Hi everyone

Sorry its taken so long to post! Oliver is now 6 weeks old (hopefully his photo will appear at the bottom!). He is simply amazing. Being a new single parent is really hard, but he is worth it. He is slowly starting to work towards a bedtime routine and is breast feeding well. The end of the pregnancy and first week were hectic. My waters went at 34 weeks and Oliver was born at 36 weeks. He struggled with feeding initially, but is now racing ahead gaining weight. When he was about a week old I got an infection and nearly got re-admitted, but managed at home with medication. My mum and dad have been brill (some of you may remember they were not very supportive in the beginning) and they are really enjoying being grandparents.

Hope everyone is well and sorry for no personals.

Jo

Congratulations JoJo

Its lovely to hear your success story and to see the beautiful picture of your little man!

I started my monitoring today and was told that it is still early days so I can have tomorrow off and go back on Wednesday. Im just starting to worry incase I ovulate at the weekend so I wont be able to have DI this cycle. I'm assuming that they dont do DI at the weekend?

I can't believe that my journey has finally begun after all the years it has taken to get here, I just have everything crossed for a BFP in the few months!

Sorry for the all about me post but I now aim to keep up with all posts and enjoy following everyone's journeys xxx

Hi everyone

Jo, Oliver is just gorgeous - many congratulations. It sounds like you are  well over your initial struggles and the infection and are settling into being a mummy very well. I'm glad you have the support of your parents too, I'm sure this makes all the difference and they are a massive help to you.

Sarah, glad things are going well with you and Theo, I hope you get more sleep in the coming weeks.

Sar, you sound like a really busy bee at the moment. I hope your parents meeting with the  SW went well and October will be here before you know it. I hope you are enjoying the break - I'm guessing you are on summer holidays.

Tracy, I hope you and Toya are having a fab summer.

Wendy - I've been stalking you on another thread .... in a nice way Smile  it's good to hear you are / have made a decision on a way forward and whatever happens the decision will be right for you and Theo. You are such a strong lady and don't let people, knock you down.

Dee, Wow congratulations on your weight loss and starting your treatment. How was your monitoring scan today? Just to give you a positive IUI story, well I'm one of them. 1st time IUI (natural cycle) and BFP. Never thought it would work with what they told me regarding low fertility etc. Stay positive.

AFM,  I'm now 5 months and have a growing and very active bump. I'm doing great and feel very well, although one thing I'm not enjoying are the calf cramps in the middle of the night - gosh they're a killer lol
I've had lots going on including an on going issue with my employer of 12 years about my maternity leave. I'm hoping it will all be sorted this week, its certainly been a stressful time!!! One day I spent the morning at work in tears as the stress was just too much, but that certainly taught me that bump doesn't like stress , I'd never felt so much movement. It certainly sent me the message to relax and forget about everything that was going on as the health of baby and me are more important than my insensitive boss dithering about.
Oh I went to the Olympics on Saturday too and all I can say is what an amazing experience. The atmosphere and Olympic Park are just fantastic. I watched basketball but just wished I stayed later in the park and watched Jess win her gold.

I'm sure I've missed some people off but I'm going to post now before I lose this, so I hope everyone I haven't mentioned is doing great.

Love to all

Dee, sorry missed your post while I was typing. I was monitored every other day and was convinced I would ovulate on the Saturday. But the nurse told me I wouldn't and she'd see me on Monday, I didn't believe her as I knew when I normally ovulated and could near enough pin point it. Anyway it turned out the nurse was right Smile , and the dominant follicle hung on for a reason, I had my IUI the Monday afternoon.... and on mothers day got my BFP. So believe it can and does work.

What clinic are you at? I know Sheffield don't do IUI on the weekend but maybe other clinics do?

I'm sure everything will work out for you, it's been a long time coming and you have don't fantastic to get to this point, you are on your journey now and I'm sending you lots of positive vibes.

xXx

Hi

Jo Jo - Oh Oliver is so god damn cute I could just give him a dig squeeze you must be so proud. A big well done to you. Hopefully now after all your trauma things will settle down a little for you and go swimmingly. I am really chuffed for you. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Nic - Lucky you going to the Olympics I have been glued to it. I dont normally bother but this year I have really enjoyed most of the events. Whats your employer being funny about I though maternity was maternity and thats that they have to by law give you up to 12 months off. Try not to let it stress you out. Oh and also on your return you can apply to shorten your hours too and they have to have a good reason as to why they wont grant it also. Is it a big company you work for?

