Hi Lingey,
I should start my 2nd attempt at IVF late April. My first cycle was cancelled because I did not respond to the medication as hoped & the follies did not grow big enough. It soulds like we had a similar experience last time.
I am now looking forward to starting again, not long now

Hi Care Bear and a big welcome!
At last April has arrived!!!! it won't be long now the time in between my cancelled cycle and this one has dragged and I'm not the most patient person in the world either lol but at least I can see the start!!! It does sound like you had a similar experience to me on my pretreatment scan I had 25 follies so they were cautious and put me on a low dose hence only had three that were growing and they weren't growing big enough!!! I was gutted! Apparently it happens alot so we arent on our own! I have had to wait for a full month with no meds then I'm jumping straight back on to it! Age is not on my side lol which care you at I'm at nottingham?
I start DR on Wednesday wo wo although DH is thinking wo wo the northisterone made me crave chocolate have hot sweats and massive mood swings my colleague at work has taken the week off lol DH has named them the psycho tablets lol but it's a means to an end i suppose, then my AF was five days late last time so I probably won't be that much further in front of you!
Was beginning to feel a bit like billy no mates lol so I'm very excited I have a cycle buddy now! Yay

Hi

Just awaiting aunt flo but its very behind so I have a scan booked for Tuesday to see where I might be but Im hoping it arrives before hand so I can re arrange the pre treatment scan so we can book in for drugs teach and hopefully get started very soon.
Wishing everyone lots of luck and PMA. |

Morning Ladies
Completely its not my first go, started back in feb but only got as far as day 10 on stimms and then had the cycle cancelled due to low follies and them growing enough! So Im still a bit of a newbie really although after that last cycle I'm not sure i can do it over and over again, I have so much admiration for those ladies that do, they are so resiliaint or should i say focused, i'm not sure how many attempts we will have yet, but hopefully we won't need to after this one!
I have my new protocol, I have had it a while its been in the drawer not like my first protocol that I read a million times a day LOL I have to order more drugs, although still have some left from last time, i'm phoneing care this morning to arrange delivery. the first time I recieved my meds I opened the box and just thought OMG it's happening, I must say the excitiement wore off very quickly, they say you haven't really tried for a baby unless you have done IVF and it's so true!
I start my DR norethisterone tablets on wednesday (day 1 I have to phone care in the am to see how long to take them for ususally ten days DH is hoping its not any longer as they made me a bit hormonal lol My AF was really late last time (5 days) so I will jsut to have to wait and see, i am just so relieved to be starting again although not looking forward to the stabbing!!!! It sounds like we will be fairly close then for the exciting stuff I hope I get that far this time!!! the next two weeks will fly by for you and enjoy the relaxing, that sounds like a great idea, I am too busy at the mo and need to keep my time occupied or I will sit and think far too much LOL
Have a great day ladies, better go and do some work now, or I may make a quick coffee before I start LOL

Hi Lingley
Our experiences were very similar, I think I had 36 follies at my pretreatment scan so also at high risk of OHSS. I was given a low dose and then the eggs stopped growing. I have now moved onto a short protocol so I need to wait for 2 AF before I start, but the drugs from my last treatment have made them approx 48 days apart so it is starting to feel that I have been waiting for years for this to happen. I am being treated in Northampton. I am starting to become excited and am pleased that I am now on the short protocol. Just keeping my fingers crossed now xxx
Hi Soontobmummy
Welcome I hope you get started soon. Which care are you with?
Hi completely new to ivf,
Being busy at work may help time to fly by
When my meds arrived I was strangely excited - now for someone who hates injections that is odd But injection training was the day when everything became truly real for me - I remember thinking to myself, it is really about to happen I am starting my medication on my next AF but have very little idea when that will be - I will just have to be patient and wait to see.
Are you on a long or short cycle?
Take care everyone Carebear |

