Hi everyone who knows me!!!

I've not been elusive, just keeping a low profile as we do when things 'start' on the egg donation front. I'm doing fine and great and am full of PMA. Will report further on all of that when I can x

Love to Lyn - sorry to hear you're likely to need to get the pesky fibroids removed before you can go again. Do you know when it's likely to be? Not nice, but if it makes a difference for the better..... Neutral

Cazza - looking forward to hearing your fab news very soon. A baby girl, how wonderful for you all!!! x

Shanders, I've emailed you! x

Maryrose, speak soon... Road rage eh? x

AliB - OMG you're huge at 26 weeks? Eek! Maybe they'll slow down a bit on the growing front???? Exciting but scary, I imagine!! x

Pika, Roch and Sophia - welcome and good luck with everything as you make your way on this journey...x

Megg, I've emailed you too, lovey daaarrrrrrrllllliiiiiiiiiinnnnnnggggggg!!! Tee hee! x

CAM - where's the pictures????? Come on girl, get your DH on the case!

Anyway, just wanted to post to let you know I'm around and am avidly reading your posts.

Will let you know how things go (of course)...

Hey - we're on page 3 already!

Good to see you on-board Daisy. I was wondering where you were...

Shanders, and everyone else who has asked - The jury is still out re when to try with our frozen embies.
Quite a lot to take into account and some of it contradictary.
I don't want to be P/G again at the moment. I actually cannot believe that I am writing that, but it is true.
Olly takes up all my energy. As you know, I like to keep busy and I feel like I have as much as I can handle right now.
The other thing is, I feel Olly deserves to be no.1 for a while. I don't want to push his nose out with a younger sibling and I am worried that that would happen.
Additionally, the thought of cycling again fills me with horror! I have done 10 txs in total and it has left its scars, believe me.

BUT...... weighed up against this, I have to take into account that those little snow babies are more likely to be viable if we don't leave it too long.
I also read somewhere that blood flow to the uterus is increased for 2 years, after pregnancy. That is influencing me too.

I'm not sure what we will do yet. I think we will play it by ear for a few months and see how finances [that's another consideration, of course] go and if we feel we could cope.
I was thinking about it earlier and Olly weighs 2 stone now. Not walking and fights to get free when you want to change his nappy and dress him. He is so lively, energetic and active that he doesn't want to stop for a minute. If I was P/G I wouldn't be able to lift him I don't think.
Seriously, it takes me all my strength and I am not puny, by any means. I am big and strong, weighing 11stone 10lbs.

So, no decisions yet, folks.

Cazza - I have been meaning to post you to tell you that our lowest recorded temp. was -10 here! Is it still frigid there?
When is your due date? I think there might be something missing off your signature as there looks like a space where something should be???
I love the pic of your 2 boys BTW. Have got a really nice one of my 2 and am considering posting it. Might have to, as it is so nice!

Love to all from Maryrose xxxx

Hi Maple

Thanks for your lovely message. I had my first treatment with Dr Lieberman. He is lovely. Some of the nurses were fantastic but some were very brutal. When my eggs fertilised some abnormally I was told the day after egg retrieval none had fertilised. I later found out that they had abnormally. When I went for the follow up they said I shouldn't try again as the egg quality wasn't good. Couldn't afford to then but wouldn't go back to them. As I said some of the nurses were really great but some so hard and uncaring.

I want to try the Manchester Care branch as I have heard it is good. When I was recommended to get the book by an author whose surname is Indichova - not sure if her first name is Julia her book helped me. They wouldn't treat me for a while because my FSH was too high. I do hope if it will be too high now I will get it down. I used a medical herbalist and became healthier. I will think positive and say if you really want to get a result anything is possible.

I say like Julia says don't let the experts say you can't do it because WE CAN!!!!!!

Morning everyone
Only a short one from me as I meant to be working from home (not doing TOOOOOO much though to disrupt my little embies from their sofa nests - they have bunk bed versions!! Yes I have lost the plot...)

Thanks for the welcome Daisy - lovely to meet you.

Roch, I'm so sorry to hear about your awful experiences. It makes me realise how lucky I have been to be treated well, and on 2 occassions to get to ET. It put things in perspective as this morning I was feeling a bit down as DH is now away in the US until late Sun night with work, so I'm counting my blessings again.

