you are well and your two boys are doing great. It is nice to hear how people are getting on, I wonder how the others who cycled with us are doing now? Would be great to hear from them.

Lovely to hear from you,

Take care

Hi everyone,

I havent been on here for ages, so decided to have a quick look.

Jo Jo - What wonderful news it is to here that you hit the jackpot and you now have Twin boys, you had to go through so much to get there, but now here you are! I hope you and the boys are still doing well, they truly are little miracles. xxx

Nicster hope you and everyone we cycled with are well too. xxx

AFM - I have some news myself!!!

After having the worst year of my life, feeling down etc after the failed ivf cycle and sort of coming to terms with maybe not being strong enough to put myself through it again! I decided just to try and forget about ivf and babies! Easier said than done I know!
I actually found out I was pregnant NATURALLY!!!! on the 13th November! I've had my 1st scan & everything seems to be going well, (touch wood). So i am currently coming up to 15 weeks.
I just couldn't believe it, when I found out as I was a couple of days late but you never expect it to be that, so it was definitely a shock, but a good shock haha!
You cant believe its real until you see the scan, and the scan was so amazing. And actually even seeing the scan its still hard to believe, or you think something is going to go wrong! I suppose its just because of what we have been through! I am trying hard to remain positive, as i have never been pregnant before so its all good really.
So just wanted to say omg it actually can happen naturally even after two failed cycles of ivf! You never think it could happen to you, but it can! Miracles can and do happen. xxx

Sending lots of love to you all,

Love from

Helen xxx

Hi Helen,
Congratulations that is wonderful news, I am so pleased for you Very Happy Like you say miracles do happen!

I'm sure you will be fine now especially after your scan but if your anything like me you will be constantly worried until your baby is born then you worry once they are born....think it's never ending worry now!

These two are 16 weeks old today and are doing well although it is hard work but wouldn't change anything....they are worth it!

Hope all goes well for you and keep in touch,

Take care

Helen, that is the most amazing news, congratulations I am so so pleased for you, it's good to know little miracles can happen x please keep us updated x

Jo, wow can't believe ur little ones are so many weeks, where does the time go ! Bet they are just gorgeous x

Afm: we had level 1 tests and so far it's shown up that my thyroid tests were too high so I'm now on thyroxine to bring it down, had the rest of the rests through and I'm just waiting for the consultant to look at them and see what other immune drugs I might need. Hopefully we are going to do fet in march, so fingers crossed I might get a little miracle too x

Lovely to hear from you both x

Hi all thank you for your kind replies.

Nicster that is great news that you will be doing a fet in march let's hope that these extra drugs will help you on the way to your dream of having another baby. I will be routing for you, and really really hoping this will be your time! You so deserve it!!!! Keep us updated xxx

Jojo gosh time does fly doesn't it! Hope everything is going well with your little men xxx

E&B how are you getting on? Xxx

Afm I'm 18 weeks pregnant today, I have my second scan in two weeks which I'm feeling slightly nervous about, just hoping everything is developing normally and as it should be etc! Worry worry worry as normal haha! Still not felt any movement yet but as its my first I suppose this is fairly normal, it shouldnt be too long now!
We heard the heartbeat for the first time a couple of week ago, that was totally amazing & had both me & DH in tears! What are we like!!!
On the whole I'm feeling ok apart from back ache that's decided to kick in, I've been off work this week for half term definitely felt ready for it although I haven't really rested, been busy doing things everyday! Went to a spa on Monday though so that was nice to have Abit of chill time.

Hope you are all good.

Love Helen xxxx

Hi Helen, lovely to hear from you and glad everything's going well, I wouldnt worry too much about not feeling movement yet, it's allways a bit later with the first, think I was closer to 20 weeks when I felt it for the first time. Bet you are really excited for the 20 week scan, are you going to find out the sex ?

