| Hi Just a quickie, The baby brain is back. I just spoke to a collegue to cancel lunch meeting on Friday and said not to worry I would catch up with her at the Nurses meeting tomorrow. She said that she had just spent two hours in the nurses meeting. I have the wrong date in my diary. That is the second time I have done that in a month. Ooops. But seriously I can't keep missing meetings I will get shot. |

Hi Girls,
Midwife's appointment went well and i heard Juniors hb thumping away. Very happy!! one week to go before we see our precious miracle again.
Jazz, don't worry too much about not feeling bubbs much. I have only just started feeling Junior more this week and I'm a couple of weeks ahead of you. Atleast the doppler is reassuring. Your baby brain messages make me giggle - bless ya. Not played the 'pregnancy card' yet but i'm sure there'll be plenty of moments to come.
Hope everyone else is well.

Hi Beth,
Glad appointment went well. I have mine tomorrow. I didn't think I would ever need to say it was because I am pregnant but I really feel like I have lost my mind. Apparently it never comes back. Glad the messages make you giggle. They make me giggle sometimes too. |

Hi Ladies
Bethan - Glad to hear that your 20 week scan went so well & you got to have a really good look at your baby. Have you managed to catch your mouse yet? Hope you enjoy your weekend away in Prague.
Jazz – Thanks for the authors you have recommended I will look at them. Your cinema story made me smile. Its great when you feel the baby move for first time, it does feel like bubbles popping. Sorry to hear that Meatloaf was so disappointing. Hope your midwife appointment went well today.
Streeto – Hope that you aren’t having any more sharp pains. I can’t believe the made you wait that long when you are pregnant with twins. After the loss of our twin girls, I am dying to find out what we are having this time. Good luck with your scan next week.
Shar – Glad you had a lovely time in Devon. Congratulations on having a little boy. Hope that your mums scan went well.
Claire (mollycat) - Good luck with your scan this week.
Jan – I am still resting up, although I am working from home. Thanks for the suggestion on books I will look into them. My midwife was coming regular after me coming out of hospital but has now gone back to routine appointments.
Lorraine – Hello & welcome. I hope Mia’s birthday party went well on Sunday.
Claire_G – Good luck with scan tomorrow I am sure everything will be fine but I totally understand why you are worried. Glad you are enjoying your aquanatal class, I was hoping to join one but don’t think I will be allowed now.
Beth – Glad your midwife’s appointment went well. Good luck with your scan next week.
J & T – Hello & welcome.
Harri & Tors – Hope you are doing ok.
I have caved & bought a doppler off ebay, so at least I am able to listen to the twins heartbeats while I am stuck at home. My cold is finally getting better, I didn’t realise how much I relied on cold medicine until I wasn’t allowed to have any. Being stuck at home is being to get to me, I am looking forward to my scan on Tuesday as I get to leave the house & see my little ones.
Love Tania xxx |

Hi all -
Tania - well done you on getting a doppler, have you got the hang of it yet? Good luck on Tues, hope the pair of them behave themselves!
We think the mouse has no legged it but will leave the trap set while we're away just in case!
Jazz - how did you get on with your m/w today? Don't worry about the brain stuff it's perfectly natural! I sat there last week in a meeting that turned into a gossip session......and I just realised I was about 3 stories behind what was going on so couldn't join in! My Bubs was not reliable with movements for a while and I thought I'd imagined it - but as time goes on they get more active. Mine is really lovely at the mo with lots of moves everytime I relax....and not too hard yet!
Beth - really glad you had a good m/w appt. Good luck with your scan next week - not long now. Did you want to know the sex?
J&T and Streeto - hope all is okay with you - have added you both to the front, hope I got it right!
Claire G - don't think you're being irrational at all. As I said I'm a little happier now we've got to halfway and things seem to be fine - none of us will be happy til our little ones are here...and then there's another bag of worries to start on!
Good luck tomorrow and hope baby has it's legs crossed! Now what do you mean about your aquanatal group being more normal than us lot?????
Shar - so glad you were able to find out about your little boy. Bet your Mum likes knowing too. Is the nursery painted yet then?
Hi to Harri, Tors and Claire - hope all going well.
Felt really rough yesterday - went to bed at 2.30PM and didn't get out again til 11am today! Luckily had people helping out with dd for me. Bit better now but another reminder not to overdo things (especially while pg at my age!!!) We're off to Prague tomorrow - told dh it could well be a case of stopping regularly in cafes!
Best do some packing now then,
Have a good weekend all
Bethan x |