Evening ladies,
Care bear I know how you feel it has felt like an eternity for me too to get going too! But we are nearly there now how exciting!!! Fingers crossed your AF arrives soon and then is it all systems go? Hope so!!! All this waiting is just not fair!!! I'm on the same short protocol as last time so will be on psycho tablets for ten days ish then withdrawal AF and then Stims on day two of that cycle I'm feeling more excited now spoke to care this morning to order the drugs! I will phone in on Wednesday to let them know I'm starting DR and then they will decide how long I need to take the tablets for fingers crossed they aren't busy and say ten days!!! We will see!
Welcome Rebbecabiker you are starting on the same day as me how exciting! Which care you at? R u on short or long protocol? Good luck with your teach tomorrow that's when it really hits you that's it's starting! The nurse usually goes through your protocol with you and then how to drawer up drugs and how to inject dont worry they give you an info sheet so you won't forget it all! Good luck Are you stabbing (sorry injecting) on DR or tablets sorry for all the questions but that how we get to know each other! Fingers crossed it works for you! My DH has rubbish sperm due to having undescended testes as a child he's still super sensitive about it which is hard sometimes! Your DH has been through a lot with a reversal and it must be gutting that it hasn't worked! But this is the start of your exciting adventure fingers crossed for a BFP at the end of the roller coaster
Right better go and get ready for badminton that will get rid of some pent up aggression lol

Hey Lingey,
Thanks for asking, Nurse app went fine, kind of glad it's done with so I can get myself in order for next week as i start dring on the 14th. I'm not sure of how short protocol works really, but i'm sure you will keep us posted with your journey so we can support you along the way.x I'm a little annoyed that we cant drink tea , I'm not a massive tea drinker, but if I feel a headache coming along, I need to drink one. Sure one here and there won't matter. I only have one every other day if that.
night hun. let us know how phone call goes tmw.xx |

Right, I'm going to be so thick and ask what does it mean about having to take your tablets ? And how long will you be stimming for? Is that when your dr offically starts?
I just want it all to start now feeling kind of sick cos everyone is needing me to do this, go here or do that. It's all important stuff aswell, and would be selfish if i didn't do what I was asked. But I'l feel better tomorrow I suppose..just need to write it all in my diary and all will be fine.x
night night hun, good luck with the tablets.xxx |

Bless you completely, sometimes you do need a bit you time so don't let people take advantage getting you running around! Hope your diary entry got out all your angst! You don't have long until it all starts very exciting times ahead x
For my short protocol i am DR with northisterone from day 18 of my cycle im taking it orally in tablet form not injection, when I finish these tablets I will have withdrawl AF (at the end of that cycle) a couple of days after stopping them then start the stimming injections menopaur and gonal f on day two of that new cycle, I hope that makes sense. I suppose I have officially started DR although when your DR is tablets doesn't feel like its all happening until the injections start and for me that's not til the stimulation phase
Everyone's protocol is slightly different I didn't realise last time that some people had injections for DR, it really doesn't take much to confuse me lol!
Hope your first day of DR went well rebeccabiker?
Have a great day everyone lingey xxx |

Hi Everyone
Hope all is ok with everyone, its lovely to read all of your posts and I wish everyone the very best and plenty of baby dust.
I am at Care Northampton and Im thinking that after this week they are going to get pretty fed up with me lol.
In a nutshell I has my scan on Tuesday, was told visually I have mild pcos. Considering I was on day 49 of my cycle my womb lining was only 5.7mm and they expected it to be about 12-13mm so that wasnt good either. I was then told I had 15 follies on right ovary and 19 on left so I was told I could potentially be high risk of OHSS once things get going. I got a call on Wednesday from Care and still no sign of AF however 3 hours after putting the phone down low and behold it arrives (yippee)
After a couple more phonecalls.....Im still on the LP but I have been told to take the contraceptive pill, sounded so weird when they said to take it and I did have to ask the question....doesnt that defeat the object of what we are trying to achieve? I was told that by taking Microgynon I would level out my hormones because my antral follicle count is bad and then I can begin taking Buserelin.
I started the pill last night and on day 17 (21st April) I shall begin DR, we have drugs teach on 17th so that fits nicely and drugs are being delivered next friday.
Everything has happened so quickly but my fingers are crossed so tightly. We are funded for one cycle and we dont have many other options financially so my hope is we get it right first time.
I look forward to sharing this journey with you all x |