It's great you are thinking positive and looking at how you can help yourself - I know from my first cycle I have felt much more in control this time - I think because we are paying ourselves this time I really wanted to get decent service if that makes sense.

Take Care Everyone

Dear Pica

Thank you for your kind message. I am pleased you are ok. It sounds very promising for you. Do you live in France? Am I correct? The first time I had IVF/ICSI it was very expensive. I believe you have to be under 40 to get it on the NHS.

Look forward to hearing your good progress and good news from everyone else.

I am pleased you are feeling happier. Treat yourself and take it easy!

Love from Roch

Hi Roch
Thanks for the message, I live in the UK in Milton Keynes. My first attempt was agreed by the PCT just before I turned 40 so I had a three month "window" by which time the cycle had to be completed. MK PCT only give 1 attempt anyway so even if I was younger, they wouldn't have given us another go.

We have been amazed by what we have been able to achieve just by research and a proactive approach - my DH's count (our original problem) increased from 14 million about 4 months ago to 100 million last week, just from everything we have been doing ourselves like no caffeine, very little alcohol, organic foods, no baths etc..(he does shower, he doesn't stink!!!). So you never know what improving your health may do for you!!

Take care

Dear Pica

You sound brilliant. What is a DH? Is that to do with the sperm count and if so how did he do it. My husband needs some help there as well. I do eat organic carrots and apples but I also eat tons of sweet food and am about three to four stone overweight.

At the moment my mum is ill. She fell twice before Christmas and has been bed bound since for just over three weeks. Her right knee is giving way from the arthritus and she had a bladder problem where she keeps going to the toilet during the night every half an hour to an hour. We are taking her to hospital today for more investigations on her bladder problem. My brother and I have been sharing staying over with her. The last few nights I have been with my husband at home.

I have been eating probably even worse the last few days and know if I don't stop it I will be told I am too fat for IVF. That is what Dr Lieberman's clinic told me and I did get my weight down.

I think I need to minimise the sweet food completely and it wouldn't be a problem not having alcohol as I only drink occasionally. I could easily cut tea out too but is fruit tea ok. I try and drink quite a bit of water but should probably drink even more.

Have a great weekend. Hope you are feeling full of sunshine.

Love from Roch xxxxxxx

Afternoon all!!

Pick and Roch - sounds like you have following some sounds advice - have either of you read or looked at Zita West books? Lots of suggestions and good stuff in there....
BTW its me that lives in France!

Maryrose - thanks for the kind comments on my 2 DS. We all know we are biased (but they are good looking arent they??) When you gonna post your pic then??
Not too much to report from here - sleep and heartburn seem to be the main thing going on in my life - however did get the urge to do the ironing and hoovering yesterday and today - so hopeing thats a good sign that things are coming to close.

Quick question about blood pressure (if anyone can help) - I thinking Im just stressing over nothing, but Im a bit worried that I havnt been seen by anyone since 11th Dec ( I had pressure checked and all OK) but my next appt isnt til next Thursday. Its just Im concious that I havnt been checked, my fingers arent particulalry swollen but they are bigger than they have been (rings are getting tight) and Ive got a headache which seems to keep coming and going - I havent taken anything for it so its not that bad I have put it down to lack of sleep. Should I just take it easy ( perhaps the hoover surge hasnt helped) and hang on til Thurs - baby moves around OK there are days when the movement is a lot less but think thats down to space! Lack Of. Just want to see what the opinion is - If I speak to DH he'll just say - well what are you saying? What do you think? I DONT KNOW - praps just stressing.

ANyway take care all

Cazza

Hi Cazza
Sorry to hear you haven''t been feeling great.
Now, I know nothing about high blood pressure and have never been pregnant BUT I think that if it is bothering you, then the stress it's causing isn't good for you or baby and you should put your mind at rest by going to get it checked out. At least then you can relax - your headache won't be helped if you are tense.

That's what I would do anyway. Hope it helps, I don't think you are stressing over nothing at all.. I would be worried too..but I do stress about EVERYTHING!!!!

