Thanks Sar and Em, yes poor Theo has been squeezed to death nearly, poor mite. It is extremely rubbish, but I think the hormones are dying down a bit now and I'm not crying every 2 minutes!

Hi Ladies,
Becky, Em, Nicky, Melysanda and Wendy - thank you for warm welcome.
Wendy - I am so sorry, my heart goes out to you. XXXXX Lots and lots of hugs.
Becky - LOL - you reminded me of me. I only had 2 injections so far, but already feeling AAARRRGH!!!
We will get through it girl! xxx
Melysanda - I am travelling abroad. I am from that part of the world, so it is easy for me to comunicate and stay with my family. It is a clinic that is very good and widely used also by ladies here in the UK. I have been there for initial appointment, and now it is all arranged by emails. Straing forward really.
As Becky, I have been feeling bit emotional, byt trying to not to let it get to me. What will I be like in few days????
Don't feel like working, but presume have to earn money somehow.
Hope you ladies are having goo day.

Becky – I’m sure it is all the injections that are making you so emotional, as well as the huge journey you are undertaking on your own too!! My OTD is the 23rd March (2 days before my birthday!!).
Em – I’m sure as the 2WW goes on I’ll drive myself crazy; but I’m sure, as people have said to me I’ll probably know before then
I hope everyone is enjoying this lovely sunny day (even if it's still a little chilly)!!
Right must get back to doing some work....
Love & hugs to everyone, especially Wendy.

Hello Ladies!!!
How are you all doing?
Wendy - I am so sorry to read your news. Sending you lots of big hugs.
Sar - how is your arm?? Hope it is not hindering you too much?!!!
Hope the rest of you are ok and if you have already sarted on your journeys that everything is going well for you.
I am still getting all worked up about the whole injection thing and at this moment in time I might not even be doing the IVF in April as the weigh-in at the weekend did not go exactly as I expected!!
I have spoken to the clinic to try and plan my next move and am thinking of trying IUI again but with the injectable drugs instead of Clomid, this way if I manage to get somewhere with my weight before Easter they can just change it from an IUI cycle to an IVF instead - fingers crossed!!!
I am getting myself all worked up about the fact I am going to be 42 before Easter and that my chances of this working are getting slimmer by the minute - unlike my waistline!!!
Right I am off to have my supper - a stick of celery!!!

Hi ladies,
Nannysan - you made me laugh. Stick of celery! I can only sympathise with you, as I am haunted by my weight all the time. I managed to loose bit of weigh and I am at my thinnest I ahve been during treatment. Hope it will make difference. I keep fingers crossed for you that you manage to shift few pounds.
I use injections all the time and once you start, its a doddle. I promiss!
Wendy - how are you? Thinking about you.xxx
AFM - I have a thrush! never had it in my life and I am bit flabbergasted. Did anyone have the same after startying treatment? Hope Canesten will help!
How is everyone doing?

Hi!!
Stella, poor you - thrush is a nightmare!! Hope the Canasten works for you.
Wendy, how are you doing?
Sar, hope the arm is feeling a bit better!!!
Hope everyone else is doing ok?
I am sorry but I still haven't really got the hang of this yet and I need to work out who is who - it is very confusing but then again it doesn't take much to confuse me!!!
Stella, my celery was delicious - not!!! I am going to look like celery soon I eat that much of it!! Tonight it is going to be cockles for supper - delicious!!!
I have to make the dreaded call to the clinic tomorrow and let them know what my plans are as they will need to start looking for a donor very soon ready for April - I have had a chat with them and I think I am going to go down the IUI using Menopur but they have said that if I am successful with my weight then it can just be changed to an IVF cycle as they will just need to increase the Menopur to suit my protocol, so there is a bit more of an incentive to get some more weight off - I now have 6 weeks left to get my act together!!!
I have a question and I wonder if there is anyone out there that may have the answer - I have seen people posting about only having one try left as they only have 1 straw remaining - I was under the impression that you only got enough donor sperm for one cycle, is there a way that you can get more either for multiple cycles or to maybe for siblings later on???? Like I said earlier - it is all very confusing!!!
Right, off for my cockles now!!! |

