Fingers funny you should mention purchases lol we bought a nappy changer unit of eBay which looks great just need to paint it white. We went to the Trafford centre the other day and walked through John Lewis's and saw this lovely white crib, it was reduced to £40 from £80 so dp said we had to get it so we did lol.

So everything is good then?

How is everyone else?

Oh thank god!!! You had me worried there. I saw you on last night and when you hadn't posted I began to fear the worse....I'm one of life's worriers and IVF just does my nut in!!!

Soooo relieved that all was ok, even though you still have the numb legs...long may they continue if they are pregnancy related Smile

I can now get on with my cleaning, been anxietiously logging on all morning.....this BB is not good for the nerves...haha

Hope you manage to get some sleep tonight and you feel a bit more relaxed about things

Love Taz xxx

Lol, tap on the wrists madam...lol xxx

Yes I packed that godforsaken job in and am having some quality time before the mayhem begins!! My emotions were all over the place and I realised that if I was ever to move on I needed to try and get the old Andrea back (yes, real name is Andrea.....feels weird saying it in here as I've always had to be so careful for so long so as not to be identified!!). 4 months later and I'm back to my old self and looking forward to exciting times ahead....well currently sitting in the garden catching much needed rays!!! Smile

So pleased everything was ok, you really got me worried then.

That's fantastic. you really did need some time out. What you have been through is not easy and forcing yourself into a life/job you dont want and that makes you miserable was not good for you.

You catch those rays. It is overcast here at the moment. Seems to wake me up every morning with sun ablazing ans then it bloody well goes in.

Hi All

Glad to hear your scan went well Fingers and those blasted pessaries are coming to an end. No more giraff positions when putting them in.

Chestnut I had to laugh when you said about the shopping. You go girl!

Taz - Its lovely to hear you so positive now.

Dawn - how you doing love. Hows the puppy?

AFM - well I had my first new social worker visit on Monday morning she was with me over 3 hours god only knows what we talked about but she went round the house and said most of it was fine obviously I have to get rid of my pond which I had already decided anyway as it drives me mad and my gorgeous glass dinning table has to go! Crying or Very sad I wasnt sure if it was safety glass so unless I can prove it then I have to change it. She also gave me loads of homework!!! I feel like I am studying for my A Levels again LOL.

Last night my old social worker came to re do my CRB and that took 10 mins and she stayed for 2 hours!!! We were just chatting about this that and the other. It was nice actually to see her.

Apparently my new social worker sits on panel too so she is well into whats what so hopefully that will be a good thing for me because she will want to ensure I dont get a no as it may look bad on her. She is a manager too and I can see her really grilling me on things like my finances and she has already mentioned my weight and the fact the doctor on the panel has a thing about it. BOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Evil or Very Mad

Next visit is next Thursday and then the following thurday and then 2 weeks after that. Hopefully then we will be able to fit in the last 2 visits in August whilst I am off work and then go to panel in November.

Sorry I aint been around life is just so crap at the mo with personal things and I just have so much work going on I dont seem to have 5 mins to do things. I will try to be a better cyber buddy soon. xx

How is everyone getting on ?

Fingers how are you feeling?

I have my 25 week midwife appointment. Constipation is awful, having to take 2 fiber gel per day and lactolose everyday as those pregnancy vitamins they have me take really bung me up.

Hi ladies
Wow we r quiet I had to search for the thread.

Sorry been absent. I'm slowly getting more comfortable with the pregnancy. Still worried as anything. I bought a doppler which is reassuring and had 16 week midwife appointment on Friday and everything is fine.

I'm also been feeling little movements. More like flutters for last days now. Obviously can't tell what part of body it ia but its very cool and odd. Midwife said its normal to feel little flutters at this stage but obvs wont feel.proper arms legs for weeks.

Still the occasional gagging bUt think its psychological really.

Boob pain not really there apart from round nips and covered in little thread veins

Bloody legs r a nightmare. Who cares really as all in good cause but dont get much sleep for numbness and pain. Dr and mw think early spd so referred me for some sort of physio.

Might go aquanatal tomorrow for first time. Not sure tho. Not had a bath in months coz of what i was told during 2ww so i feel a little uncomfortable about submerging myself in water!

20 week scan 8 Aug! Cant wait!

Hope u r all well.

Sar and taz hope training and nosey social workers r going ok.

Taz sorry theres not been much sun for u to enjoy.

Sar hope u r not working too hard.

Dawn u getting through things ok?

