Hi ladies
I am currently 11 weeks 3 days with twins  my nk cells before pregnancy were 29.7, I have had 4 itralipids and having a 5th tomorrow, care said I can have a blood test to check level in 2 weeks but I don't start weening off my steroids until 11th may so these will be in my system if I have the blood test, Does this make a difference? I havent had them tested since being pregnant. Can anyone advise if i need to have it? From what I have read the placenta takes over at 12 weeks so nks shouldnt be a problem should they?
Any advise is much appreciated thanks xxxx |

Hi, congrats on your bfp with twins!
My Nk cells were 31 and I wasn't offered a blood test to check levels, George said to have an intralipid at 11 weeks and that would last me. Obviously I didn't have twins. With cost of blood tests, it would probably be cheaper to have another intralipid in a few weeks, which can't do any harm I guess. |

Hi
it doesn't matter that the steroids are still in your system, care are just looking for a 'normal' level. once the placentas kick in they will do the same job as the steroids did and as pregnancy progresses it's unlikely nk's will go up and if they do the babies will be big enough to 'fight back' lol xx |

Hi
I had 3 intralipids and was offered a test to see if the 3rd was needed or not. The test was about twice the price of the intralipid o just went for the Intralipid. I was assured that if if wasn;t needed it wouldn't cause any problems. It made more sense to just have it done whether it was needed or not due to the cost.
