Maryrose
Thank you !! We're both fit and healthy (DH has just done a charity swim around Burgh Island and still does martial arts after 25 years, and sometimes teaches too !), think it's just those little niggles in the down moments that came out the other night. I will read your response to DH later
Still waiting for AF, 2 days late now. Just want to get on with it
Off out with our neighbours tonight, then staying with friends at the weekend, so nice relaxing weekend should help....

Hello Ladies
What a blummin roller coaster of a day I'm having !!!!
Got up this morning and no sign of AF, and for some reason I decided to do a preg test as I'm on day 30 and am normally 26/27 day cycle. Fully expecting it to be negative, it was positive !!!!
Phoned Care MK, and Julie wasn't in, she didn't call me back til gone 11am as had a late start. The buserelin does not have hcg in it, so she reckons its accuarate, but she called Mr Stock anyway. So upshot is, I've just been up for a blood test, been told not to inject tonight, and she'll call me in the morning when the lab has phoned through the results !
I've had funny twinges, which I had last time, and last night at aerobics I thought my boobs were really tender, but put it all down the the drugs..... maybe not !
Working from home today and cannot concentrate at all !

OMG!!! Kitkat... I bet that was a bolt out of the blue for you! I bet you wish it was tomorrow now! Praying for you that it is a positive and if it is OMG how close to a cycle was that!
I bet you cannot concentrate, I have been like that all week... not slept for the last 3 nights, I am not sure if it is the cetrotide that I started 3 nights ago as before I started taking that I was sleeping o.k but thinking it is more than likely with everything going on, although I don't feel stressed etc it must be playing on my mind I think it is the waiting of the scans etc until we get the go ahead to do trigger shot and have EC. I go back for another scan for 8 am in the morning... another long day! up at 6am go for scan then off to work too
Denny - Hope you are o.k x |

Evening ladies
Wow Kitkat sounds exciting, I guess you have not got any work done at all today, I truly hope tomorrow brings a confirmation of a BFP for you both
Footsteps, sounds like those follies are coming along nicely and will be hopefully ready for you to collect very soon, what time is your scan tomorrow are you up with the lark again?
Well had a very interesting week, blood test showed FSH levels were fine, however after our Array meeting we have decided to include this a part of our cycle.
There seems to be no reason not to, quite simply it means that any embryos we put back will be normal - not just in the case of not having any chromosome issues but also normal in that fact that they are a viable pregnancy rather that lose at early stages, which is most of the time why they dont make it, there is a problem with the egg but it is not possible to know this from just "looking at them" so to speak.
Sorry Kitkat don't want to sound negative but wanted to post what had happened with us - anyway I am sure if you have a little bean in there they will be a sticky one.
So moving to a long protocol start meds on Day 21 which is only about 18 days so not long, just waiting for my new protocol, we will complete a cycle by Christmas - what a fab Chriggy pressie that would be!
Had a super day at The Trafford Centre, quick visit to Mamas and Papas as you do!!
Little retail therapy, lovely lunch and a trip to the Cinema - and then the Array meeting which made us both feel very positive
Hope you all have a super weekend, work tomorrow and hopefully a day off Sunday.

Denny - Yes up with the lark again hopefully we will get some indication of when EC will take place! and then straight to work for a long day good news on the blood tests and it sounds like the Array meeting was positive too... does this mean that your current cycle is on hold till day 21 because you are including ArrayCGH or is it business as usual? excuse me from being a tad blonde and confused (just with our protocols being entirely different)
Kitkat - have a fab weekend at your friends... and at least you don't have to disappear for a short while to do your injection |

Crikey Kitkat!!! Just seen your post...
I have to tell you that I have seen this happen a couple of times, when ladies have been down regulating, in my years on this BB and ..... all has been well with those ladies going on to have a successful pregnancy.
Fingers crossed for you.
A little known fact is that Buserelin actually acts as a hormonal stimulant, before it damps things down and so it is unlikely to have done any harm.
This is why ladies tend to get ovarian cysts from down regulation [me included] as the Buserelin encourages the follicles and then they cannot burst as the drug properly kicks in. My consultant told me this.
So excited for you. Love Maryrose xxx |