Morning Bunnies,
Well after a very busy day yesterday I managed to get to my appointment half an hour late. Thankfully my midwife is lovely and said it was fine. I am measuring 16 and half weeks. Heard HB very clearly and it was beating away at about 150bpm. I think that indicates a girl. I am feeling much less worried and getting more and more excited now. I still get the odd panic day but feel reassured now. She asked if I had felt any movement and I explained the bubbles and flip flops and she said that this would have been the baby. I lay in bed last night really still and quiet and felt it move again. It was more obvious this time.
I am so glad yous scans went well bunnies. Good luck all who have scans today. Sorry no personals but I am being sneeky at work again. Tomorrow off. Hooray. Then one more week and then a week off. I need the rest. |

YEAH, IT'S ALL OK!!!!
We had our 20wk scan this morning and it was just amazing, feel quite blown away by it to be honest. I thought it would just be like my 14 week scan but it was so much more indepth. The sonographer was the one who did our first scan and she has a lovely manner (not your usual non speaking type). We were in for a good 20 - 25 mins, and she was so thorough. We still dont know the sex as she managed to avoid that area very well. Cant get over how big it is now, it's thigh bone is the size of my little finger. It was sucking it's thumb, blowing bubbles and even had a drink of the fluid. There was a moment when we got to see the face really clearly, not just the skeleton and it has little chubby cheeks!!!! Im soo in love with it already! All the soft markers were normal and it's measuring spot on. Best scan I have ever had and just mind blowing! Both of us are over the moon!
Need to consider buying stuff now, been too scared before now.
Hope you are all well, thanks for being there ladies XX

Hello Ladies
Thought i would just drop a note to say hello and see how everyone is!! Great that everyone has fab news and that scans are great and midwife visits have been brill. I have to wait ages before i see the midwife i have to be 16 - 17 wks for my next appointment with her. I saw her at 9 wks at the insistance of my GP so now i just feel a bit out of the loop, i am desperate to hear the heartbeat but i guess 3wks is not that long.........i am trying to convince myself at the moment it seems like a life time!!!
I don't know whats wrong with me at the mo i feel really low in mood and just can't be bothered with anything, did anyone else feel like this?
Well glad all appears great with you all.

Hi Lorraine,
I have been having up and down moods. Sometimes I feel like crying for no reason and mood is in my boots. Other days I feel ok. The waiting seems to make it worse. I saw my midwife at 13 weeks because I was having some abdo pain, headaches and sickness. All of this was of course normal but I worry. I can call my midwives at any time and pop in to see them. You could call them and say you are worried about the length of time and because it id IVF baby I think we worry a lot. They will probably see you early. My midwife is great and is now seeing me 6 weekly instead of 8 weekly to ease my anxiety.
Try not to get too miserable. The waiting is endless. I now have a 3-4 week wait for 20 week scan. You are always waiting for the next hurdle. 13 weeks is a great milestone though. I was so excited to get to 10 weeks (double figures) then 12 weeks (reduced miscarrage risk) 13 weeks (getting a bump ish) 16 weeks (closer to half way and midwife appointment). I expect when I am in labour I will still be waiting.
It is so lovely to hear from you. Keep in touch. |

Thanks Jazz
I know what your saying is right and makes sense i am just being dramatic, i don't think the headaches i have help, i never seem to be free from them!! I left a message on the answerphone for my midwife about them but she never returned my call and i know from a few of my friends who have had her as their midwife this is not uncommon for her and they used to find it really hard to get hold of her. Still, tommorrow is another day
Thanks again, i am sure next time i am on here i shall be much brighter and hopefully headache free............
Take care

