Hi Lala, I thought I was going to be a billy no mates! I'm at Care in Sheffield - they don't do weekend transfers, so no chance of going to blast for me, but day 3 is a day beyond where I've been before.

Is this your first treatment? Is this for your first baby? Exciting stuff!!

Hi Wendy,

Yeah first timer and hopefully 1st baby, we are at notts. DH had to have ssr last Monday when I had ec and we had donor sperm on back up but was really surprised as he has always been told he would never have kids they was able to get sperm, and some to freeze aswell.

What about you obviously you have a lovely son is this your first or second time of IVF?

Lala, great news about the SSR, sounds fab. What a great thing.

Yes, I do have a son, who is great and I'm extremely lucky to have. This is my third IVF (first cycle I had a m/c and second cycle resulted in my son). This is my first cycle since then though, so it's 3 years since I did it all.

I'm a single woman doing it on my own, so obviously a bit mad, but without having met Mr Right, I decided to go it alone, so I'm using the donor sperm from the same donor that I had my son with and obviously trying for number 2!

How old are you? I turned 37 in January, so I'm a bit of an old bird!

Well Lala, I'm officially PUPO too. I have 1 grade 2/3 7 cell embryo on board. Other 3 weren't good enough to freeze, so OTD is 2nd March!

Going crazy yet?!!

Lala, looks like it's us oldies together then! lol.

No, no-one to help me with my son Theo. I'm at work as well now! lol. I just have to get on with it I figure. I just do a home pregnancy test that Care provide me with (I've bought quite a few more as well though!).

Did you choose to just have one embryo put back? Was it a blast?

Right must get on, nearly home time.

Hi ladies

Room for another one. I had my ET on 6th Feb and I am due to test on 21st. I have been reading a lot of posts on this site but refrained from posting in order to not tempt fate but have caved in now. This 2 ww is a killer. This is my second cycle my first in September 2011 with BFN. I feel more positive this time but have up and down days. I am 34 so the baby out of the group(hopefully having one) I had 2 embies put back at day 3. I found the first week went quite quickly but this second one is dragging so much. Tempted to test early but not sure if this will give me an accurate reading so fighting with my own thoughts at the moment. What do you all think and plan on doing?

Good luck to all of us xxx

Hello!!

Welcome MissT and Wannabamummy

Miss T good luck for EC tomorrow. Exciting stuff. I'll have everything crossed for you. Just think you can have 3 embies put back. Fancy triplets?! Lol.

Wannabamummy, gosh not long now until you test. I would have caved in before now and tested, but you're being very good. I've always found the 2nd week of the 2ww much worse. If you're only 4 days from testing that means you're 14 days post EC, so you may get an accurate result. There definitely won't be any HCG from the trigger shot left. The only thing I would say is that I do know some ladies who've only had a positive test on their OTD, so if you got a negative, there may still be time for it to change.

Wow!

As this is 3rd time round for me, if you have any questions, I'm happy to answer them (if I can!).

Wendy xx

Hi Wendy

I do keep arguing with myself about testing. It is my DH's birthday tomorrow and was thinking that would be a fantastic bday present but also thought it would put a downer on day if negative. He said it is my choice and he wouldn't mind but I just wanted him to have a good day as he has been so good during the last two weeks he has done everything for me as I have been off work. Did you have any symptoms during your 2 ww with your son I have had slightly sore boobs on and off but then I wonder if I am imagining things. So difficult.

Wannabamummy

I can understand that wanting to test thing - how about doing it Sunday morning after your DH's birthday? Then you've had a nice day in ignorance and test then? Are you back at work next week? I have been at work all week (well i did take Monday off for EC, but came back to work after ET yesterday) as I just don't have the holiday this year.

With my son, I did have very sore boobs - but the lovely pessaries can cause that as well. Having said that, many women don't get them. other than that I don't think I had any symptoms. I was always convinced I'd 'feel' pregnant, but never really did - well until I got a big bump! lol. I have noticed already though that my boobs are feeling a bit tender, but ET was only yesterday so no chance of it being pregnancy related yet - so I think it's due to the pessaries that I started taking on Wednesday.

