Hiya all! To be honest Noggin, money was a issue but also and mainly,I had convinced myself the first cycle would work and when it didnt was gutted! Hit me much worse than I thought it would and it toook me quite a while to feel up for doing it again. Also I had lost weight to try the first time and then after it didnt work put it all back on and more so when I had got my head around starting again I had that too deal with too! But here I am.x

Welcome to the thread jellyfish!

Your little girl is sooooo cute!

The nurses' dance and prayers worked - AF is here on deadline day! Had injection revision this afternoon then start Menopur tomorrow, Cetrotide on Monday and day 8 scan on Wednesday.

How's everyone else doing?

Mixedspice, Hooray, just in the nick of time. It's weird, every other month we're hoping that AF doesn't turn up but then when awaiting treatment we're willing her to arrive! Great news though, you'll soon be under way, good luck!

Jellyfish and jaybee, welcome! More Northampton buddies! I often wonder when I'm in the waiting room if I'm sat near someone who I've chatted to on here!

SAW, will definitely look out for the Gluhwein - lovely! Well done on the first injections, sure it'll get easier after the first few. I don't remember how long it takes to DR but thought that you might start stimms before Christmas?

Noggin, Cant wait to take L to the Christmas display, it's so magical. We didn't make it to the 'beach' this year but did do some impressive sand castle building on the Pembrokeshire beaches earlier in the year!

I had my pre-treatment scan the other day and all went fine so just waiting for my protocol and then it's all systems go on 13th. They couldn't fit me in for an injection teach until the 13th!! At least it'll be fresh in my mind for the first one! I thought that CARE wouldn't be as busy over the Christmas period as didn't think that many people would fancy going through treatment at this time of year but it seems they do!

Take care all,

Siobon x

Hi Siobon - I thought the same as you and thought I would be the only one crazy enough to want to be cycling over Christmas! Good to hearv that your pre-treatment scan was fine. I had my injection teach today and I feel a bit scared about the first one tomorrow!

wantababy - aah thanks hon. How are you doing? When is your due date? So kind of you to think of me!

Hi to everyone else

Evening all!

Mixedspice hurrah for AF and starting this cycle!

Siobon I did ask whether Northampton were busier than when we first started and I'm sure they said they have an extra 200 treatments a year! Not long until the 13th. If you see someone come in and go straight for the bourbon biscuits in the waiting room that will be me!

Jaybee I can totally relate to money issues. We're also self funded but fortunately I paid too much tax on account the year before so that will be going towards our next go and nasty January tax bill! I probably wasn't ready to do our FET back in July but I was worried about my age and if it had worked it would have been a May baby. Joshua was June and it was great having light evenings and warmer weather to go for walks. That sounds terrible planning treatment around when we want a baby to be born! You've got to be in the right frame of mind for this malarkey and it's great your ready to go again Smile

Jellyfish Hi again! That's fab about egg sharing did you share last time? I asked but was too old (just 36 at our initial consultation)

Saw Hope you're ok? I'm watching I'm a celebrity thought it was so funny watching Fatima and Crissy light up over Peter Andre!

Well I'm off tomorrow (and friday afternoons) so hoping Joshua doesn't wake too early...

Night,

Love Noggin xx

They have bourbon biscuits in the waiting room at Northampton? Amazing! I'm going to suggest they do the same at Manchester!

Hiya Girls,

Currently drinking a glass of red (purposefully didn't buy any white wine but still opened a bottle of red!)

Saw have a lovely time with your parents and hope you get your homework done! Took me ages to work out what lmao meant!!

Mixedspice we get packet of 3 biscuits in the waiting room but the bourbons are the popular choice! How did your first injection go?

Jellyfish, Jaybee and Siobon nearly the weekend Smile

Was wondering who was doing acupuncture, whey protein shakes or anything else this time?

Love Noggin xx

Mixedspice thanks - our daughter is nearly walking now that photo was taken about 4 months ago.

Noggin this is our 3rd ES cycle (1 at Notts and this is our 2nd at Northampton) but mid next year I will be too old to do anymore ES so hoping this is our last go!

During all my cycles I have done Acupuncture and pregnacare. Also drinking full fat milk while stimming.

Saw - im hoping we are a lucky thread too.

xx

Hi everyone

Noggin - I was a big wimp with the first injection! Last cycle I had an auto injector from the NHS which made it much easier. It doesn't work now so it took me ages to inject all the medication! I may contact my old NHS clinic to see if I can buy a replacement. It's so much easier!

SAW - hope you have a lovely time with your parents. I bet you have lovely Christmhttp://www.carefertility.com/ivf/templates/Hestia/images/lang_english/btn_bold.gifas markets over there!

jellyfish - DS is also nearly walking. I'm constantly terrified he's gong to injure himself!

wantababy - aah 20 weeks is probably the best stage. Morning sickness over but aches and pains haven't kicked in yet! Plus you get to have a more detailed look at the baby on your next scan. Are you going to find out the flavour?!

Noggin - forgot to say that I'm doing acupuncture and also having DH's protein shakes too. I was a bit worried as they give him awful wind - just like bad eggs unsuprisingly! Very Happy

How was your wine?

Hiya Girls,

Mixedspice the red was great however the white I bought yesterday was gopping!!! (serves me right for relenting!) I'm going to take whey protein sakes again whilst stimming (as many as i can stomach) and up protein and eggs and switch to full fat milk.

Jellyfish one minute your daughter will be walking and then she'll be running everywhere! Joshua took his first proper steps the day before his birthday in front of all my relatives which was perfect timing!