Hope you feel better soon

Cazza,

Def get your BP checked hun - you know the signs ie swelling, headaches can be the start of trouble or absolutely nothing at all. Why worry yourself needlessly? Give your MW/hospital a ring and get them to check you (check your urine too!!!) just to rule any problems OUT.

As Pika says, stressing about it ain't going to make it go away.

lol

Hello Ladies,

Pikachui - Glad to hear that you are taking good care of yourself and your precious cargo. You sound so positive which is great. I have really noticed a positive correlation between ladies with PMA on this BB and the those who get BFPs. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
BTW, the bunk bed comment made me laugh. Ah, what a sweet picture that conjures up!

Roch - Hello there, we haven't spoken before, have we? I am an old timer on here. I had my last treatment cycle [at CARE Manchester by the way] in 2007 and now I have got 12 month old Olly who is an absolute darling and the light of our lives.

I saw your other post too and just wanted to say that I am older than you! Wink We did have DE though. If you go to CARE for an initial appointment, prepare yourself for the donated egg pep-talk as you will most likely get it. I am sure that they will treat you with your own eggs though, providing your FSH is low enough. There is hormonal treatment that they can give you for a month pre IVF cycle to try to bring FSH levels down.
Best of luck.

Cazza - God! I've just spent flipping ages messing about with this pic on Photobucket! I will sodding well screech if it hasn't resized and cropped. It didn't save the changes the 1st time.

Oh and it was your ticker that was missing ... or I couldn't see for some reason. 36 weeks already, hun. Where did that go? Have you decided on a name for your little beauty?

I agree with what the others said - I read your post earlier but didn't have time to reply. I would pop along to your GP. Is it as easy there as it is here?
Did you know that France is supposed to be the most advanced nation in Europe when it comes to babies and children??? Would you agree with that?

Here's the pic....

Something very funny for all of you. When my Mother saw this photo, she thought it was me holding Olly! ! ! !
Now I know her eyesight is failing but really .... I am sure I am not THAT flat-chested! LOL Laughing Laughing

Maple - How are you today, lovely lady? I will email you again over the weekend.

Roch - I forgot to say .... DH stands for darling husband!

Must go now. DH is waiting for me to decide what I want to eat! I have made him a Spag Bol, but don't fancy it myself, even though it is a rather nice one.
And remind me to tell you all about last night.... Bl**dy hell! The things you have to do.....

Lots of love to all from Maryrose xxxx
PS. Pic hasn't resized! Grrrrrrr. Will post and come out of the BB, come back in and check. Sometimes it magically resizes in the meantime!

Hi Roch
so sorry for the delay in replying... this is what DH and I did to help his sperm count:

- generally tried to be healthier in our diet (though we did have a few naughty mince pies and chocs at Christmas)
- cut out all caffeine, drinking only organically decaffinated coffee, fruit or Rooibos tea with xylitol (sugar substitute from health food shops) or organic sugar
- reduced alcohol even further than on the first cycle to barely nothing (e.g. just 1 glass of wine on xmas day etc)
- started having organic fruit & veg boxes delivered
- buying mainly ( I would say 80%) organic food generally - the supermarkets offer many more options now, Sainsburys and Waitrose are very good, but also expensive
- stopped drinking diet drinks with aspartame in (no added sugar squash etc) swapping for organic fruit cordials.
- he takes either Zita West for men vitamins or Fertility Plus by NHP, as well as Lycopene and Garlic Extract.
- we use more natural cleaning products round the home, organic toiletries etc.. we just gradually swapped to these, we didn't chuck everything out
- neither of us smoke anyway
- he stopped having hot baths/saunas etc

I'm so sorry to hear about your Mum being poorly, that must be a huge strain for you, and I know lots of people who turn to food in those kind of situations. Do try not to beat yourself up too much - you are human after all! after my first negative cycle I decided I needed to use my energy positively and set to work on seeing how I could help myself. But I know it is really hard - especially with other stresses to think about.

Take Care, and I hope your Mum got on well at the hospital

Hi Ladies,

Sorry I have been absent for a few days ... it has been manic for me, as I have been busy organising and getting ready my operation. It has been scheduled for early next week ... so really not much time to cr4p myself! I am dreading it ... but looking forward to getting it over and done with!