I'm back at care on Monday for them to check my thyroid levels to make sure the thyroxine has bought it down enough.
Hopefully the consultant should have reviewed the rest of my results and I'll be having my new protocol any day.

Take care x

Hi Nicster, no we don't want to find out the sex of the baby as we really don't mind what it is so it will be nice to have a surprise, makes it more exciting I think. I don't know why but I have the feeling I'm having a boy?! So we will see if I'm right in 5 months haha x
Oh let's hope the drugs are doing the trick then, good luck for Monday and let us know how u get on. Xxx

Take care

Hi Helen, I think you are right, a suprise is nice, I didn't find out first time round and didn't want to second time either but ended up seeing it was a boy on one of my many scans !

Had my protocol through today. None of the tests showed anything at all, I know it sounds daft but I was hoping they would then it would explain why I had the four failed attempts and also give me faith in this next fet ! But no nothing shown up so apart from the thyroxine they haven't prescribed anything else. Dont know what to make of it my head is all over the place x

Ahhh Nicster I know how you feel as I had my level 1 tests done & all came back clear & nothing was wrong with anything but I know how you feel coz thats how I felt, like I wanted something to be wrong so they cud fix it & then maybe the next cycle would work?! So we were actually saving for the level 2 tests as I felt something must have to be wrong with me, but then I fell pregnant naturally! So it probably is a good thing that nothing is wrong, but I totally understand where your coming from wanting something to be wrong. Maybe just them sorting your thyroid out may make all the difference! How did you get on yesterday? When do you start your next cycle?

Take care

Hi Helen,

Yes I'm hoping that the thyroxine does the trick and makes all the difference. Had the blood test on Monday and am waiting for them to get back to me to let me know if I have to adjust the dose. Hoping to do the fet in march, very scary, got three frosties then that really is it x

Lots of love

OMG ladies! So many positive changes!

Helen - Congratulations! Fingers and toes crossed for you.

Jojo - How are you and your twins getting on? Smile

Nicster - I am so glad you are trying again! Fingers corssed! Smile When exactly are you startying? Can't believe we are in it again! Smile))))

I have some news myself - I am not sure if I mentioned it, but me and my DH are separated and at the moment selling the house. We both want different things and it is for the best.
Anyway, I am having DD - double donation or Embryo adoption in Czech republic on the 6th April!
If my eggs and sperm was a cause of BFNs then this is the way how to overcome that. So........
startying buserelin on monday! Scared but excited!

I hope you are all well and i look forward to hear from you soon.

LOVE

Hi Stella,

Lovely to hear from you, I have thought about you so many times. Wow lots has changed for you then, sorry to hear about you and your hubby, but as you said if it wasnt right then it is better to move on and find happiness somewhere else, too many people stay together for the wrong reasons and in the end they just make eachother miserable and resent eachother. Me and my DP have gonethrough some very very rocky patches and I sometimes wonder if we stay together for the wrong reasons or maybe that neither of us is strong enough or brave enough to end it. !

So am I right in saying you are with someone else now ? you said that you are going for double donation, is that donated eggs and donated sperm ? what is the difference between that and embryo adoption ? When do you think that you with have ET ? I really wish you all the luck in the world, you so deserve it.

AFM. Well ive got to wait for AF to arrive, it is due on the 11th March then I have to take some tablets (cant remember the name) to prepare for frozen embryo transfer, think I have to have a scan on day 12 to check the lining then transfer is between day 17 and 21, so fingers crossed ET will be the last week in March. Im so nervous.

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hi Girls

Stella - its so good to hear from you! Sorry to hear about you and DH though! I wish you all the best with ur double donation, you'll have to keep us updated! xxx

Nicster - Gosh not long for you now until your fet, I really want it to happen for you this time! Please let us know how you get on. Xxx

AFM - I've been off work since Tuesday feeling really flued up, so a nightmare when there's not a lot you can take apart from paracetamol, so been feeling really sorry for myself!
On a brighter note we had our 20 week scan yesterday, which went really well, everything was as it should be so that was a big relief! She said the baby is growing normally, just with a generous waist! Which made us laugh! And on the photo it looks like its got a little rugby ball sized belly haha! (taking after its dad already!) haha!
So just lots of growing to do now! I will try & keep you all updated of our progress over the coming months.