Well Ladies
First of all a massive apology for not being on here for ages! I am so busy and just don't seem to get time to respond although I have been keeping up with all the news! Anyway thought I would grab this chance to post our news!
We have been having a really great time and this weekend has just been wonderful. It started with our 20 week scan on Friday .... I am blown away by the whole thing .. firstly by the fact that I am half way there and starting to feel so wonderfully pregnant and secondly by what our beautiful baby looks like and is doing inside me! We were able to see all parts of the baby ... avoiding the nether regions as we don't want to know what it is! Little 'un was yawning, waving, sucking its thumb and generally wriggling around! It even gave us a clear thumbs up at one point which the sonographer managed to get as a picture for us! All its organs are in place and spot on for 20 weeks and she said that the clarity of our babies four chambers of its heart was the best she had seen for a while .. amazing considering its the size of a pea!! The good news is that there is now no sign of the other little one so my body has done its job ... obviosuly this lovely one is now big and strong enough to go it alone and the other ones services were no longer required .. don't think there would be much room left inside me anyway! I am quite big already .. nice neat bump but a good size now! The baby is moving around lots and lots .. normally when I go quiet and put my feet up to rest!
My inlaws arrived on Friday late afternoon and we went out to a very smart restaurant locally in celebration .. the food was amazing and I thought i really was going to explode by the end! Yesterday we had a very special day .... my DH uncle organised a get together of all my DH side of the family. It was the first time that they had all been together for about 10 years! The pinnicle to the family is my DH grandmother at nearly 90, then her three sons, my MIL ( my FIL is only one still married), her 3 grandsons and two granddaughters, with their husbands, wives and partners and finally her two greatgrandaughters ... and of course not forgetting the bump! She was so over whelmed to have everyone in one place ad it was amazing. We had suhun despite the miseable weather! SIL even managed to behave herself for a change.... she had been particularly difficult with me in the lead up to the week! Beginning to think that it is all jealousy that she would have liked to have been pregnant first. Anyway said my goodbyes and wished her and her hubby well in New Zealand.
Today we are off to walk Willow and then she is going back for weeks holiday with my inlaws which will be interesting!! ( My in laws have cream carpet through the whole downstairs of the house!!) They wanted to have her so will report back aftrwards on the destruction!!
My DH is going on a course in Wiltshire so I am heading down with him for tonight then heading into London tomorrow for a couple of nights to see my siblings and some friends. I am spending Weds at Centre Parcs with my 7 year old god daughter who is over with her family from Hong Kong .. I can't wait as I have not seen her since Christmas and she is so excited that I am having a baby! I am then going to spend a couple of days with my parents before picking DH and willow up and heading back here! So again I will be off the board but will catch up again with you all the week after.
Some well wishes now ....
Beth ... So glad that all went well with the midwife and you got to hear the heartbeat .. its an amazing moment.
Jazz .... You do make me laugh with your baby brain. Mine is just as bad and apparantly its worse after! I took the car in to be mended at our local garage this week. Drove down with Willow and then walked back past the lakes to home. The following day they rang to say all was fixed and it was ready to be collected! Great ... then I spent the next 4 hours trying to fnd the keys. Convinced I had dropped them in the lakes I rang DH in a huge panic.. he was in meetings all day .. however eventually he picked my message up and sensed the panic in it and rang! Only to inform me that my 4 hours of panic, stress etc had been for nothing as I would have had to leave the keys with the garage for them to fix it anyway! DOH!!!
As for the baby moving .. it took a while for mine to get regular and strong enough to distinguish as regular movements so I am sure it will happen for you soon!
Tania .. Do hope that you are not too bored .. and glad that you are looking after yourself. You must be getting rather frustrated stuck at home! Good Luck with scan on Tuesday.
Bethan .... have a fab time in Prague. Look forward to hearing all about it. Glad your 20 week scan was also so good.
Claire G .... Great news about yours too.
Lozza .. remain positive hun .. you have loads of great scans to look forward to and time goes by so quickly. You will be seeing your midwife before you know it.
Shar .. Really hope that your mums treatment is going ok and she must be delighted to know she has a grandson on the way!
J &T .. Welcome and good luck for the 20 week scan.
Mollycat, Harri and Streeto ... Hope you are all well.
Anyway Thinking of everyone and sending love to you all.
We are all doing so well and its SO EXCITING!!
Take Care

