I have rung care to ask about what is involved in FET but after phone call felt that I didn't really know enough other than the financial implications. As we had not had FET before she suggested meeting with a consultant, followed by a nurse. However I was wondering what experiences you have had. Did you go to see consultant then have your protocol set up or can they establish that based on previous IVF treatment etc? Basically do we need to see consultant?
Any other information about what is involved and what to expect would be gratefully received. Thank you in advance.

Hi rlt - yes we saw a consultant to discuss the options ie medicated or natural fet before he did the protocol, we were,nt charged as it was in our review apt. Following the birth of our son we also saw our consultant again to discuss our options and I don't think we were charged.
If you opt for a natural fet the cost is no more than £1100.
Good luck with your apt and FET, my little boy and this pg now is from FETs so I'm a big fan. There are many ladies on here with have been successful

Hi rlt,
Even the drugs with a medicated FET cost peanuts - mine was less than £150. I was on a medicated so I downregged with buserelin from day 21, scanned a week after AF, started taking HRT and then had transfer about 2 weeks later, with the pessaries starting a couple of days before ET. I was also scanned twice during the HRT to ensure the lining was thickening OK. Much, much easier ..... and it worked!
Good luck!

Thanks ladies. I've been told it is 150 for the consultation. Congratulations on your children and pregnancy. We have almost 18 month old dd from icsi. The embryos are from that cycle. Like everyone else we were hoping for a natural miracle. There really do seem to be so many on here! Equally I would like to give our frosties a chance.
