Hi Girls,

Mixedspice hope your scan went well today?

Jellyfish not sure I'm the best person for giving sleeping tips as Joshua has never slept before 8pm but we're finally getting 8 to 7am. Mind you it took 15months! I know we stopped the dream feed at 11pm when he was 5 months but he'd still wake up at 4am for a party!
We used to live in a flat and I was worried his crying would disturb neighbours so I used to sprint to him at the first sign of a cry as it was quicker to pick him up on a shoulder, a quick shush, shush patting his back then putting him back down and back to bed then waiting to see if he'd settle (he never did!)
What exactly did you mean by sleeping through? Are you still giving milk feeds?

Got to go DH is flapping food's ready!!

Love Noggin xx

Noggin,
DD is 11 months and still having milk feeds, goes to bed at 7pm wakes. Between 1am and 2am and then not every night but sometimes can wake up at 5am and then finally between 6 and 7am gets up. I'm trying to give her water instead of milk in the night but then DD wakes up more.
I've been told that maybe DD is a hungry baby! DD has 3 meals a day and has rice cakes and fruit as snacks. I think we were spoilt when DD was younger as she slept all the way through.
Any advice welcome

Back again!

Jellyfish you must be knackered! Joshua could never be fobbed off with water instead of milk. Used to throw the bottle away in disgust!
I think you should post on bumps, babies and beyond for suggestions (and probably end up with 15 alternatives!!)
For most people sleeping gets better once they're on solids and crawling but you've gone backwards!
Just a thought is your DD getting cold (kicking off covers) at 5am or is there light coming through? Does she have a dummy? We ended up scattering 2 or 3 around his cot bed so if he did wake he'd grab one then settle again!
Also if they learn something new I think that can effect sleep as it's all exciting!
If I was in your position I'd almost be tempted to do a dream feed at 11pm or 10.30 (much more civilised than 1am and you can bring it forward then drop it) and try to get her going through until 6/7am. How much milk does she take at 1am/5am?
Also does she have 1 or 2 daytime naps? I personally think sleep during the day is good!
It will get better but rubbish sleep is awful...
Good luck!!

Love Noggin xx

Jellyfish - I am no-one to give sleep advice..... William is 4 & still wakes between 1 - 2am & gets in bed with us, he has only slept right through 13 times in his life & as I not used to it I really dreaded going in his room when he did.... I moved to a new house when he was nearly 2 and made an appt with the health visitor, she suggested the let him cry & go up every 5 mins technique, at 2115hrs after 20 mins of it my new neighbour knocked on the door lookin wrecked like it was 2 in the morning sayin it was awful that i was letting him cry & it can't be good for him & that he was keeping her awake!!!! I had to stop my DH coming to the door and telling her to do 1! He is good now about going to bed, has a story goes straight to sleep, my DH is away for 6 months & when I speak to him he always asks if William stayed in his own bed Confused Problem is if he gets in with me in the middle of the night I get sleep, if I keep putting him in his own bed he kicks off all night & I get none.... & when you work 10hrs a day you need your sleep Sad good luck though hun, excellent news with the protocol, it's al real now! xxx

Jaybee
- brilliant news on your review & scan Very Happy only 8 days to go now! I just drant lots of water while stimming, didn't eat anything special & ended up with 11 eggs with my first cycle & 14 on my altruistic donation, so will be doing the same i think xxx

Melski
- Do you want to officially join us, I'll add you to the frontpage? it is Christmas wishes & New year hopes after all... Wink xxx

Mixedspice
- Woop woop you're nearly there! Great news hun Very Happy I don't go to the UK until next sat but can't wait for the shopping, it seems that the deal the Germans made was that to have a beautiful, clean, low crime country they had to give up fashion so their taste remains for 80s fashion.... xxx

Noggin
- Yes i'm at the same place, I love them there Very Happy I'm a strong believer in the power of PMA Very Happy erm wet Uterus?!?!?!?! lol xxx

AFM - All is good & my mood seems to be better Very Happy although I am sick of watching Mickey's Once upon a Christmas...... I've done my cleaning Very Happy but have to go food shopping later Mad that is usually DH's job but as he's away I have to do it. X Factor final tonight so having a few of the girls round for that Very Happy

Hope everyone is good!

Jaybee - Array CGH is something that they can do at CARE Manchester & Nottingham whereby they test the chromosomes in the polar bodies of the eggs - so in principle you would put back a "normal" egg which in theory would reduce the possibility of miscarriage and chromosome abnormalities which are far more common in older mums to be.

I have just turned 45, so anything that helps I say.

Jellyfish - thank you for your wishes, your little one is gorgeous.

Walk was lovely, its bright and sunny here, cold but perfect autumn weather.

Welcome Denny! I'm 40 next year so feel like I'm an older bird! Is this your first cycle?
My friend had CGH array after 6 failed cycles and now has twin boys! I'm also at Northampton so it's not an option for us.

SAW Melski mentioned on another thread her acupuncturist told her she had a damp uterus! Apparently we want one with a good blood supply and to be nice and warm!! I'm seeing the same guy but not until January (popular guy) so I'll be interested to see what he says! You work long days....