AFM - well I have been to look at a gym today very quiet which is great for me got pool and all the things I need for half the price of the other place I looked at so I think I will go there also no canx fee either which is a bonus. Managed to lose 10 pounds so far so I am trying really hard to be good. Got meeting with social worker tomorrow hope I dont get more homework LOL Laughing

Love to everyone hope your all ok xx

Hi

Nikky - Thank you so much for sharing your story with me. Its fantastic to hear that IUI can and does work, I have read so many times abut women who sadly tried and failed with IUI and then had to have a few cycles of IVF. I like you am having a natural cycle, my scan went ok and im hoping i am a little closer to ovulation when i go for more bloods and another scan tomorrow.

Congratualtions on your not so little bump and thanks you for allowing me to think that there is a chance of success with this cycle!

Sar - Congrats with the weight loss, I know just how hard it is! I have had so many poeple telling me how well I am looking and what my goal is, I'd love to see their faces if I turned round and told them that more goal was to get pregnant via IUI! I hope all went well with the social worker today and she's not set you any homework.

Right thats all from me tonight but i'll probably be back on tomorrow after my next monitoring, fingers crossed all is going well and things don't happen over the weekend!

Dee xx

Hi

I went again today and was given a scan, I have one follicle at 10.5 and one at 9.5. I was told that it is still early days for me and to come back Friday. I have a LH test to do tomorrow morning and I am to ring if its positive.

I am now getting really worried that i'll ovulate over the weekend and i'll miss this cycle. Also is it normal to only have two follicles? Guess im off for an evening of Googling!

Hope everyone else is well and apologies for the me, me, me comments but I need to let someone know whats happening!

Oohhhh, very exciting Dee!!!!
Will keep everything crossed for you!! Try not to go crazy in the 2WW (its is the longest and hardest two weeks in your life!!)
Will look forward to positive news!!

Just a quick one about Theo, then feed time and bed!
He has taken me surprise today by rolling from his back to his front on our bed!! Apparently this is done around 5-6months!! Theo is only 3months and 1 week!!! Bless him!! He is sooo strong and clever!

Hope everyone is OK.

Love Sarah x x

Hi everyone

How you getting on Dee? I hope you are chilling and relaxing. Got my fingers crossed for you.

Sarah - Ah thats so good re Theo how clever of him to be able to do that so soon. Treasure the moments they grow so fast.

Hope everyone else is ok. I am plodding through a load of online training courses at the mo for the adoption. I have done a attachment and loss, health and well being, neglect and abuse and I have just started a sex*alised behaviour one. Crumbs some of the things you read just begger believe they are awful how any human being could do these things to a child I dont know its terrible. I am definately querying now whether I could have a child that had been sexually abused because I am feeling so angry whilst reading this info. I think I would have too big a gob to not want to mouth off at the parents when you meet them. I will have to discuss this with social worker at my next meeting.

Nic, Jo, Wendy, Tracy how are you doing?

Take care everyone
xx

Hi

Thanks all for your messages.

Sarah Theo really is a clever little boy, you must be so proud!

Sar it sounds like you are doing well on your journey. I know exactly how you feel about struggling to keep your mouth shut. Im my job I have had to go to a number of social services meeting and sit along sit parents that i really want to speak my mind to.

Im doing well, im very tired and quite crampy but im know what im like for obsessing over imaginary symptoms so im trying not to obsess too much as its along way until OTD 31st August.

I'm being really thick now but can anyone tell me how to get the messages at the end pf each post saying your progress?

Take care all

Sarah - what a super stong and clever little boy Theo is, enjoy every moment with him. I hope you have got settled into more of a routine and getting more sleep?

Sar - great job on your weight loss, and finding a better gym too. I think a place you like makes it a lot easier to keep going and the pool will be a bonus. I'm swimming lots at the moment! The sound of some of the online courses you are doing definitely sound grim, I guess the end goal and rewards will be worth it......you'll be a fantastic mummy.

Jo - how you doing and how is little Oliver?

Dee - I hope the 2WW isn't driving you mad yet. I've left a post for you in the other IUI thread too Smile I see you mastered the info at the bottom of your posts - think I may have a try lol

AFM - I'm more or less sorted with my maternity leave, Sar the issue was with occupational maternity package but it's all sorted now - phew!!! I have 2 months left at work then a month off (saved annual leave up) before my due date. So far the first 26 weeks have flown, and I'm doing great and feeling fab - although the hot weather and broken air conditioning in the office have combined to give me swollen ankles Sad not very attractive at all lol I'm hoping it's not too hot on the bank holiday weekend as I have a wedding to go too and don't fancy having swollen feet on display. I'm quite looking forward to it and bought on a Isabella Oliver Maternity dress for the occasion, mum says its shows off my bump just right!!!