Maryrose and Cazza - both of you have such gorgeous looking boys. The older ones ... yummmy ... I'm just glad that I am old enough to be their mother!!!!!

Cazza - hope that you've had your check-up by now, and that everything is hunky dorey and that you are feeling better. Have you managed to get a delivery date from your consultant?

Maryrose - there is absolutely no rush to jump into another cycle. You are right ... it is such a shame not to enjoy Olly to the max. whilst he is still so young (and sooooo cute) ... another one so quickly will make such a huge demand on you and needless to say take your attention away from little Olly (who is changing and developing day by day).

Pika - sound like you are bearing up well with the 2ww. When is your official test date? I just want you wish you all the best ... hope that you get that golden BFP!

Roch - hope that your mum is getting better. I have a huge problem with chocolates and sweets too ... Christmas hasn't helped either!

Sophia, Kathy, Shanders and Megg - hope you are all well and the waiting (for treatment) isn't driving you nuts.

Daisy - hope that things are progressing well with your treatment.

Ali - how are you coping with the 'blooming' ... you must be so uncomfortable with the twinnies now. Please give your tum a rub from me to say hello to your boys.

I hope I haven't missed anybody, but apologies if I have. I may be off-line for the next few days (whilst I am recovering from the operation). Meanwhile, take lots of care, ladies. Finally, good luck to Pika ... I really hope that your dreams come true soon!

Love to All,
Lyn

Good luck with the op. Just think it's another positive step on the path to getting your dream.

Take care now and look forward to hearing from you when you are back on track.

Bye for now

Cazza - thank you for your kind message. I have got a Zita West book somewhere. I will dig it out. I agree you should get your blood pressure checked out but to make you feel better (although I have never been pregnant) mine was extremely high last year. I got terrible headaches and it did worry me. I got checked out at the Hospital and Doctor and was put under the headache clinic. I would say anything that would make you feel relaxed would help you. I once heard eating bananas brings your blood pressure down. If there any treatments ie masage you could have at the moment or relfexology. These would make you feel better. x

Maryrose - your Olly is beautiful. He is really lovely. I hope you are well and good luck. x

Pica - thank you for your lovely message. Thanks for your excellent advice. I will get some of the Zita West vitamins for my DH. Hope you are feeling really well. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. x

Maple - thanks for your kind words. I hope your oepration goes well. x

To everyone else stay happy and keep smiling.

Love from

Roch xxxx

Lyn....Just want to wish you all the best for your op...I'm sure it will be over and done before you know it and those xmas 7lbs will be gone!!!!......Take care and make sure DH looks after you....If you have a quick recovery we could be cycling buddies after all......x

Roch....I don't know if you have bought your Zita West tablets yet but I took them on my last treatment and my DP is taking Vitamen now and just to let you know on the ZW website they are £18.50 plus £2.75 p&p but if you go on www.naturesclock.co.uk they are £15.39 p&p free - hope this helps.....x

Hope everyone is ok this cold and blustery Sunday..I have just been out for coffee with a couple of friends to a Starbucks in a new hotel near me..There is also a new gym - obviously I didn't join but it was amazing how many people were going in - it tired me out just watching all the comings and goings!
At least I can say I went to the gym today!!! It's as near as I will get! You don't get a body like mine by doing things like that!!!

Will catch up with you all later.....PMA PMA PMA...

Another quickie from me... Maryrose, I keep re-reading the post about your mom thinking the pic of Olly and big DS was Olly and you!!! I can't read it without screaming laughing! Did your mom HONESTLY think you'd even show her a picture of you TOPLESS??? Honestly, I really can't stop reading it, it's just the funniest thing EVER! Just don't tell DS that I keep looking at his chest and trying to see WHY your mom would think it could belong to you!!!!

In fairness, big DS does look like you - facially, I might add, as I've not seen your bare chest, it has to be said!! Though your hair is a tad longer...! I think you should treat your mom to some new reading glasses for her birthday..!

And I am so sorry to hear Olly's got measles. Is it definitely measles and not anything else? I'm guessing you've had the 'official' diagnosis.. Poor little chap, no wonder he's been out of sorts lately Sad

Just about to email you, so catch up soon...

Daisy x x x

PS Will email you to Shanders x