Footsteps, good luck for tomorrow (today even with the time of this post) and hopefully you will have a day for EC after your scan - exciting
For us apparently we would have gone with a different protocol had we have known about the Array before so luckily we were able to go with this as we had not really started the other, only the progynova for the previous month but this was fine, so yep Day 21 start for us - not long to wait.
Kitkat hope you have a lovely weekend with your friends and what Maryrose has said looks really promising so look forward to reading your next update.
Night ladies

Morning !
Denny - that's not negative, it's just fact at our age. And that's exactly what happened to me a year ago, 6 week scan showed wasn't a viable pregnancy, but was another 2 weeks before I miscarried. It was knowing I had something inside me that wasn't going to grow into a baby and waiting for my body to realise this and get rid of it that was the hardest part.
MK Northampton don't offer ArrayCGH, but if I do need IVF in the future (I am praying that I don't and that this egg is a good one !) then I would go for that too. How much extra is it, just out of interest ?
Maryrose - yes, that is what Julie told me. The Buserelin will have done no harm at all, and she's had a couple of ladies that this has happened to too.
Just running round getting ready to leave. I will try and post from my iPhone when I hear from Julie.
Calm, breathe, relax, don't stress......

Kitkat - well done you - oh and I guess DH too
Presume you still going away for your weekend, you will be walking around with the biggest grins ever and everyone will think you are both nuts.
So how stonkingly pregnant are you and when is baby due?
Let hope you are the first of the three of us - now that's a very nice thought...................
Footsteps - how did your scan go, are those follies ready for EC yet - are you asleep in a corner at work somewhere having fallen asleep as you were up at stupid o'clock again - my terminology for getting up in the dark - it is not natural to do this
Hope all went well for you and you have a date for your EC and of course do manage to get some sleep tonight.
Well a busy day at work today but all good, feeling very positive about the Array and our chances of success definitely improve with this, so hoping for a few nice "normal" eggs when we get started
Catch up later all

Kitkat I wish you and DH a BIG stonking CONGRATULATIONS on you BFP!! I can see it now... you and DH walking round like Cheshire Cats What a weekend for you both
Denny good news that you don't have too long to wait till you start your cycle and you are feeling more positive about doing Array CGH... picking the best from the best
Well, I have managed to get through the day (doing nothing!) just got home, got a splitting headache and absolutely shattered!! Hopefully will get some sleep tonight!
Scan went really well... I have got 6 mature follies ready for collection on monday (hopefully a few more may catch up by then too!) So last night of injections and I do my trigger shot at midnight! and booked in for EC 11am monday |

Hi Ladies
Thank you all !!! Just home and to be honest it still hasn't sunk in properly, for either of us !!
We were walking round with grins, and little looks between us. We did tell our friends, we were staying with DHs best friend who was also our best man. They were both really pleased for us.
I'm only 4 weeks and 3 days, but yes Maryrose must mean really high hcg levels, which I'm hoping is a good sign. And already I have really tender boobs which didn't happen til about another 7 to 10 days last time, so hoping that's a good sign too. And I absolutely HATE being sick, but really looking forward to a bout of morning sickness, as that's a healthy sign too LOL !
Denny, due date 5th July, and it's my birthday on 9th July..... so potentially this baby could have been conceived on DH's birthday and born on my birthday
But, still very early days, and I'm nervous after last time, just want to get past the 8 week mark, and then have a healthy 12 week scan, and then I'll relax. 12 weeks on Dec 22nd. So just gonna take good care, eat healthily, relax, and try not to stress and worry too much.
Footsteps - EC tomorrow ! WOW ! Bet you're well excited..... hope it goes really well.