Hi Ladies,
I had a horrible dream last night. I have been having some vivid dreams recently but last night dreamt that we lost our baby, it was so horrible woke up in a right state and you know when you have a dream that effects your mood for the day...I grabbed my doppler and found a nice strong heartbeat...phew!
Im off to meet some old work friends today that I worked with about 8 years ago. We were such a close bunch, and they were with me when I went throuhg my first IVF cycle...think they may be a bit shocked when they see me and bump today!
Looked at prams this weekend and ended up buying 2 new cars...as you do!! Well we traded one in too. Me and DH sat in the very conventional family car and looked at each other and started to laugh at each other , when was is exactly that we became people that drive about in family cars??!! We loved it really though!
Tors:- Great to hear from you and so pleased you had a great scan on Friday.
Lozza:- Bit closer to your midwife appointment, time will pass hun. Keep strong.
Jazz:- Thanks for your well wishes. Any news on your date?
Ohh forgot to mention we have booked a 4D scan for 27 August, really looking forward to it...anyone else had one/having one?
Hi to everyone else.
Love

Morning Ladies,
Tors, Lovely to hear from you. You sound like you are having a great time. I am glad body has done its job and all; went well with the scan.
Claire, 2 Cars? wow. We are considering another car but I love my Polo. It has 4 doors so I might be able to get away with it. DH desperatly needs a new car. He has a mondeao which is fine size wise but I think it is a bit past its sell by date. We have not even thought about at whilst going through treatment. I suppose we will have to now. Sorry to hear about your dream. It sounds horrible. Dopplers are reassuring though. I am glad I have mine. I have also been having vivid dreams. Not that often though. A few weeks ago I had a horrible dream that I was really ill but eeryone thought I was drunk and no one would help me. Last night I drempt that I woke up with a huge purple mark halfway down one leg and accross my belly completly covered like a huge birth mark and was told it was stretch marks. Thankfully it was gone when I woke up.
Well start of another week. I am on leave next week and I can't wait. My sister is comming to stay for a few days. She will either be great or a pain in the bum. She is bringing he two boys with her. My great aunt is also coming that week and staying in a cottage locally.
Dad came over yesterday. It was nice to see him at home rather than the pub. His wife and kids came over too. Nat (step mum) was looking through the mother care book and offered to buy us another buggy/travel system. Great because we need another one that will fit in my car.
I have started knitting again and I am loving it. Using up old wool really. In our family and amoungst my friends when someone has a baby I usually Crochet a recieving blanket for the baby. I usually stick to yellow and white but for my last ones I did one pink and one blue. My friend had twins a boy and a girl. I knitted a had and some scratch mits yesterday and finished a blanket. Very cute. DH was sleeping because he was on nights.
Hi to everyone else. Hope all is well and you had good weekends. |

Morning all
Just having a quick catch up at work - sneeky i know !
Fab news to see all these 20 weeks scans going so well for us all
Not much to report at my end - Little chappie is wriggling about as usual and whereas before i would feel him whilst mainkly resting i am now starting to feel him during the day more - we thought we had already narrowed down a boys name but the list has now seemed to doubled !!! DH just keeps adding these random names to the list .
The nursery gets plastered Friday so we can paint this once its dry and we already have all the furniture delivered and nursery accessories ready to go - sad i know !!!
I am starting to get a bit bigger now, though my bumps fairly low down - just look fat still - hehe - i have just brought my first maternity jeans at the weekend so will be moving into those soon - oh the joys , some maternity stuff is just so frumpy isn't it.
Anyhoo - must get on with some work - will catch up on personals later.
Clare G - let me know how the 4D goes - we were thinking of having one but i think that as we know its a boy i want the surprise to see what he looks like, but i may change my mind yet x
Thanks for everybody asking how my mum is, i so appreciate you guys thinking about us, it helps thats for sure xx
Oh p.s - is anybody getting back ache ??- i seem to be really suffering at the mo - god only know what it will be like as i get bigger - eeek !!!
Speak soon
Love |

Morning Ladies,
Just been catching up and it looks like things are going wonderfully for you all Glad to hear all scans are good. Well, you've climbed the hill to 20wks now (most of you), believe me, the second half is much, much quicker! It really won't feel like more than a few weeks before your babies are arriving

