Hi Jacquie,

Oh no! All the LA's have different dates and times for release of school admissions info.
It did occur to me that that might be the case, but I was hoping not.

I found out today, from another Mummy at Olly's pre-school [who has just deigned to start speaking to me - its quite snooty, darling!!] that our date isn't until Friday the 27th of April.

POO! That was bad enough, as another 5 days from your date, but then....
Horror of horrors - I went into a dither when I realised. We go away that day and are not back until Tuesday.

Honestly! What are the chances????? High, if you are me!
No internet access in accomodation but owners, who are friends, live next door, so am hoping I can access my emails through their pc! Can't believe my luck, lol. I have additional reasons to stress about our allocation, as you know.

Hope you don't mind me having a whinge. I know you are stressing a bit too, so thought you probably would empathise

Oh Maryrose, so sorry I didnt get chance to read until this morning. I didnt log back in last night after I saw Amanda's good news.

What a pain that they dont all have the same dates. I assumed that they did as my ante-natal friends in Yorkshire have the same as us in Lancs.

If it helps I am more than happy to log on for you and text you the news on Friday. Just let me know if it would help or not.

I had an e-mail from our LA on monday to remind us of the date. They also said that they would post out the letter 2nd class on the same day. The letter gives the appeal process if we need it. Hopefully we both wont. But it says that you cant officially do anything until you receive confirmation by letter.

I'm trying not to think about it too much but I know I will be on pins on monday until I can log on in the evening. What's the betting that they system crashes with the volume of traffic!!

Jacquie - Good luck for tomorrow's news, hun.

Your LA sounds so much more efficient than ours!

I will be pleased with either of our 2 choices, but my fear is that we will get neither. Then we woud have to appeal.

Also, rather endearingly, the lady who does 1 to 1 with Olly in the preschool which is attached to the school we have put as 2nd choice, seems to have become quite emotionally involved with him. She said recently that she would like to follow him through primary school [thereby giving up her role in the nursery] and so, I am now feeling a little guilty about putting the other school down as 1st choice. I have a feeling she will be a bit upset if he leaves where he is now. Oh dear! Its all a minefield and I can only do what I think is best at the time.

Thanks for your congratulations on the other thread. It is such a relief you are right. Fingers crossed for Ollie.

Just a thought, you said you would leave the surprise in your in box for when you return. Our LA dont e-mail you, you have to log onto their system. Might be worth checking what your LA does. I would hate for you to be waiting for something that doesnt arrive.

Fingers crossed for you both. I hope you have a lovely break. You are more strong willed than me. I wouldnt be able to wait!!

Jacquie - Thanks for reply. Its all very confusing, as every LA seems to do it differently.

It doesn't sound like we have to wait until evening [I am sooo hoping this is the case], in which case we will know bwfore we leave on friday.

I am going to try to make some investigations.

Another Mummy with a little one at the same preschool, as Olly, has not got in. She knows because she is just over the border in a different county. But our village and her village are probably equi-distant from where the school is. 3 points of a triangle.

Jacquie - I have just phoned them.

Yes, ours come through by email, so shouldn't have problems with any website crashing trying to access it.
They are all to be sent by 3pm.
Ho hum, I think we may be going away at teatime then, as if it done alphabetically [and it sounds like it is] my surname begins with a W!

And if he gets into the school where he is at pre-school and its done alphabetically like that, that begins with a W. too! Rolling Eyes

At least you know what the latest time is to expect it and you can plan your time.

Completely gutted. We have not got a place at either school. Sad

And he's been offered a place at the cr@ppy one in the village, where I took him away from nursery. So now we will have to appeal.

Honestly, is anything ever going to go right for us???

Oh Maryrose, i'm gutted for you. It's all so unfair.
According to our local school quite a few appeals are successful. But you could do without the extra stress of it all.