Good luck!

Hi All,

Welcome MissT and Wannabamummy

Wendy~ you must be a very strong woman to do it on your own well and be working at the same time, yeah only had 1 embie put back which was a blast and 1 blast frozen. we are NHS funded so could only have 1 put back.

Wannabamummy~ Not sure if i would test early as you dont know if you get the right result, i cant anyway i have to go to hospital have a blood test then go home and wait for a call, which will be a nightmare. Good luck in whatever you decide fingers and toes crossed.

MissT~ goodluck for saturday morning it was my first time and i was at nottingham aswell, do you know what dr you have?

Hello, can I join too?
Had a frostie transferred on Monday. The 2ww is so hard. This is my first time posting as didn't on my fresh cycle but this time I feel I need a little support. Anyone else using frosties? Mine lost a few cells during the thaw and so not feeling too positive. I transferred a 5 cell grade 2 on day 3 it was my only one so I guess I can take heart that it at least survived the thaw. Hoping it's a little fighter!

Hi all,

Lala, I think EC is with Miss Ragunath tomorrow. The initial consultation was with Miss Koita. It all seems very efficient, i had thought there would be a little more contact with the doctor but I suppose until EC & ET there's not much to discuss.

Wendy, twins would be perfect ..... triplets I think not!!! but yeh on a serious note a positive result first go around would be fantastic. Is EC painful? it all seems very close now ....

Cookiedough, nearly at the end of week 1 keeping smiling

Wannabamummy, have a lovely B'day tomorrow .... what ever you decide about test

Really dumb question but i have to ask (been scratching my head since first looking at boards) BFP & BFN i get the meaning but what does the abrev. actually stand for?????

Hey girls can i join you all in the 2ww? Im another oldie - 39 in a few weeks!

This is my 5th ICSI cycle - 2nd with Care Notts. Sadly no success yet for me. I had the immune treatment both cycles with Care and tried for the Array testing this time but my egg numbers werent high so nature made its own selection!

I had 2 blasts transfered on Monday 13th and my OTD is Sunday 26th so im almost a week into my wait!

Good luck to everyone! xox

Hi ladies!

Lala, I probably am quite strong, but I'm also quite bl**dy minded, so don't see why being on my own should be any different. And I've got nothing to compare it to, I don't know how much harder it is! lol. Sounds like you had good embies. I got 9 eggs, but only 4 fertilised and only 1 went to day 3, the other 3 didn't progress, so I'm a bit gutted really. Must have rubbish eggs!! 2 blasts is brilliant.

Hi Cookiedough. It is hard this waiting and it is hard to first post on this forum, but the majority of women are really helpful and supportive. I've got everything crossed for your little defrosted embie! I know other ladies who've had embies that have lost cells after being defrosted and gone on to have a BFP so keep positive! Looks like there are 3 of us with single embies on board.

MissT, yes BFP is big fat positive and BFN is big fat negative, Cookiedough is right. Let me know if you need any other abbreviations, I've been knocking around a while so understand most of them! lol As for EC, mine really hurt, but I'm at Sheffield and they only do local anaesthetic, whereas I think Notts do sedation (so you basically go to sleep!), so you'll be ok. It's a bit uncomfortable for a couple of days after, but you'll be fine.

Anyway, going to go and get some tea. It's exciting isn't it.

Wendy x

Wannabamummy, two embies on board, OTD 21st Feb
Lala, one embie on board, OTD 24th Feb
Aygirl, 2 blasts on board, OTD 26th Feb
KerryLou, one blast on board, OTD 26 Feb
Cookiedough, one embie on board, OTD 28th Feb?
Wendy, one embie on board, OTD 2nd March

Let me know if I've got all your details right!

Sorry I can't do any fancy graphics, I'm not that technically minded!

Hi there ladies, please can I join you also. I have not been on BB for a long time. I have struggled to log back on as my old password had expired. For those of you who have cycled with me previously I was user name Kerry Louise. Wendy we defo cycled together in 2009 and I think you were a regular on our Daffie Dillies thread throughout your pregnancy, I think Theo and Grace are only a few months apart in age. Grace was two in December.