Morning ladies,
Shar I have been in maturity clothes for ages. I can not get in to any of my normal clothes. I am not as far gone as you. I found some great jeans on littlewoods direct.com and also dorothy perkins have some nice stuff. They are a bit cheeper than the usual blooming marvelous and other specialist shops. I know what you mean about names. We had ours pretty much agreed now we have thought of loads more. Firstnames are definate it is the middle names we are struggaling with.
Well I am exhausted today. DH is on nights and I don't sleep very well. I seem to be on edge waiting for a phone call to say he is in a&e. (he works on high dependancy psych ward) I have lost count of the injuries he has had. He is also 6ft 4in so is alway called on when something kicks off. I fell asleep yesterday straight after work for an hour but could not sleep again after he left. Nodded off about 1am then Ella (dog) woke me at 4am wanting a wee. Barking and crying. So now I am really tired. I just nipped out and got a caffinated coffee from Nero and a muffin. I have not had caffine for 5 months so a bit worried about the effect. I might be high as a kite. At least I won't fall asleep at my desk.
I have a relativly boring day today. Just one client at 2pm. I should be gratefull because it is usually so manic but not having much to do makes the day drag and I feel worse. No baby brain antics to report today. I seemed to be fine over the weekend (touch wood) Maybe it is improving now the hormones have slowed down.
I don't know if anyone remembers me saying about my smug pregnant friend ages ago. Probably on 2ww thread or possibly awaiting scans? Well she had her baby at the weekend. A little boy. I still feel a little annoyed with her for being so smug when I was so desperate but it is good news for them.
Better do some work now. |

| Thanks for that Reds. At least it is an improvement. I have not done anything majorly silly this week. I do think maturity clothes sounds quite good though. I might continue to use that in the future. I am feeling very mature (not). I don't know if you remember me but I was on a thread about a year ago. You were so great and helpful. I did not think I would ever get here but I did and you were right. Thank you for that. You are a special lady to still be offering all this support. |

Hi Ladies
Bethan - Hope you had a lovely time in Prague.
Jazz - Glad your midwife appointment went well. The baby movement will become more & more frequent now. Great that you are knitting for your little one, I am absolutely rubbish at knitting so I’ll have to leave that for the grandma’s to do.
Streeto - Good luck with your scan this week.
Shar – Wow Shar you are really organised already. I think due to our previous circumstances we are reluctant to buy anything till we get to about 26 weeks.
Claire (mollycat) – How did your scan go last week.
Lorraine – It won’t be long till your midwife appointment comes round. It is pefectly normal to have days where your moods are up & down.
Claire_G - Sounds like your 20 week scan went very well. It is amazing how much detail you can see on the scan isn’t it. Hope you don’t have anymore horrible dreams. Blimey you had an expensive weekend buying 2 cars. I am looking to change my car sometime over the summer. I am also going to have a 4d scan but we haven’t booked it yet.
Beth - Good luck with your scan this week.
Tors - Sounds like your 20 week scan also went very well. Hope you have enjoyed your stay in London & Centre Parks tomorrow.
Reds – Thanks for popping over to see how we are all getting on.
Peacock - Lovely to hear from you. When is your 20 week scan?
Harri / J & T – Hope you are both doing ok
I have been for my 20 weeks scan today. We are having a boy & a girl. We are absolutely over the moon. They spent a long time checking everything, especially as the little girl wouldn't stay still. It was lovely to see them again & in such detail. We have some lovely scan photos. The placenta on the little boy has moved slightly & is only now partially covering my cervix. Hopefully it will move a bit more by the 24 week scan. I have an appointment with my consultant on monday where he will decide whether or not I need to stay in hospital from 22 - 28 weeks. I am glad that I bought the doppler, I am able to find their heartbeats reasonably easily & it definitely puts my mind at rest.
Love Tania xxx |

Tania,
Wonderful news Although I have to say ANY combination of twins is wonderful - they all have their bonuses!!! I'm sure you'll be bored stoopid if you have 6wks in hosp - hope you have some good books to read or you could start knitting like Jazz.
lol

Hi everyone, so pleased everyones scans are going well, i am getting really nervous for friday now- feeling alot of movement still and invested in a doppler which should arrive this week- so it should give me some reassurance.
Has anyone been prescribed iron tablets yet?? (esp tania due to twins) i was taking 25 mg liquid a day and midwife has just phoned to say i should be taking 200mg daily!!!!!!
Brill news tania- a boy and a girl you must be well chuffed. we are not going to find out but my nan said we have one of each- so will have to wait til they come out to find out. i am sure week 22 will be well stressful for you- might be best to say in hospital over those weeks, just to make sure.
Will be back on after my scan- hopefully with good news
