Hi girls we go in 3 weeks - Alex is 4.5 - I need some advice please on where to go and what tickets to get in advance? Ie a ticket to last ages or just odd days? We are there for 11 days.

Thanks in advance!

Hi

we went for 3 weeks and had tickets that covered the whole time even if we didn't go every day. They work out much cheaper if you buy them before you go. It also depends how much you want to do, we didn't spend long days in the parks as it was very full on for the kids. so we would go in the mornings then do something else later like just chilling out in the swimming pools. The disney water parks are brilliant. Differnt places sometimes have different deals in the uk so much cheaper we found to buy them before you go

have fun

We go in November and are finding the the Brits Guide to Orlando is fantastic for finding out everything you need and where to buy tickets from. It's in Amazon for about £10 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brit-Guide-Orlando-2012-Guides/dp/0572036647/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1336637080&sr=8-1

Hi Helen

Just a quickie as literally just got in from Spain and been trying to catch up with everyone and saw this (only cos I'm looking to book for November this year Smile!)

We go every year to Florida and have visited with kids from 1 year old to 17 years old - so seen and done pretty much everything!!

I too have a 4.5 year old and we went last November as he had just turned 4 and he had a whale of a time! As the others have said the Disney parks are really huge which is why we avoid them in any great quantity. We do the smaller parks such as Sea World - which is great for little ones as they have a small water park in the childrens area if they want to cool down - just remember to take a towel and a change of clothes though! Having said this if this is going to be your one and only visit then of course you want to do as much as you can - but it is very tiring. The first time we went we didn't have kids and there wasn't half the parks there are now but we never stopped and did a park every day - then decided we would go back the next year - And we've never stopped going back as we love it - but we do different things now!!!

FloridaTix is the place to go for tickets. They are the cheapest and they send real tickets - a lot of the on line suppliers send a voucher that you have to swap for a real ticket when you get to the parks - its a pain! Although you want to do as much as you can I wouldn't buy the 14 day Disney Ticket AND the 14 day Flex Universal Tickets together. I would decide which parks you wanted to do the most and decide on the Disney or Universal 14 day ticket and then buy odd days of the opposite - if that makes sense?*! The last couple of years with our little one we've just done a 3 Park for 14 days - Sea World, Busch Gardens and Aquatica (which is a water park) and then buy a Disney Ticket for 1 or 2 more parks. Gatorland is another nice one for this age group as they have a large water area which DS absolutely loved and still talks about it now - 2 years on! Although there isn't an awful lot of ohter things to do in the park itself.

Are you driving? I would also recommend taking a cheap fold up buggy (or buy one when you get there you can get them for about $25 dollars from WalMart and it works cheaper than hiring the little karts in the parks!). I know at this age they are pretty much altogether out of them - but they are huge parks and to just walk around the parks without stopping anywhere is a very long walk for little feet Smile!

Right best be off - if you want any further info just let me know - and you too Shelley - like where to eat (depending on where you're staying etc Smile! When do you go Shelley - we may be there at the same time!

Hi there,

No advice as we have not been yet. We are going in August. Disney are doing 2 weeks for the price of one at the moment with entry to all parks. My MIL has been before and says that they are so big you would not get board if you did go every day.

Very exciting. We got the guide as suggested above. It is free and tells you good places to eat ect.

Have fun and please let me know how it goes and any tips you pick up along the way.

We went at Easter have a look at www.undercover tourist.com has a guide to how busy the parks are on any day so you can plan which park to go to.

Blizzard beach fab fab fab went 3 times, animal kingdom fab go early as the animals hide when it gets hot. Epcot great more relaxed then the other parks. Wouldn't bother with Hollywood studios universal etc. Downtown Disney great but go in the day or mid week as gets very busy at night. Sea world a must go twice do the day and evening it's really nice at night very relaxed when the evening shamu show is on the kids fairground area is quiet. If you go to Hollywood studios see the fantasmic show.

Plan your rides the day before look at the map and work out a route, fast pass what you can. Packed lunch a must as food rubbish.

Make sure you get a disney photo pass card from an official photographer then get as many photos on it as possible you can buy the disc or order photos at home online. At downtown Disney there is a photo pass shop where you can get some photos without paying p&p.

We got our tickets from Billy bobs ticket booth we had a 14 day 4 parks plus 4 extras like the water parks. If you buy a single sea world ticket you can get it validated for another day so you can go twice.

Will keep thinking, you pay for car parking at the parks $14 except the water parks but if you visit another disney park the same day you can reuse your parking ticket.

Have fun it's hard work but kids loved it.

Take a buggy rentals are expensive or buy a $15 one from Walmart.

OOOOh just wanted to say I'm looking at flights for November Smile!!!!!

Helen - did you manage to find some tickets?

Forgot to say - anyone with little ones (under 12) Legoland is brill!!! It was newly opened last year when we went and the queues were massive! Macdonald's were doing a buy an adult ticket get a child free with their children's meal last November - so look out for the offers. Also get hold of the books in the restaurants as they give you things like 10% off dinners or .50 cents of each breakfast - doesn't sound a lot but when you realise it pays for tips on your meals it saves you a fair bit!

Agree with Louise - Blizzard Beach - in fact ALL the water parks are brill - and it's an alternative to the big parks but still has rides. The areas for the little one are all contained in a small area so you cant sit at the side and watch little ones that have some water confidence - DS was fine last year at just turned 4 but a bit iffy the year before at just turned 3.

Louise - we haven't done Disney on a big scale for about 7 years - visited Magic Kingdon for first time since then last year - didn't realise they did photo pass card for you to order on line later - will look out for it this year!

Jazz is right - the parks are huge and we do them in stages when we have very young ones with us - so we may visit the huge parks 3 times but actually only do one complete round of it IYKWIM.

SeaWorld is just magical and DS would visit this park all day every day if he could! Another tip we were told is go the opposite way around the parks - people tend to go in and turn right - so we were
told to always turn left - not sure if it makes a difference!*?

Getting excited just talking about it Smile!
