Sorry to gatecrash ladies,
Meadsylou - I don't know what to say except I am so sorry to read your post about your baby's condition, big hugs to you . I have been wondering about you as you hadn't posted. Seding you lots of hugs and strength and hope that your baby will be ok after surgery if that's what the tests confirm in London.
All my love xx |

Lou, we have FB'd and I don't know that I was much help to be honest. I think it's a tough one to know what to say to people, perhaps the best bet is to be vague at the moment (unless people know you were going for the scan of course) and wait until you've had the follow up scan to see if they can be more definitive (as I said on FB baby will be bigger then, so I'm sure they'll be able to see more).
It does seem like they've got a few suggestions of how they can manage it, but that won't stop you worrying yourself silly about it. I really wish there was something I could do after all you've been through to get here. In a way having the nuchal scan may have been a good thing, as I always think forewarned is forearmed and it may be that they can do something to help your baby before it's born.
Big hugs and as the others have said, if you want to talk you know where I am.
Just a thought, have you considered putting a post on the BB&B forum to see if anyone has any similar experiences or advice? You may not be ready to go that 'public' about it, but I'm sure you'd get some fab advice.

God Lou after all you have been through to get this baby (((((HUGS)))) Not sure I can offer any advice really but am always here or on FB if you want to chat.
If you are not upto talking about it don't although sometimes just to say scan raised some concerns but more tests are required will usually stop any further questions.
Really hope they can give you some positives at the hospital, thinking of you both hun xxxx |

Hey all thanks for you kind words.
Baby is as feared at the worst end of the spectrum and currently only has a 10% chance of survival at birth. They are going to operate at 26 weeks and insert a balloon in her throat that should force the hernia away from her lungs a little and help them to grow, raising her chances to 40/50%. We are still really struggling to deal with this bombshell. I'm ill and everything I do is a real chore, keep trying to pull myself together for babies sake, but it is so so hard. We are having a precious little girl. I always knew in my heart one day I would end up with a baby girl, but for how long we will have her no-one knows xx |

Oh Louise
Firstly some hugs for you and Dh
I know that no words can take away the feeling of fear and despair you must have right know. To have such news is truly heartbreaking but you have hope. I know you are giving your little girl the best chance she can possibly have. You must hold on to how much better the odds are after the procedure. Of course you are feeling ill and struggling right know, who wouldnt be. You have to stay strong though and look after yourself to help her . She is a very precious little girl who has the best mummy and daddy to fight for her. Hold onto the fact that her chances increase quite a bit after the op.
I know it must be hard right know to see a future where everything is ok but I'm praying thats whats there for you and your little girl. You know where I am if you need anything, anytime
Love Julie xx |

Lou, I really don't know what to say to you my love, it's just the worst news. At least they have a plan of what they can do which should help your baby girl out. I can only imagine how hard this must be for you, but Julie is right, hard as it is, you must try to keep yourself as healthy as possible. I'm conscious that anything I say may sound trite, but i really hope that you can focus on the positive steps that you can take and whilst it's only 10% at the moment, that's more than nothing...
Have you thought about asking for any details of support groups for other people whose babies have had this? It may help you to speak to other parents who have had this, or to consider getting some counselling, as I'm sure talking about it may help.
It is no consolation, but I do think forewarned is forearmed and for me I would prefer to know sooner rather than later.
Big hugs and as Julie also said, if you want to talk or scream or just vent, you know where I am as well.
My love to you and your DH

Meadsylou - so sorry to read this news. Youve had it so rough and now this on top.
I wonder if as she grows then the hernia might seem smaller or stop growing. Im sure the doctors know what they are doing and it sounds like they will give her every chance possible for developing a good pair of lungs. When is your next scan hon?
Hope your feeling better too x |

hi lou
i hardly ever come on the boards nowadays, so glad i have, sorry its a little late to mark the occasion. i think about you and some other doncaster girls i meet up with , we always ask if either have heard from you and how you must be feeling. do you get any kind of counselling to help you cope with the loss of Amelia? does she have a place where you can go to visit her? it doesnt seem right talking about plots, she should be in your arms, im filling up now, so very sad.
i see you have decided to leave facebook for a while. if it helps to talk on here, i promise i will check for your posts alot more often. thinking of you lots lou x x x |

Hiya
How is everyone?
Things have been busy for us, am busy sorting Amelia's charity night out in aid of CDH Uk for Amelia's first birthday.
In other interesting news, received a phone call on Friday saying the PCT want to fund us another PGD cycle, talk about shocked! Scared, anxious, apprehensive etc etc. Got an app at Notts on Monday, OMG could we really be crazy enough to consider cycling again??.... xx |