Jaybee think you're having a scan this week? How did your review go?

Siobon are you on the same protocol as last time? Not long until the 13th Smile

SAW hope DS had fun with his grandparents and you had fun? Do you get any side effects from DR?

We went to our next door neighbours 50th birthday party last night (fancy dress theme midlife crisis and I wasn't very inspired). Thought I looked a right tart in a tight black negligee/dress fishnets, red lippy but I got to wear my new black boots yay!
AF is due tomorrow so not sure if I'll be able to do the scan on friday or the following week...

Love to all, Noggin xx

Hi Girls,

AF came today a whole day late so scan is booked next monday on my birthday. What a start to the day being all rummaged...

Jaybee was your review and scan today? How did you get on?

Joshua had his photo taken at nursery last week I had no idea and he was wearing a T shirt with "my dad is a sillyasaurus" It was also the day before he had a hair cut so he looks like a girl! Think we might have to get one just to embarrass him in the future...

How are we all doing?

Love Noggin xx

Happy Christmas all, and best of luck for 2012 to us all! How exciting that it's all starting for a few of you now. I'm so jealous that I'm waiting till after Xmas!

Jaybee, I'm sure you'll be fine having a glass of wine at your party. You won't even be down regging by then and as long as you're not gonna get trolleyed, it might do you good to have a relaxed night out before you kick off in Jan.

I'm also interested in knowing what we should be eating/drinking. I did pineaplle juice, organic full fat milk, loads of fresh fruit/veg and kept my tummy warm for my fresh ICSI, but can't remember what was for eggs and what was for lining. Obviously with FET I only need to work on the lining this time. Any ideas?

Hi Melski - how are you? I was also wondering about what to eat. I'm having lots of protein - no mean feat when you hate meat! It's in the form of eggs, milk, pulses, Quorn and protein shakes. I've been having salads and fruits salad with pineapple in them. I remember something about Brazil nuts for the 2ww but I've forgotten hat else!

Jaybee - not long now! I think you're fine to have a drink. Alcohol makes me feel awful so I prefer a nice cup of tea! Having said that I've bought some decaf to start drinking in 2ww!

SAW - glad to hear that you had a nice time with your family. Is it nice to be back in the UK? I'm impressed with your injection technique! I've found that injecting Menopur into my thigh really hurt although inserting the needle doesn't. Then injecting Cetrotide in to my tummy doesn't hurt but inserting the needle is really painful!

Noggin - that is a memorable start to your birthday! I can't decide if it's good or bad! I love that Josh had a t shirt on that said "my dad is a sillyasaurus"! I may try the same thing and claim that I forgot it was photo day!

AFM I had my day 8 scan yesterday and I have another tomorrow. I have 4 follies which is a similar number to last time. They don't call it a short protocol for nothing! I'm sure that last time the whole thing from the first injection to the pregnancy test was about 2 months. Depending on the scan tomorrow I may EC on Monday - eeek! I might ask if I can have it on Tuesday so I can fit in some acupuncture the day before!

Hiya all, hope we are all well this cold rainy day!
Wow mixed spice you so close now!! Hope it all goes great!
I dont know what works for the lining melski, hopefully someone can tell us both!!
Saw, I remember from last time injecting the buserlin hurts loads the first one and then was fine with practice! Hopefully the same this time.
Good luck with the scan Noggin.x
Well think I may drive to the party then I cant drink lol!! Dont have to explain to anyone then!

Hiya Girls,

Mixedspice wow day 8 already! I feel like I've nearly missed your cycle!! Did you have 2 put back in last time?

Jaybee I'm planning to cut back on alcohol (I've drunk all the wine in the house and didn't buy anymore today!) I reckon I'll be downregging on boxing day so not going to deprive myself Christmas day! I would definitely drink at your Christmas do and enjoy yourself! Also TTC is trying to conceive Smile

Saw where are you having your treatment is it the same place as your other treatment cycles? That's very impressive with the lack of bruises! I'm feeling good much more positive than last time. I'm thinking there's got to be one good one in our next cycle....

Siobon have you been to the display yet at MK? What did Lucy think of it?

Jellyfish don't encourage the walking!! Are you organised for christmas?

Melski Hi again! I've got an appointment with Stephen but he's so booked up the earliest I could get was 11th jan! Think I'll be about to stimm then but I'll be interested to see if I've got a damp uterus!

For those doing FET I'm sure the progynra(?) oestrogen tablets thicken up the lining for you but thinking pineapple and brazil nuts are supposed to help with lining.

Curry's ready yumm!

Love Noggin xx

Evening ladies,

Crikey Mixedspice, you are moving fast, how exciting! If they do ET on Mon, could your accupuncturist not see you on-route?

Jaybee, my Buserelin jabs were fine, but the Menopurs were painful. With FET I'll skip the Menopur, but from what I can gather the Clexane might be worse! Driving to the works do would be a good excuse. You can have one and then laugh at everyone else's behaviour around you!

Hi again Noggin, I'll be doing the pineapple, dairy and brazil nuts again I reckon. Mmm I love curry! x

Hi All,
Yah I received my protocol through the post today.Exciting stuff!!!

Everyone seems to be moving so fast. You will all have your BFP's and i'll just be starting.Melski we'll be in the same position.

I was asked whether I wanted to cycle over christmas but we were adamant that we wanted to start after DD's first birthday.

Saw & Noggin DD is standing up very confidentially but hasn't taken her first steps yet. Before January I would really like to get DD sleeping through the night as well, any tips?

Lots of wrapping pressies tomorrow with a little helper and getting organised for christmas.
xx
