Hi,

I am hoping to start a second IVF cycle in july/august after getting a BFN in April Crying or Very sad

.

I was just wonding if anyone has any advise on what they have done differently between cycles that might help me.

sorry to hear about you bfn hun will keep fingers crossed for you.
im not a patient at care fertility but i am about to start treatment later this month i have been waiting for an egg donor/egg share for 2 years and this is my first cycle. i went through the menopause early to late 20's.

im 30 & my hubby is 29. i have already convinced myself it wont work for us and not sure we could afford treatment away from the NHS.

ive stopped caffine and alcohol and trying to eat healthy foods and getting plenty of exercise but not sure what else to do?

Thanks for you reply. I'm sorry to hear about your situation Sad

. Having been through one cycle i'm not feeling positive about my second cycle - however we do need to try and stay positive (easier said then done though!). My diet is pretty similar to your at the minute. Our first cycle was NHS funded and we are paying for the second cycle but don't think we will be able to afford to pay for another cycle if this one doesn't work.

I hope you have a positive outcome.

Will keep everything crossed for you

Hope you dont mind me joining in. I also had a bfn in April. I am very fortunate as have two children already but the bfn completely devastated me! We paid for the last go ourselves and have had to scrape the barrell completely dry for this one.

Would love a cycle buddy if anyone else is starting July time.

Hi girls hope you don't mind me joining you we had our 2nd BFN in march which was our last NHS funded cycle so are now going to care got our 1st appointment on 20th june can't say I'm looking forward to doing it all again but you have to do what you have to do & keep positive. Sending you all lots of luck & hugs xxxx

welcome amy & cuddles. Would be good if we could buddy up as we go through another cycle. I think we are all brave to put ourselves through this again but like amy say's we need to do what we need to do. It will be gd to have someone to talk too this time round as i found it an emotional roller coaster last time.

Hiya Flossie & Cuddles thankyou for replying yeah flossie we should all buddy up because I know from my last 2 cycles it really helps to have someone who knows how you feel & can support you like no one else can. When are you guys planning on treatment? We don't think we'll start until aug/sept time let my body have abit of a rest! Sending hugs xx

hi amy,
i'm hoping to start begining of aug so that it coinsides with the school hols (i'm a teacher), a longer break from the drugs would have been nice but i can't go through the ivf while working again as i found it too tough & can't take time off in term time! I didn't use this to talk to people before and really wish i had as i had no one to talk to who knew what i was goin through so i think it will be gd for me this time round.

Hi Flossie yeah definately helps chatting & reading other threads its quite strange because I made some brilliant friends but yet have never met them & probably never will but you become really close because your on the same emotional rolacoaster. I know what you mean about work I work as a veterinary nurse & I found it hard working & juggling all the hosp appointments, injections .etc. Did you have your last cycle with Care?

Hi Amy,

I had my last cycle with Care, I found them all very nice and supportive. I went for an accupuncture session tonight as I had heard that it can help, I figured I have nothing to lose by giving it but I don't seem to be able to convince my DH!

Hi Flossie yeah accupuncture is supposed to help anything is worth a try & its very relaxing I had it for a my sore knee & when I had tendonitis but not tried it during the ivf rollercoaster because I don't know any therapists locally that do it for fertility problems. How did you find it?
I've just taken up pilates because I feel so unfit & run down from the last year that I need something to strengthen & relax me before embarking on round 3! Sending hugs xxxx

Hi guy's,

Just read all you're stories, I'm embarking on my 2nd attempt, July/Aug. Don't know what's wrong with me this tine...as awful as it sounds I'm sooo negative! I only have a tubal factor, but still didn't get pregnant last time..and it was a bloody blast! Anyone else feel uninspired?

Hi Amy, i googled accupuncture and just rang around a few until i found one that works with infertility. it's a 30 minute drive but that doesn't bother me too much. The guy i saw last wk suggested i try yoga to relax so might give that a go - i'm just trying to make time for myself and wrk less leading up to my nxt treatment, but it's not easy!!!

Welcome Dizzee, i'm sorry to hear your story. i had a 5 day blast put back last time and had non to freeze. Looks like we will be going through our next cycles about the same time. I understand where your coming from with the nagativity as i am the same, i can't help thinking that if it didn't wrk last time why would this time be any differrent as they say i responded well to the drugs!! Hi Dizzee & Flossie try not to get to down hearted I know its easier said than done but from my experience you've just got to try & train your brain into positive thoughts & of course lots of chocolate can help! Chatting on here really helps but I know what you mean I do have some days where I want to cry & scream alot!! Sending you both positive thoughts & lots of hugs xxxx

Hi Ladies can i join in??? we are embarking on our 2nd cycle of IVF hoping for Aug/Sept start having to wait for my 3rd af to arrive. i got my BFP back in april sadly on OTD i started to miscarry this then ended in a "biochemical loss" was their words in a letter copied to my GP. i dont know what or how to feel about the next round pretty much still in shock i actually got pregnant LOL. i have no known fertility problems we just dont have the male factor in our lives

Hiya Flossie yeah yoga will be good for you I've just started pilates this week but trying to motivate myself is hard work!! I'm fine abit aprehensive about our app at Care on monday trying to write down all our questions so we don't forget to ask anything! Have you started your accupuncture yet?

Hi girls hope your all ok. We had our 1st app with Dr Patel yesterday he thinks it may be an immune problem but also thinks we need to have the array CGH aswell because of the poor embryo quality of our last two cycles. So we are going for the immune blood tests on the 4th July feeling slightly apprehensive about the immune stuff because it all seems very complicated but I have read Dr Beer's book which has made me understand it abit more but think I might have to read it again now!! Hope your all doing ok sending you all lots of hugs xxxx

Hope you don't mind me joining. I had my first IVF cycle which failed in April. I'm planning to start again August/September. Gives me time to save up and for me to get my body ready again.

Plan is to start eating very healthy now, so got two months before I start the drugs.

Amy5, do you mind me asking how many eggs were collected, matured and fertilised on your last two cycles? My doctor said that the embryologist noted that they had difficulty injecting (ICSI) in some of my eggs, which left us with only 2 fertilized. Although they can't say if this is a one off case, or if this is a problem for me, as they can't make judgments based on one cycle.

I'm wondering if the Array thing is something I might need to consider too.

Can I join you ladies!!!

I recently had my et cancelled due to high risk of OHSS so won't be able to start again till mid august that's hoping my cycles don't go all crazy on me. I have 8 frosties in the freezer, just hope they survive the thaw!!!
This will be my first attempt at ivf for myself, I have had 2 attempts before as a surrogate but it feels completely different when it's for yourself- far more stressful.

Welcome Piglet & Chencat great you've joined the thread.
Hi Piglet well I had 10 eggs the 1st cycle which 8 were mature but only 2 fertilised & then only 1 was viable embryo, so 2nd cycle we had ICSI we only got 7 eggs which 4 were mature, 3 fertilised & had 2 embryos transferred but were not very good grade .etc. I think they had a problem with 1 of the eggs being to hard when they did the ICSI.

Thanks Amy5. I had 8 collected, 5 mature and 2 fertilised. I never heard of hard eggs before my follow up appointment. Kinda good to hear someone else had egg(s) which were also difficult to inject with ICSI.

glad to hear your appointment went well amy.

I'm glad it's the weekend as need the rest after a busy week at work. Unfortunatley my yoga was cancelled this wk, so something to look forward to next wk! The accupunture is going well, although i've still not noticed any difference.

Hope u all have a good weekend and stay positive.