Hi Sar,
Sorry to hear things are not great and you have been taking alot of time off due to your hand!! And then the adoption days coming up!! Its very hard to not stress!!
I have already started stressing about money. I haven't managed to sell my house yet, so still paying for two and my wages will be dropping next month!! Really need to try not to get into a pickle over it but I am a worrier!!
I am doing OK ... baby bump has been growing rapidly ... midwife says baby is bigger than average, will be around a 8lb 5oz baby at term!!
Just 6 more weeks to go for me!! I am now suffering with swollen feet and lower back pain but plodding along with it!!
I finish work in 2 weeks, so can't wait for that!!
Hope the adoption things are going well, and good luck at the end of the month.
Hope everyone else is well ... lovely to see new ladies on here and read your stories!!
Nicky, hope the two week wait isn't stressing you too much ... I was a wreck by the second week when I had my IUI's!!! Everything crossed for you x x
Take Care All

Hello Ladies
Sar – Sorry to hear you are having a stressful time, I hope your hand is healing well – these things are sent to test us aren’t they. You sound like a strong person so I’m sure you will get through the next few weeks. Good luck too for the adoption training, it’s another positive step in the right direction.
Sarah – WOW due in 6 weeks, doesn’t time fly!!! I hope your swollen feet and backache aren’t giving you too many problems. Rest up and take it easy.
Wendy – how are you? I hope Theo is giving you lots of love and hugs.
Becky – how you doing? It’s not long now until your EC if I remember rightly?
I hope everyone else is okay, its been a little quiet on here
Well this 2ww is now getting to me lol The first week I was pretty bloated, I looked pregnant!! I had a lot of cramping; well what I can only describe as a pinching or stretching feeling near my right ovary, it was pretty weird really! Sometimes it was so sharp I felt like I had to grab my stomach. I started to Google which was the worst thing I could have done and spent most of the week looking at early pregnancy symptoms, which was silly as I know it was too early – I’ve now banned myself
This second week hasn’t been too bad, I’ve still had some cramping, I’ve been pretty tired and in bed by 9.30 most nights!! (I put it down to the emotional stress lol although work is busy at the mo’ too) and speaking of emotional – I’ve been teary a few times just thinking about silly things! Not sure I’ll make it to OTD without POAS!!! If I hadn’t ovulated later than ‘normal’ I would be due on tomorrow, but with ovulating late I think AF is due Tuesday/Wednesday. I am tempted to test tomorrow but I’m not sure if it’s too early. Monday will be 14 days since I had IUI and OTD is 23rd, which is nearly a 3ww!!!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone.
Happy Mothers day tomorrow for all the mummy’s and mummy’s to be amongst us.
Take care everyone
Nicky

Hi
I hope it's ok that I just jump in and say hi. I'm about to start short protocol ICSI with immunes and should start stimming next weekend. I've just had to draw up a colour coded spreadsheet in order to keep on top of all the meds I'm on for this cycle!
I look forward to chatting with you all

Hi Lily
Welcome to our thread. Is this your first time doing ICSI? I am sure you will get chance to read all about us on here and feel free to join in with anything its lovely to have another lady on board.
Becky - Oh I am so excited for you it wont be long now possibly the begining of the week for Ec how you doing on follies?
Nicky - How you doing you must be nearly there now I am so hoping that you get a BFP. Have you been tempted yet to test your only 3 days away?
Sarah I can not believe where that time has gone you know. That is a great size for a baby 8lb 5. Money is a great worrier isnt it but I have decided to be an emu and just stick my head in the sand and hope for a miracle!!! No point in stressing what wil be will be so I am just plodding along day by day. Properties are moving so slowly arent they. The chap across the road has had his up for ages and its a lovely house but nothing!
Wendy - How are you love? Sending a huge Hug.
Tracy are you still out there I bet Toya Lily is keeping you sooooo busy. I must try to sort out some time to contact you. I am sorry for being so rubbish.
Nanny - Hows the diet going?
Stella - did you sort out your little problem?
Ona - not heard from you in a while hows things?
Em - How are you is Lola ok growning up fast. Has she started to walk yet?
AFM I am still in a stress broke the news at work today to 2 of my heads of department that I wont be in for 3 days next week. I have so much on oer the next 2 weeks I dont know how I am going to fit it all in but tough after how they have treate me they can swivel I will do as much as I can and not worry about the rest they get paid 4 times more than I do i shouldnt have any stress. Thankfully neither of them asked why I would be off! If they do I think i might say i am having a sex change and see what they say about that! .I am running round like a fool trying to sort out our senior drama costumes its a mare honest. The best bit is escaping school and having a cheeky hot choc and yummy cake with Head of dept when we go to collect the costumes as I cant drive as my hand is still strapped up someone has to take me LOL!!!!!
Well have a good evening ladies. Welcome again Lily and take care all. I am sorry if I have missed anyone out of my hellos up above xxxx |