For those of you who I have not cycled with before a bit about me. I am 36 today yes it is my birthday!!! My husband and I TTC for 10 years, we could get pregnant naturally but miscarried between 6-8 weeks. I had 2 ivf cycles at Leeds with BFN and 1 at Care in Manchester with again a BFN. I then had the Chicargo blood tests at Care in Nottingham under George Nduwke and at last got answers I had an immune issue. I had a good EC with 10 collected and all fertilised with ICSI. We took the risk on this cycle to attempt to grow our embryos to blastocyst as on all previous failed cycles had a 3 day transfer. 4 made it to good grade 1 blasts. Two of which were put back as a day 5 transfer and one became my daughter Grace in 2009. We ended up culturing the others even further and one made it to a day 6 Blastocyst which we had frozen.

On Monday we had a bit of a tense morning as we awaited the phone call from the embryologist from care to see if our one frozen 6 day old blastocyst had survived the thaw, fortunately it made it and we had our transfer later on that day. It seems strange that I have gone through 5 2ww but this one is the one where I am struggling the most as I am wanting to test, especially as it is my birthday today, but I know it is too soon, I have been given my OTD as 26th, but I know I will end up doing a test before then like I did in 2009, which I did on day 10 on a digital test.

Looks like there are going to be quite a few of us on here driving each other crazy with the shall we test early or not situation. I am so glad I am not on my own. The ladies on here are very supportive and I have made a fantastic group of friends over the years on here and we sometimes meet up with our little ones. It was great to meet the ladies whom I had chatted with for 10 months on here face to face with their little ones. Heres hoping aftter the next 10 months we will be able to do the same. Fingers crossed for everyone and sending you all positive vibes.

I will read through everyones posts again and try and do a few personals to you tomorrow. It is just great that I have at last been able to log back on. I so hope I can remember my password again tomorrow, better go write it down.

I wonder which one of us will be the first to POAS???

Take care ladies

Hey Kerry, I remember you - as soon as I saw your name I remembered you. I was on the Autumn Arrivals mainly, as we were slightly ahead of you I think. Theo was due at the end of October (28th) in 2009, but made a spectacular entrance just over 6 weeks early on 14th September.

Great news that your frostie has thawed ok, great news and such a relief.

There are a few of us, it's great. Looks like i'm one of the latest, but like you Kerry, I doubt there's any way I'll wait until 2nd March.

Aygirl, sorry you didn't get to Array, but fingers crossed for this cycle for you.

Right, really must go! lol

Hello ladies
Can I join the gang? I'm on the cycle buddies thread with lala.
Had a day 6 blast defrosted on 15/2/12 at Notts and OTD (official test day!) is 28/2
I'm 33 and DH 35, TTC 3yrs. We had our first treatment as ICSI due to my poly cystic ovaries & his severe treatozoospermia (2% normal). I'm trying to not symptom spot or be obsessed this time. Last time we had a bit of a sad time - got a BFP but v faint. They didn't plan to scan me til I was over 8 weeks so I kept doing a weekly digital test which went from 1-2 wks, 2-3 wks and then 3-4 wks as expected. Then on scan it wasn't developing normally at all & was >4 weeks behind on scan appearances than it should have been. Cheeky little thing. So by 10 weeks we knew it wasn't right & had a medical management of a miscarriage.
I hate the 2ww. I was so positive last time and then at each step of the way kept being positive. I want to stay positive this time but it's hard when you've had a negative experience isn't it! It just feels like one hurdle after the next. If we get a BFP I won't rest til we've had a scan and all looks good, but then it will be wait til 12 weeks normal scan. Guess then the whole time you're waiting for the next scan or bloods anyway!! Aaaggghhhh
So will be glad to have some buddies to try & stay sane with!
I'm not saying any of this To worry you lot and I'm sure some of you have more sad stories. So I will try and keep our PMA!!

We need Wendy to update the list now!!

So hello to one & all
Speak soon
Love
JEP
