Hi Lovely Ladies
Just a real quicky from me as I'm shattered and need to get to bed. This mummy job is knackering!
We've had a lovely 'moving in day' with LO which has gone surprisingly smoothly. He had a bit of a wobble in the car on the way home from FC's this morning and said he wanted to go back but apart from that we've had a remarkably peaceful day. Bath and bedtime went without a hitch and he's now sleeping soundly upstairs!! Phew!
I hope everyone else is doing OK and I'll catch up with news properly over the next couple of days when things will hopefully have calmed down a little bit.

Hi All
Hope everyone's OK. Hope you get more than you expect from court tomorrow, Woo.
All's fine here. LO had a wobbly day yesterday morning crying because he misses his foster family and again this morning but we were expecting that to happen once the novelty of being here started to wear off a bit. I'd be slightly concerned if he wasn't missing his foster family as he was with them for so long. It's just hard to see him struggling though. He's playing happily with Daddy with his cars now though .
He's so lovely and I'm really starting to feel like his mum. Although I am having to count to 10 a lot more frequently than before he came .
DH goes back to work on Wednesday so I'm feeling a bit nervous about that but I'm sure we'll be fine.
Although I'm up at 6am now (yuk!) the days are just whizzing and I don't seem to have time to get on here and have a read to catch up properly.
We seem to be settling down and getting used to each other a bit more now though so hopefully I'll be able to nip on for a while later.
Love to everyone.

Wobally - good to hear things are going well. I'm afraid to say 6 am is normal in this house, has been for years as DH & I got up them to go to work and so I still have to get DH up. I also like being up, showered and ready for when LOs wake up, wasn't so bad with DS in the last year as he would play in his room if I wasn't ready but DD is full of demands the minute she wakes.
Woo - fingers crossed for some sense to prevail tomorrow.
Hope everyone is OK.
We had to go for a meeting with BF last week, 200 miles each way, day of work for DH, childcare to arrange........the b*gger didn't turn up or bother to let anyone know!!!!! Thats it now though, we've arranged 2 dates and enough is enough.
Am currently trying to sort out what to do about work/childcare/money.....thinking of going back early so I at least earn some money before being made redundant but DS is suffering a lot at the moment, very fragile and insecure after DD coming home, all the stuff with FIL and getting stuck into a rut of rude, horrid behaviour. I know going back to work isn't going to help him and I feel DD needs more time with me too as she has to share me, whereas DS didn't. Feeling pretty low at the moment as its all a worry and what is right for the children won't pay the bills.......

Mel - thanks hun for that will let you know what happens.
What a shame you had to travel all that way for him not to turn up. Is that DD father?
You have a lot on your plate hun just now - can you sit down and speak to your DH? You and your DH know what is best for you and your family. Hope you manage to sort it out hun.

Hi Mel
Poor you, money is a terrible thing isnt it. The SW that came to see me said that they really wanted me to have 12 months off work and I would love that but who is going to pay the bills I cant live off fresh air especially as I am single and I aint got any partner to pay up. I can just about manage 9 months off I think. How long you been off?
Hopefully you will be able to sort something out and the LO's will all settle down and it will be ok xx |

Been off nearly 7 months so far but so much has happened its not been as children focused as it should have been. If I go back to work early I will get 75% again of my wage as a bonus which will help add to the redundancy payment but if I go back before September I have to pay holiday club for DS and find childcare for DD, if I go back in September my Mum will have DD for the 6 weeks until I am made redundant. I think we (me, DS & DD) need the summer holidays to help with bonding and get out and have some fun and for DS to have the time he needs to feel secure again.
I feel so guilty that he feels the way he does, he was so settled and happy and if it had just been DD arriving I think he would have adjusted quicker. All the stuff with FIL being ill and dying, DH not being about, DD being poorly, me being poorly on top has really knocked him for 6 and I am finding it hard that I can't just put it right and make him feel better.
Oh well, we will get through it and something will happen to put it all in place.
Mel xx |

Mel - you are a tough cookie hun and you have so much good advice for others when there are finding things tough going and you will get through it. You are lucky to have your Mum there to help too.
I hope your DS gets through this tough period it is a lot for a little one to deal with however I am sure with you being his Mummy he will get through it. Good idea to have the summer holidays and think about it after then. Gives you all a good amount of time together as a family.
Take care hun.

Woo - how poor them not being in touch with you, surely they must realise by now the emotions involved in this?! Fingers crossed the 28th May goes ahead and sees the end of this for you all.
Sar - hope you are surviving your busy week.
Wobally - hope all is continuing to go well.
A lot going on at the moment with SWs and children, finally heard from court but still no actual date for final hearing as the reports aren't due in until end of next week. Not really sure why they wrote to us yet but hey ho!

Mel - you seem to be playing the waiting game too hun!! It makes you a more patient person though lol!! That is what I have found Hope you don't have to wait much longer.
Sar - yeah the rain is awful I was rushing about yesterday trying to cut my grass in between showers!!
We heard some news yesterday - BM & BF both turned up at court on Tuesday. Still do not have a lawyer when Sheriff asked what they were doing about it - BM said "she was thinking about it"!!!!!!! Sheriff told her to be quick about it. The Sheriff arranged another pre-proof for next week to find out what is going on with their search for a lawyer. However, the Sheriff will not be at the meeting - she has also intimated that she might not be taking the proof hearing on 28th May. So looks like we will be having a new Sheriff appointed to our case. I think she is poorly or something. Quite strange. Anyway, I think we are well shot of her. Hopefully the new Sheriff will look at our case and see some sense!! We live in hope
Have a nice weekend everyone.

Hi lovely ladies,
I've been reading your thread for a while now, and wondered if you still take newbies like me? We're at the very beginning of our adoption journey, having been to the initial meeting and sent back our form, so waiting for a home visit.
Your stories are really inspiring in that you have all been through a lot on the ivf journey, and then had the strength to become mums through adoption which i know from a friends experience can be a very hard, long and tricky journey but of course with the biggest reward possible at the end of it! My friends have finally had their adoption order through and are so beyond happy with how things have turned out for them and their lovely little ones.
Anyway - I probably won't have much to say for a while as i know it takes a few months to get started, but if you'll have me i would be very appreciative of the support.
Just a little info on me, TTC since 2006, investigations in 2007 / 2008 showed nothing 'wrong' as such, just unexplained infertility. Clomid - nothing - 1 natural pg - m/c at 6 w, then IUI x 3 - 2nd resulting in pg but sadly m/c at 6w 5d. IVF icis nov 2011 - negative - jan - certain that i had an even earlier m/c, then 2nd IVF ICSI - another negative. Had been discussing adoption for about a year during the course of our treatment, and have decided that we can't put ourselves through heartache of IVF/ICSI as it is now probable that I have rubbish eggs, hence them not developing past certain stages into healthy pg's. Doc at care has suggested donor eggs, but DH and myself are now set on adoption to find our lovely children. They are out there somewhere and we can't wait to meet them!

Josie - hi Josie welcome to the neighbourhood lol
Sounds like you have been having a tough time hun by the sounds of things. However, we are a bunch of jolly ladies with the same goal in mind and it would be great if you would like to join in
We are all at different stages and a lot of the girls who started this thread have now gone on to adopt either their first or second child.
I hope you get to hear something soon about your home visit and don't have too wait too long for that to happen