Chestnut - 25 weeks. Its gone so quickly. I wish i was there! I havent bought anything i cant wait ti start. Lists of things i want and need and hubby is scared at cost. I like the quinny buzz with pebble car seat and carry cot. Its not bloody cheap. I also like the quinny moodd but cant find it anywhere except online so need to be able to see it. Dont know if i can spend 1k on a pram.

R u big yet? Im juat fat i think. Put on the weight i lost before treatment again already. Cant stop eating.

Ive got a blood glucose test in September to test for gestational diabetes too.

Dp didn't want to test for downs but I wish we did now. Don't talk to me about putting weight on, I decided god knows why to weigh myself yesterday and I am 13 stone. I have put 2 stone on and I still have 15 weeks left to go. Not happy

In regards to buying things, has everything got to be brand new? We have bought some thing second hand and they are spot on, pram, pushchair with car seat ( bebecar stylo) should be over £800 all together but we only paid £107 for it. Nursery furniture except for the bed we have got second hand. Have decided to collect mamas and Paps gingerbread range for the nursery. We have a mamas and Paps outlet near by and my mum has purchased a starlight swing chair rrp £99 but it was for sale at £45 because it was ex display. Got end of line crib from John Lewis's for £45 which should of been £80. So there is bargains out there to be had just have to shop around.

Last weekend in August there is a mother and baby fair in Manchester were going as it is all discounted stuff and loads of freebies I've been told. Mamas and papas, mothercare and loads more are there. You can buy anything and everything such as sterilisers etc which is bits like that we need.

Would you not have found out about any abnormalities at your 20 week scan?

Do you mean the Baby Show in Manchester? We are going to go to that on the Saturday. Although someone somewhere did say that on the Sunday they give away all the display items for silly amounts of money so that might be a good choice too. I will be 24 ish weeks by then so will be ok with buying stuff.

RE the new. Yes I want everything new. I don't mind end of line or similar but i am a but of a snob when buying stuff although i can't afford to be really and dont like the idea of someone else having used it first. Seen a lovely Winnie the Pooh cot bed and rocking crib that we want. There is a discount store in Southend about 1.5 hrs away where hubby's dad lives so we might go and have another look. We did the other weke but it closed in 10 mins so we didn't really have much time to look at anything other than the prams.

RE the furniture I am hoping that I can use the chest of drawers and wardrobe I currently have int eh spare room and just move hubby's stuff into our room and my wardrobe, drawers etc so that baby's stuff can go in there. The Winnie the pooh things I have seen are the same oak style so should look fine. We only have a 2 bedroom house so I dont have space to move the drawers and wardrobe into our room as we already have too much in there. Plus we only bought them about a year ago and they were not cheap so refuse to give them away or try and sell them for less than we paid for them.

R u going to have a 4d scan? We have been looking at them but stil have 10 weeks or so til we can get one done! Damn it! lol

Our pram was advertised as used but it turned out to be brand new . The family we bought it from are foster parents (rich foster parent, house was spotless etc) and got told they were getting a new born so went out and bought pram, pushchair and car seat (bebecar stylo) then never got the baby so they put it on ebay and were bought it. No one is a bigger snob than me but you have to be sensible with these things. I dont plan on returning to work until 10 months on so need to say as much money as possible, I drop down to statutory maternity pay after 18 weeks which is rubbish.

Regarding abnormalities yeah they do but because at our 12 week scan we decided not to be tested for downs I assumed that they just wouldnt tell me or be able to tell from our 20 week scan if the baby did or not. Am I wrong?

Regarding the show we plan on going on the sunday as that is what I heard too. That sunday will be DP birthday lol

Don't know about the 4d scan DP mentioned it but I dont know if she still fancies it as she hasn't mentioned it again since.

I might have a look at ebay then although nowing my luck the one i would buy will have puke all over it and Rusk crumbs! YUCK!

I would have thought that Downs would be obvious at 20 weeks? or that they would have said that something was wrong as surely it is classed as an abnormality. I don't know.

Have you bought your tickets yet? If you sign up to Emma's Diary they have some discount codes to use for moeny off the entrance price of the baby show.

18 weeks is awful. I get 6 months full pay then 3 months statutory. We are going to try and save some money up so we can afford to eat for those 3 months. lol. Also hubby is worried about paternity leave as only £135 per week and compared to his wages this is pittance. He was going to take some holiday time but that then leaves him with nothing for the rest of hte year and no time to spend me with or baby. Don't know what to do really.

I cant remember but did you find out the sex - boy?

6 months is great. For police it has only just gone up, only a couple months ago it was 13 weeks so shouldn't complain really.

Haven't got the tickets yet but will get some soon. Waiting for pay day.

Yep having a boy we like the name harry. Do you know what your having yet?
