Is everyone else ok ?

Nicki, lovely to see you on the boards, how's things with you Hun ? Any news on the adoption front ? X

Afm. Still taking in the appointment at ARGC. What a bizarre place, you definately wouldn't believe it was the cutting edge of ivf ! More like a big old bed & breakfast and a not very well looked after one at that. The doctor we saw was lovely and on a positive note she confirmed by the bloods and scan that everything is ok hormone wise, my body is still doing what it's meant to do and reproductively is not passed it yet ! She also confirmed what I expected that there is only two tests that haven't been done and that need to be done in order to say we have explored everything, that's the level 2 Chicago test and a hysteroscopy. They like to do the hysteroscopy when you start the treatment ie: when you start stimming. So in order for me to have piece of mind I've booked in for the level 2 tests, going to have them done in Nottingham, it's a similar cost and saves the treck to London. I'll see what that shows up then have the hysteroscopy. She says that it is either a problem with implantation in which case that will show up via the test and hysto or the eggs, if it's the implantation obviously meds can help with that, if it's eggs then not much can be done. If I did have treatment in London it would be short protocol but my god it's intense, bloods every day in first week of stimms and scan every day the second week scans every day and bloods twice a day and to be honest that's really the main difference between them and care, no other magic ingredients ! My heads still all over the place a bit with it all.

Lots of love to everyone x

Nicster x

Hi ladies just a quickie as I'm shattered and just about to do my jab. Got back from Centerparcs today and mobile reception was practically non existant, so have been catching up.

Amanda, I've said on FB, but happy birthday and I hope that things are going as well as they can be for you. Big hugs, probably not the way you thought you'd be spending your birthday. I hope baby Amanda (I can't decide if it's a boy or girl, but I'm leaning towards boy) stays put for a bit longer.

Nicster, I can't really help with your consultation, but it does sound pretty full on you'd be in London for a couple of weeks at least having tx there.

Hi to everyone else, sorry no more personals. DR going ok, but have started with the dreaded headaches today and am extremely grumpy at the moment, got my DR scan on Tuesday (should have been this week, but with being away I've had to delay it) so we'll just see. I think egg collection will be sometime w/c 18th, so a bit to go yet. Keep having to rely on my alarm on my phone as almost keep forgetting to take injections...

Wendy xx

Hi Wendy, really good to hear from you, glad you've had a good holiday but sorry your suffering with down reg. which Center Parcs did you go to ? We are going to Whinfell in August. Your right two weeks in London, not the easiest of situations to juggle, I could go down every day on the train but imagine the cost and how exhausting x

Nicster we went to Nottingham, but we went to Whinfell last year and I much prefer that one, it's a much better layout with smaller kids. I've been to Nottingham before with my sisters and their kids, but first time with Theo. It was nice to get away though and we had a bit of a breakthrough with Theo with the swimming - he hates the pool usually, so I booked a couple of lessons (I say that in the loosest sense of the term as the girl barely taught them anything). He cried the whole first lesson, but on the second one he got a lot better and by yesterday he was loving the water. I am so pleased as I'd hate for him to be scared of the water.

Anyway, enough waffling. I don't know if I could do it with the travelling to a cycle in London (where are you based?), but if you think it will give you the best chance, it may be worth a try.

Must admit Wendy I love Whinfell, I haven't been to nottIngham but I've been to longleat. Funnily enough my neighbours were in center parcs nottingham this week. It's great that Theo is starting to enjoy the water, that will be a big help when he starts proper lessons. I didn't start Cameron early enough and it took him a long long time to get his confidence.

I keep swinging backwards and forwards about cycling in London , part of me thinks it's just two weeks out of my life and I should give it the best shot but then part of me thinks surely the stress of the commute and the logistics would out way the benefits. I'm in Staffordshire so the fast train ( but also more expensive train ) is 1 hour 20 mins and the slower train is 2 hours 20 !

Happy belated birthday Amanda! Hope everything is going well and baby still cooking nicely. It's bizarre spending a birthday in hospital - i was there for mine last year. At the end of all this you will have the best pressie in the whole wide world though and every day will be like your birthday!!

Thinking of you with all paws crossed
Love pika..x

Nicster - I can understand your concern about the travel to the clinic. We travelled from MK to Wimbledon. Sometimes drove (EC, ET) - m25 nightmare and for scans I got about 2-3 trains. It was a palaver but you are right, it's only for a short time. My clinic also wasn't as high tech to look at as say Care Notts, but their approach much better suited me.

Ask your heart what you should do

Love pika..x

Amanda - a belated happy birthday to you. Hope it was 'uneventfully', and your baby has stayed put to cook a bit longer.

Dh has set the 'new' computer up, Lovely Ladies and its completely weird, after using a laptop for a year. Its got my monitor from the pc that went bang last June and OMG!, its like being in the cinema, its so big in comparison to the laptop.
Will take a bit of getting used to.

I keep checking in to see if there's any news from AuntyMand... I will send her a text in a bit. Thnk some hospitals are stricter about mobile phones than others.

Nicster - could you perhaps arrange to decamp for the 2nd week of intense monitoring? I mean live in London or nearby for about 10 days. Did you explain the logistical difficulties to them?

Brrr... its a bit chilly here Sad
Love Maryrose xxx

Hi ladies. We're still here cooking. Yesterday was a bit worrying with uncontrollably high blood pressure and resulting crippling headache so spent most of the day just feeling sorry for myself hence no posting. They've now added a second lot of medication so just need to hope that works.

Thanks for birthday wishes. Yes, I am an official LL now!!! Birthday was a bit of a washout so think I might be like the queen and have another one in a few months time, lol!

Love to all, and thanks for your kindness.

Amanda xxx

Oh my god pika that must have been a nightmare having to get so many trains, it just shows it was worth it for you in the end. I do keep trying to think its only two weeks !

Maryrose I think that might be a good plan to actually stay down there, if I did it in August we could all go down and make it into mini holiday. My worry though is would we get accommodation because of the Olympics/ paralympics !

Amanda, I know you probably feel lousy but every extra day that little one can stay inside the better xxx big hugs xx

Hi Amanda,

Sorry to hear about the crippling headaches, hopefully the extra meds will help.

Take care and hope you can try and get some rest.

Amanda - glad you are still cooking. Hope those extra meds help.

Maryrose - glad you've got a pc again. Must admit I chose my laptop for the biggest screen I could afford as after a monitor I wouldn't have been able to cope with anything smaller.

AFM
First day of potty training. well, I say day, we started after his afternoon nap. Think he's got used to sitting on the loo, but hasn't done a wee yet. Two accidents though. Tomorrow will be the big day though. Might actually drink enough water to need it! Going to keep me fit though - when I asked him if he wanted a wee, he'd head to the stairs to go up, I'd take him up, sit him down, he'd not be interested and then want to be carried back downstairs..

Love to all

Happy belated birthday aunty Mand! Keep the faith, you're incubating a stubborn one in there! I still think pink!!!

Julie - if you're reading, hope you're feeling better soon. If you're not happy with the answer from the hospital, kick up a stink.
