Hi all
We conceived our dd via icsi and due to low funds cannot afford to go through treatment again. So we are looking into egg donation/sharing, also as it will give another couple the chance of having a child. I am just wondering what the costs are for the above using icsi. Is there also a difference in donating and sharing your eggs???
TIA for all responses |

Hi i'm currently egg sharing/donating (same thing)
I paid £315 for initial screening blood tests its a one off payment to check if your eligible for egg sharing, then i paid £1650 for the drugs, ICSI and HEFA charge, so in total i've paid £1965.

Hi,
The phrases 'egg share' and 'egg donation' are usually used to describe different things.
'Egg share' is where you give half your eggs to another lady and receive reduced cost treatment in return (as per the costs Maria outlined above). However it is still a form of egg donation as you have dontated half your eggs to another lady - you are the donor and she is the recipient. If you decide to donate to obtain a reduced cost treatment you will therefore be part of an egg share programme.
The phrase 'egg donation' is normally used to describe altruistic donation. This happens when a lady isn't having IVF herself and goes through treatment purely to give eggs to another lady (or two). HFEA guidlines state that in this case you are entitled to reasonable compensation to cover losses incurred up to £750 per donation, with an excess provision for expenses (such as travel, accomodation and childcare etc), but people are not 'paid' to donate eggs in the UK.
I egg shared and my DH and I are now expecting our first baby due in 5 weeks! There is loads more information about egg sharing on the HFEA website
http://www.hfea.gov.uk/1411.html
and on Cares own website.

Hope this helps xx |