Take care everyone and I hope you all have a brilliant weekend.
xXx

Morning all

There is so much going on here, cant leave you all alone for 5 minutes lol.

Jo little Oliver is so adorable, well done for sticking to the breast feeding. I breast fed Toya but only managed for 6 weeks as found it totally draining.

Dee how are things going in the 2ww, its supposed to be a really happy time but i found it to be the longest 2 weeks of my life!

Nicky cant believe your half way there already, are you going to find out the sex of the little bump? So jelouse that you got to go to the olympics, i have been totaly glued to the tv for 16 days!

Sarah Theo is so cute, clever little man rolling over already. Before you know it he will be crawling.

Sar well done on the weight lose and joing the gym. As for keeping your mouth shut with parents it is something you learn to deal with hun, if i can do it im sure you can. You get to hear that many horror storys that you have to let it go over your head.

Does anyone no if Wendy got a bfp?

AFM everything is great here. Toya-Lily is such a pleasure to be around and i love every minute of every day with her. She cut 6 teeth in one week and she didnt winge once or have any sleepless nights. She loves dancing and is getting a right little show off if she has an audience! Constantly got a child in placement at the moment, you would be supprised in the summer holidays and christmas holidays how many people will put their kids into care as they dont want the responsibily of them during that time.

sorry for anyone i have missed, will catch up soon

Tracy x

Hiya

NicNacNoo - Im pleased you've mananged to sort out your maternity leave, you must be getting very excited now xx

Tracey - It sounds like you are very busy at the moment and Toya-Lily sounds like such a cutie!

AFM - Arghhhh!!!!!!! this 2WW is driving me insane and I have so many thoughts going around my head. I keep telling myself that I wont be pregnant and that it vrey unlikey, ive accepted thats its probably not worked but I have a little voice inside me that keeps shouting "shit, youre pregnant! Its worked!"

I was naughty a couple of days ago and tested to see if the ovitrelle was out of my system and i got a BFN so i knew any BFP's would be true. I then lost all controll this afternoon and tested again, knowing that it was too soon and yes I got a BFN.

Ive been having some really strange pulls and twinges for a few days and some very sharp pains yesterday. Im also getting a very similar feelings to when i had an ovrian cyst but its nowhere as painful as the cyst.

AF was due today and she hasnt shown, im normally 25 days but i have been known to go to 28 days twice in the past year. Im going out of my brain and i just want to know now!!!!!!

Sorry im ranting but i need to let it all out!!!

Dee xxx

Hi again

So my AF is now 4 days late, my temperature is still up but when i tested this morning it was a BFN. My cramps have all but stopped but I have been feeling like AF will start any minute for 3 days now. Im very tired the whole time but I think that is due to the stress of waiting.

Does anyone else have any news to occupy my mind and stop me obsessing as i reach the final 6 days of my 2WW

Dee xx

Hi Dee

Well those cramps could be implantation cramps so dont give up yet. I remember having pains in any boobs too have you had any of those? I tested 2 days before end of 2WW when I was preggers and got a BFP. So keeping everything crossed for you.

Hope everyone is ok.

Love the pic of Toya Lilly Tracey.

I had my (hopefully) final visit with social worker yesterday until panel in October. I do hope that all will go well. I am doing training courses online like they are going out of fashion. Also had my medical yesterday too. Doc said as far as he could see I was clinically fine. Passed all the tests my blood pressure was borderline but I did explain that I had been very anxious that day what with SW vsit and having fits on the phone with Orange as lost all signal on phone and they werent doing anything about it and then worrying about the medical so I wasnt surprised really that it was high.

Anyway been swimming again today and in the gym. I have lost 16 pounds now so I am very chuffed.

Hope all the babies are ok and mummies and mummies in waiting are doing good too.

Take care everyone xx

I can't believe it, ive finally got a BFP!!!!!!!!

I have been testing like on a mad woman on internet cheepy strips and this morning I thought both of the two strips had a very faint BFP so I went out and bought 'proper' tests and I have faint but definate BFP's on both the clearblue and the first reponse.

I can't believe I am finally pregnant and IUI worked first time.

Im just keeping everything crossed and praying that the pregnancy sticks!

Sar - I'm glad all went well with the Socail worker and you're passing all your tests! October will be here before your know it. Well done on the weight loss, i know its hard but i just found the mantra on do I want that biscuit or do I want to be a mummy? it helped me lose 6 stone anyway.

OMG i can't believe I have a BFP! Its going to be so hard to not tell my mum and dad yet, my sister knows but I want to wait until the 6week scan before i tell them.