Denny - hope you have not had to work today and had a relaxing day
Well, injection free tonight! yippee (even tho they are not too bad... really!) I am excited about EC tomorrow but a little anxious too... about whats to come afterwards, with how many eggs will be retrieved, how many will fertilize, gradings, 2ww etc.... I suppose this is were the rollercoaster starts |

Evening
Kitkat - does your mouth ache from grinning yet?? Excellent due date our Wedding Anniversary
Wishing you a very safe, healthy and enjoyable (!) pregnancy, may you be the first of the three of us.
Footsteps - not a full day off but some, been for a lovely walk around one of the local lakes with DH and the puppy dog, that was nice and the sun was shining so even better.
Enjoy your injection free evening and I truly wish you all the best for tomorrow, I am sure they will collect lots of healthy raring to be baby eggs
What time do you have to go in? Hopefully not quite as early as your two previous visits?
Take care both

Hello Ladies,
Well EC done and dusted! and we got 5 eggs (6th one that we thought would be o.k didn't quite get there in size) Was worried about being sedated.. and being semi conscious having that drunken dizzy feeling etc.. but to be honest I don't know what I was worried about.. I was doped up enough that I was asleep throughout the whole procedure! So just got to wait until the embryologist calls tomorrow with news of how many were mature & fertilized etc.... should be back in on Thurs for ET unless we get to blastocyst (think thats what Mr Atkins said... still a bit dopey from anaesthetic ) it will be Saturday for ET
Feeling quite sore now but not as bad as I thought! not had to take any painkillers yet I am sure I will sleep tonight too (hopefully!)
One thing I can say too is compliments to the chef! We had some lunch.. soup and a choice of a sandwich/roll (not a great soup lover!) When it was brought in to us the soup was curried parsnip which he said sounds yuk! but is really nice... and he was right it was lovely! I wanted to ask him for the recipe |

Footsteps - excellent, five that's great, I hope that they all do their thing and end up super duper ones ready for transfer.
Can't wait for the curried parsnip soup, not a great soup lover myself but love parsnips and curry so might be worth a try!
Hope you get a good nights sleep and the soreness wears off soon, look forward to hearing your update tomorrow.

Evening Ladies,
Just a short note to say we didn't get good news today from the embryologist... all 5 eggs did not fertilize We are absolutely devastated to say the least... I cannot stop crying thinking about it. No-one could tell us why.. the 1st embryologist that we spoke to earlier today thinks it could be to do with DH sperm... and the damage from the treatment he had when he had testicular cancer in 1990, but can't be sure. We have to wait for a review now and Mr Atkinson is not available till after christmas.. so waiting for a slot with any consultant at this moment in time, to hopefully get some kind of explaination on zero fertilization. Until then, we just don't know where we go from here... I don't know if this is a common occurence.. but we thought ICSI was a procedure to help with male sperm issues and to assist with making fertilization easier as the sperm just never make the breakthrough to the egg... |

Footsteps,
Hugs to you ... it is so devastating not being able to get to ET.
Yes, ICSI can help with sperm issues (numbers, mobility, and morphology), but if all the sperms are damaged from cancer treatment, then ICSI can not overcome fertilisation issues.
It is difficult to know if the zero fertilisation is due to the eggs or the sperms ... but I am sure that the consultant st your review will give you a better idea. Sometimes, zero fertilisation does happen ... just down to bad luck ... and ladies go onto having successful cycles after their cancelled cycles ... so don't lose hope.
First of all, give yourself and your DH sometime to get over this huge shock and disappointment.
Love and hugs,
Maple

Oh Footsteps, I am so sorry this has happened I was thinking about you today and looking forward to hearing your news tonight, but not this.
Speak to Care and ask them to put you top of the list if anyone especially Mr A has a cancellation to hopefully get some answers soon.
I am sure if anything can be done they will know what your next step will need to be.
If I could give you a big hug I would so sending you a cyber one instead to both of you.
Take care of each other.
Lots of love