Jellyfish looking back on it sleep improved once they're running around Smile Just get as much sleep as you can!

Jaybee, Melski, Siobon and mixedspice hope you're having fun weekends?

I managed a whole 2 days of no alcohol and got a stonking headache for my efforts!!

Love Noggin xx

Hi guys, happy for you to add me to the front page. Not managing to keep up with where everyone is though, so will have a look on the front page hoping it tells me! The signatures help though. I started posting cos I was interested in the talk of accupuncture, but I'm already chatting to Jaybee on another thread.

Found out this weekend that a girl I went to school with had been having IVF and is now expecting twins. There is hope! xxx

Hi Josielil welcome to our festive group!
Are you having treatment at Northampton? I might bump into you in the waiting room! You're bound to have lots of questions so ask away, just take it one step at a time Smile

Mixedspice have you had EC/ET? Hope it's all progressing smoothly...

Jellyfish had a rubbish weekend with Joshua and sleeping! He's teething so gone off food doing the day but wants a bottle at night! Fortunately last night he slept 8.30 to 7.15am which was a pleasant birthday surprise! Meant to say not sure if you're all geared up for Christmas but Joshua loved the leapfrog move and groove music table (quite often half price at Argos)

Melski have you got all your immune results back?

Denny what sort of dog have you got? Not long until you start DR

Saw I love all your graphics! Were you rooting for Little Mix?

Siobon Think you've got your scan tomorrow? Hope you're ok?

Jaybee not long until the 18th! Are you getting excited?

AFM Scan went well 7 follicles each side pretty much what it was 2 and a half years ago. Looks like I'll be staying on the menopor (cheaper than gonal F bonus!) Had a trainee girl start my scan she said I was a good subject as my uterus was difficult to find! It wasn't, she was just too gentle and needed to rummage up higher!!

Better do some dinner!

Love Noggin xx

AAAAAhhh - just spent ages writing a long post with personals and the connection reset and I lost it all!!

Sorry that this will be brief.

A quick hello, welcome and good luck to Josielil and Denny.

I have EC tomorrow - can't believe it! CARE agreed to wait a day as DH couldn't get today off work plus I wanted to keep my acupuncture appointment. On a slightly more frivolous note I would have to miss my hair appointment on Thursday if I end up having a 3 day transfer and I won't be able to get another appointment till the new year!

I hate being the first to attempt something in a group! Last time I was one of the last of my cycle buddy group to have EC and ET.

Bless you for keeping an eye on me. Thank you for the good luck message. How are you hon? Did your review have positive news? I really hope that you will try again. You'll be such a good mummy. You have certainly looked after me on these boards! Sending much love to you and your DH. Please stay in touch.

Hi all,

Just a quick one from me. I've been so busy that I've not had chance to post so no personals this evening, will have to catch up with where everyone's at when I have more time.

I went to Brussels and Brugges for the weekend with some girl friends which was brilliant fun but totally exhausting. The highlight was definitely ice skating and the gluhwein!

My pre treatment scan went really well and I started buserelin injections this evening! I was quite nervous as it's been so long since I cycled but it all went fine. DR scan should be between christmas and new year!

Hope everyone else is doing well, I notice there are a few more of us now which is great, I just need to catch up!

Siobon x

Morning everyone

Noggin - thanks for thinking of me. I feel that positive vibes from cycle buddies definitely helps! I hope Joshua is feeling better and that you've both had some sleep. DS had a virus last week which he gave to me so i know about sleep deprivation this week!

SAW - loving the sparkly, moving graphics that you've been adding toyour posts -you're far more clever than me! I am so jealous that you had an X Factor party - that sounds amazing!

Jaybee - thanks for your message. How are you?

Siobon - Brussels and Brugges sounds fab. I would love a holiday. Did you get some Christmas shopping done?

Melski - remember PMA (positive mental attitude) and eyes on the prize. You can do it!

EC was ok. Traffic was horrible in to Manchester - I was terrified we'd be late as I was first on the list. Got 6 eggs so I was a bit disappointed as I got 7 last time and I'd been on a lower dose of Menopur. We used DH's frozen sample to avoid him getting stressed out about doing a fresh one as he had to get back to work. Plus we figured it was good stuff as it produced DS! Felt a bit sore and groggy afterwards and slept for 4 hours when I got home. The sandwich and soup they give you afterwards ranks up there with the tea and toast you have after giving birth - yum! Just waiting on the embryologists now - scary! I want to go to blast for the usual reasons but also my favourite consultant (who did EC) won't be here on Friday for a 3 day transfer so I want ET on Monday!

Hi to everyone else.

Morning all

Just a quickie as off to the hospital soon with doggie - will explain later.

Thank you all for your warm welcome, will do personals later.

Mixedspice, glad to hear all went well, I was thinking about you yesterday and hoping for a good result Very Happy You got six that's great, you only need one or two or three if you feeling brave!!!!

Who is your Consultant?

I had heard that the sandwich and soup was pretty good there, hopefully get to sample it myself in the New Year.

We were at Manchester on Monday to update blood tests and then it seemed like a good time to go into town and sample the delights of the Christmas Market - it was lovely and the food scrummy.

Right be back later.

x