Take care

Love Helen xxx

Aah Helen, its just amazing isnt it the 20 week scan, they are just so formed and perfect. I remember finding it hard to believe that little person was actually inside me. Well now youve hit another milestone maybe you can start buying a few things, mind you I think I left it till I was closer to 30 weeks.

Hope your feeling better with your flu thing, its awful isnt it when you feel so lousy and cant take anything.

Take care and keep us posted.

Lots of love

Hi Ladies,

So nice to hear from you!

Helen - Fab! I can't imagine how you feel! Must be an amazing feeling to see little one on the screen.
Have fingers and toes crossed for you. x

Nicster - started Buserelin today! Taking it easy.
Double donation and embryo donation are the same thing. Just think that if it is my eggs or sperm to blame, it can be overcome by this. So lets see..... Had a choice of 5 sperm donors - all 10 years my juniors! Smile))
at the moment awaiting dets about egg donor. I have transfer on the 6th April, and they will take embies to blast. So I have never been at that stage before. It is down to my beautifull body now! (managed to loose stone in few weeks, so I am at my thinnest I have ever been when doing a cycle. So you see, all is not THAT bad! Smile
Anyway - Just few months ago my colleague (that I have been very close to since I started working here 3 years ago - but nothing like THAT!!!) told me he has strong feelings for me. And it just went from there.
I still live in the house with ex to be, so it is all a bit - weird, like lodgers in one house. But he - DP (Never called him that, hm, feels good), makes me happy and understands me, knows how to handle me (oops! - promiss I ain't witch!). He is fully supportive of the treatment and wants to be part of my life whatever outcome. So will see.

I know that you have been through a lot with your DH But just remember the person you fell in love with. I know, there comes the point, when that does not matter anymore, so once you reach that point, there is no point (too many points here Smile ) to stay together. Only you can give yourself the answer. I feel fingers and toes crossed for you.
Both of us in fact. You will be in 2WW before me!!!! Smile Amazing!

Well, enough of me.

Look forward to hear from you ladies.

X S

Hi Stella,

Does your ex know about your plans ?

Well done for loosing so much weight, youve done really really well. Ive got a good feeling for your this time.

Yes Ill be in the 2ww before you, lets hope we both have something to celebrate this time.

Hi Nicster,

I am so nervous, I have to say. I am so scared to even hope! How do you feel this time round?

My ex does not know I am having a go now. I have told him about my intention to have an embryo adoption, but not that I am going through it now.
As far as I am concerned, it is nothing to do with him. This is go for myself!

I know that in all this I am very lucky as I am trying to acheve something, not drowning my sorrows in self pitty and booze! And I know I have someone special in my life. Just don't want to spoil it!

Where are u upto now? Sorry, bit confused sometimes Smile

Look fwd to your post.

God yes Stella you are right, you forget don't you how long it has been.

Wish I felt as positive as you, I've got so much going on at the minute I'm worried the stress is going to affect the cycle. Work is really full on and stressful at the minute, I'm away at the weekend with work, it's never easy when I'm away because dp is not supportive at all. Just keep thinking this time next week I will be back then that's another thing I can tick off my list. Got zachs birthday part to arrange, he will be 3 on the 31st march. But the most stressfull thing ... Just found out today that we've got a big ofsted inspection straight after Easter ! Oh ye and things still not great with dp !

Think I really need to try and chill out, I'm sure I'll feel better when I've got this weekend out of the way x

Sorry to ramble. So what happens when you get your af ? Do you start on the Hrt tablets ?

Nicster x