Hi Everyone
Hello and welcome to Lily I hope your spreadsheet helps you keep on top of your meds, that sounds like something I would do too lol
Becky – not long now, as Sar says maybe next week for your EC – keep us updated and good luck too.
Sar – I nearly laughed myself off the sofa at your sex change comment, as you say leave them to it when you are gone, it sounds like you do more that you should anyway. They’ll no doubt realize when you are gone for a few days!! Good luck with the training, I’m sure you will breeze through it and then it will be onto the next stage.
Stella – how’s your injections going, not long until your ET if I remember rightly. Good luck and have a safe trip.
Dee – I hope your Pilonidal has started to heal and is healing well, fingers crossed the op has done the trick this time and you can concentrate on your treatment.
Nikki – How’s things with you, I hope you are okay?
Sorry I know I’ve missed some of you lovely ladies off the personals and I hope you are all doing great, but I cant keep this in any longer…………………
I tested Sunday morning and got a BFP
It’s been an emotional few days but its now starting to sink in, even though it seems so surreal – I know its very early days and I’m trying to stay grounded and not get too excited but its not easy! Mum & Dad were over the moon, my mum told me afterward she had a dream last week that this would happen and I would wrap the test up and put it in the gift bag with her mother’s day gifts. The only reason I didn’t put it in there was I knew dad wouldn’t be home as he had gone to watch my nephew play football. I had to wait until after lunch, which was killing me not blurting it out lol, I went and got the little gift wrapped box from the car and told them I’d got them a little joint present which I thought they would like Seeing their faces was brilliant and its fantastic that they have been so supportive.
Love to you all
Nicky

Sar, you made me laugh too with the sex change bit!! It is none of there business why you will be off!! Hope it all goes well for you!!
I'm doing OK, a little fed up with the swollen feet, as can't get any nice shoes on!!!! But can't grumble, I've had an easy time of it really!
I have a viewing on my house on Friday, so keeping everything crossed for that!!

Nicky, I am sooooo pleased for you!!!!! I had a little lump in my throat when I read your post - how amazing!!!
Sar, you did make me laugh outloud with your reason for needing time off - I just had visions of the shocked expressions on their faces when you gave them the reason!!! (my mind does run away with me at times!!!)
Wendy, I have been thinking about you - hope you are ok??!!!!
Stella, how are things going with you???
Hope the rest of the ladies are doing well????
As for me, well, at last weigh in I had lost another 4lbs but I am not getting weighed again till I get home next Friday as I am convinced the scales in Boots are not accurate - my reasoning behind this...........when I got weighed last week not only had I lost 4lbs but I had lost 1/2 inch in height too!!!
I have spoken to the donor co-ordinator and I now have a donor in place. She has told me that I am able to change my treatment from IUI to IVF if, when I weigh myself I have miraculously managed to lose the weight, I can also put it on hold till next month if that is what I prefer to do. Fingers crossed I have somehow managed to get the weight off - I have a sneaky suspicion that I will be hanging on till May though.
All that may change again though as over the weekend I had to make a trip to A & E - turns out I might have gall bladder problems, am just waiting for the scan on Friday to see exactly what is going on there but I suspect that if it is my gall bladder then I might have to put the IVF on hold for a couple of months until I get it all sorted out - will wait and see what the doctor says first though - it might not be as bad as my runaway imagination is making it!!!
Right, I am off to watch the Scott and Bailey that I fell asleep whilst watching on Monday night - I was soooo cross with myself, thank goodness for ITV Player!!!!!
Sam.