Sorry for going on

Take care everyone

Dee xx

Hi everyone

Dee - woo hoo!!! massive congratulations. I'm really pleased for you. Its so wonderful to be so lucky with everything we have to go through to be a mummy. I hope you have a nice and easy pregnancy. You have the most amazing experiences ahead.

Sar - well done with the weight loss. It sounds as though everything is coming together. I hope the rest of the social worker stuff and panels go smoothly.

Tracy - sounds like Toya-Lily is a tough little cookie with those teeth! Bless her. Good to hear everything is going well.

Sarah - Theo just gets cuter with every photo. Its lovely seeing him on facebook as he is growing. It looks like you had a nice day at the beach.

Nicky - good to hear everything is going well. I hope you enjoyed the wedding. I really liked dressing up when I had my bump. The outfit and the event always seemed that bit more special. I hope you got some photos to keep as a momento.

Sorry if I have missed anyone.

Things are going well here, especially since the discovery of Colief! Oliver has had bad colic and reflux. I have been told it is due to his tongue-tie. This is being snipped next week (my poor baby) and I'm hoping his symptoms will improve then. Its awful when he's in pain. The breast feeding is going well and I'm really pleased I persevered with it. I'm loving being on maternity leave and I don't know how I will fit in time to go to work. Time is flying and it will be January before I know it! We did our first baby massage class today and it was wonderful. It was so nice and felt like a special moment together, even though there were other people in the room! I'll definitely be doing it at bedtime with Ollie.

I hope everyone is well and I'll stop rattling on now. I could talk about Ollie all day long!

Hello everyone

I hope you are all enjoying this ‘Indian summer’ we are having!! It’s been lovely here today.

Tracy – glad you are enjoying every minute of Toya-Lily developing, she certainly took teething in her stride and she sounds like such a confident little girl and such a joy to be around. You can see from your post that you are just bursting with pride Smile

Dee – how are things with you, has it finally sunk in now that you have done it and are actually pregnant? Have you told anyone else in your family or are you still waiting until you have your care scan?

Sar – well done on your weight loss, that’s fantastic. Glad things are going well on the adoption front, and October will be here before you know if for the panel meet. I hope the online courses have been a little easier on you that the ones you were finding difficult.

Jo – I hope everything goes well with Oliver’s op, I’m sure he will bonce back and hope you see an improvement with his colic and reflux. Your baby massage class sounds lovely, that’s one thing I’m definitely considering so its good to hear a positive story Smile

Sarah – I hope you and your clever little one are doing well?

Things with me are moving along nicely with my first antenatal class tomorrow, not really sure what to expect but hey ho!!! I had he decorator in last week to do all the upstairs, carpets cleaned next week and then I can start to get the ‘backroom’ ready for it to become baby’s room. It still feels a little strange calling it that!!
I did enjoy the wedding and it was nice to get a lot of comments about how well I was looking when I’d been feeling a bit down.

I also had a 4D scan on Sunday, it was a surprise for my dad. I didn’t want him feeling left out as mum had been to all the routine scans with me. He didn’t know where we were going at all, I just told him to be ready for 8am and we were going on a magical mystery tour lol We got to Leeds and into the building and he was still none the wiser. It was only when we got to the ‘Meet your Baby’ reception it twigged. Well he loved it and he’s not put his heartbeat bear down, he’s driving mum mad with it. I think both mum & dad were really pleased to be able to share the experience with me, it was also a thank you to them for all the support they have and continue to give. I’m going to try and add a few pictures but I’ve not idea how to do it so apologise in advance if I mess up and you see me plastered all over the page Very Happy

So this is me at the wedding with two of my very dear friends, the one to my right in the beige suit is going to be bumps godfather!!

This is my favourite image from the scan on Sunday

I think in this one baby is telling us its time to sleep now, or it’s a shy little thing just like mummy and wants to hide Wink

I think I’ve gone on enough now!!
Take care everyone

Tracy, Hope you and Toya-Lily are well. Hows the teething gone? Theo has been dribbling, biting on everything for weeks but no teeth yet!!

Theo is doing amazing!! He has learnt to sit up by himself, although not for too long, then falls over!! Had a few head bangs, that he hasn't liked!! He is already walking along the room holding your hands!! Little monkey will be walking before we know it!! And he is only 5 months old!
I started weaning at 18 weeks and it is going brilliantly! He has loved nearly all the foods given! Wasn't happy with broccoli although still ate it all! And got some very funny faces with the pea puree last night!!! Smile He is on three meals a day now though, so pleased with the progress.

(will try to add a new pic of Theo sitting!!)

Sorry, If I have missed people, Hope everyone is well.

Love Sarah x x