Hi Everyone,
I hope you’ve all had a brilliant weekend in this lovely sunny weather?
Becky – Have you had another scan since Wednesday, I’m sure your follies will be just fine and ready for EC. They grow about 1-2mm a day I think. I tried to keep a mental note of the number and size of follicles too, but I lost track too!!! I hope you have managed to get some rest too and aren’t as tired as you was?
Sam – that’s great news you have a donor in place, fingers crossed you get to go with treatment next month. I hope your scan on Friday went well and its good news that won’t delay your exciting fertility journey.
Sar – I hope you’re all stress free now after last week at work…..Good luck for your adoption training tomorrow, I’m sure you will breeze through ☺
Sarah – I’ve already had lots of tears (the good happy kind lol) so no doubt when I see this little bean on the screen there’ll be more!! I hope you’re doing well and your viewing on Friday went ok?
Thanks for the congratulations, it still doesn’t seem real but about 3pm every day when I need a siesta I get a reminder that it really is real lol My first scan is Friday 13th …… I did say to the nurse that it’s a good job I’m not superstitious!! I also want to get back in the gym & go swimming but the nurse said to wait a little longer, its driving me mad not going but I know I’ve got to do as I’m told I think I may start going for a walk after work now the light nights are here.
Hi to everyone else….. I Hope you’re all doing well?
Have a great week ladies
Nicky

Hi everyone
I hope everyone is ok.
Wendy sending you a big hug love. In fact I am sending you lovely ladies each a big hug because we all deserve one.
I have had a week and a half this week I can tell you what with parents visiting and nephews 18th Birthday the adoption training a school drama. Phew I am shattered.
Today is a year since I lost my little one and I woke up this morning with all this adoption stuff in my head then all of a sudden like a big bolder it hit me smack in the face and I felt so sad. I had taken my mum at the weekend to the crem so i could put a rose on the floor where they had put the ashes. Its the first time mum has been and it was nice that she didnt say she would stay in the car. I have been training today on this course so have had to put it all out of my mind but I am going to light my little candle I got from the rememberence service later and I have a beautiful bunch of apricot roses on the fire place in rememberance of my little one and how much I loved her even though we had only just been together for a short time.
As for the training well thats one on its own I had to have a lie down for 1.1/2 hours when I got home Monday I was totally brain dead. I had used so much energy concentrating. It was like being on big brother I felt like every movement I made was being watched. There are 19 on the course and they are all like me i am the only single one so I am finding that hard as i have to keep going up to people to talk to them instead of having a partner to talk to.
Just got tomorrow to get through and then another day the end of May and then lots of home visits so mabe this time next year if all goes well I might have a little one to look after.
I have also had the school drama production this week too which has made this week so busy. Honest i dont know how I have fit everything in what with this course my normal work then the drama and the homework its just so busy so i will say bye for a bit. Hopefully will pop on next week when things are a liitle calmer roll on the easter hols is what I say.
Take care everyone xxxx |

Hi everyone
Not been on for ages, but thought I would quickly say hello.
Fab news Nicky!!!! take it easy and look after yourself.
Big hugs Sar. I can't believe its been a year already. It really shows how long the IVF journey takes with all the planning and appointments. Hope you are ok and the adoption stuff is giving you a positive focus and direction. xx
Hi to everyone else.
AFM - things are going well. I'm 24 weeks tomorrow and I'm having a boy. The house is upside down at the moment as I am having the lounge and back bedroom (it still makes me feel superstitious to call it the baby's room!) decorated. The pregnancy has been hard emotionally, but the baby himself is doing fine and my cervix is behaving itself!!! I'm already on countdown to finishing work!!! Although I am hoping to work until 38 weeks so that I can have as much time as poss off afterwards (I can't afford a long mat leave).
Good luck to everyone, wherever they are up to with their journeys.
Jo

Hi ladies, Nicky...what wonderful news congratulations
I did exactly the same with my Mum, I put the test in a little gift bag! I tested a few days early so she had no idea what was in the bag!!
Welcome Lily, best of luck to you.
Sar, yes, Lola is growing up fast. Shes not walking yet but is standing on her own so I don't think it will be too long. Everyday she masters something new, her latest craze is going up the stairs!
Congrats on 24 weeks Jo, a little boy, how exciting!
Wendy, you have been in my thoughts, I hope you are doing ok.
Love to everyone else, sorry not to mention everyone in person, gonna jump in the bath for a soak
