Hi Purdyspal, glad all is ok. We chose not to have the nuchal test. Even if it came back as high risk I wouldnt want further testing anyway so no point worrying myself even more than I do already!

We didnt actually see the consultant, even though the appointment was supposed to be with him. We just saw one of his minions. We were only in there for 10 mins anyway so he probably didnt want to waste his time with that. She didnt say a lot, just said the scan was perfect last week, and asked if we had any questions. Then she said the birth depends on how they are positioned later on, but they would prefer for a vaginal birth if possible. No mention of aspirin or anything, in fact she didnt examine me in any way whatsoever.

I mentioned some pains I had which she said was all normal stretching. I was sure thats what they were anyway but its best to check isnt it. Ant then she said see you at 20 weeks. I cant believe at our next scan we will find out what sexes we're having! I cant wait!!!!

Im going to have a look at the keyrings at Tesco, they sound like nice little presents for relatives. Enjoy the baby show!

I was thinking the same about the Nuchal but knowing me I'd still worry myself if I hadn't had it done. I didn't actually see the consultant just his registrar, he bugged me a bit as he kept going on about amniocentesis.
Yeah I hear the pains are very common. How many weeks are you now? Are you going to have a 3d scan? I am at about 17 weeks, so I can find out gender too. Everyone's convinced it's one of each. I'd love to have a girl though.

Have you decided on a pushchair? , I've got my heart set on the ICandy peach blossom 2. I'm hoping to grab a bargain tomorrow but won't hold my breath. Is it too early to be ordering things?

I'm here girls, sorry went AWOL for a while. I wasn't getting updates so thought we'd all strayed away.

Scan was great, everything was as it should have been but they bought my dates forward so I am now EDD of 21.11.12. Bubs even had hiccups. The relief was bigger than I expected, was holding dh's hand so tightly I didn't realise until he told me off! So now our family all know, but feeling pretty abandoned. I requested why I wasn't seeing the cons after my scan but they don't want to see me until 20 wks. So i haven't had anything checked since 8wks. Feeling very tired, and look very pale for me so have query on my iron levels. Am taking Zita west vitamins so there shouldn't be a problem but you never know.

10 more days till my next m/w check so will ask her then.

Hope you're all feeling a little better with semester changes and now drug free - which I am very happy about.

And afraid to say - I'm still symptom free!,

Hi Purdyspal, I haven't really looked at pushchairs etc properly yet. We called into Mothercare and Mamas & Papas when we were in Meadowhall the other day but there wasn't much to see for twins. Will start looking seriously once we hit 20weeks. I'd love a 3D scan but OHs job is a bit iffy at the moment so we darent spend any cash on non-essentials just in case.

I'm 14wk6days today. And my bump is very big already! I've been takin pics every week for my baby journal (that I still haven't got around to starting. Oops!) And the difference between week 12 and 13 was unreal!

Emmilou, so glad to hear your scan went well. And you're so lucky being symptom-free! My sickness has started easing though, so starting to eat more now. Still can't face healthy things like veg etc but I'm eating what I can. And being drug-free is a relief!

Hope everyone else is ok. Far too quiet on here!

Got my Nuchal results everything very low risk so no further action needed. Can't wait for the 20 week scan only another 5 weeks to go lol

We are going to have a 4D scan done at 28 weeks - as this will be our only child I want to do everything I can to keep a memory of all the stages. A little expensive at Â£150 but my Dad has offered to give us some money to it so we can get a DVD copy for my Mum as a present.

Still feeling fat rather than pregnant at the moment but hoping that is going to change over the next few weeks. Got back from Lisbon yesterday evening - had swollen ankles from the flight but apart from that all is good.

Great results Ladyluck, and 5 weeks will fly by. Ive just been looking online at 3d/4d scans. Cant really justify the money at the mo though as OHs workplace are laying people off in the next couple week and we are just hoping he escapes with a job at the end of it. Great timing but then I suppose no time is a good time!

Ive just realised I wrote on my last post that I was 14wk6 days. Im obviously trying to move myself on a bit as Im 14 weeks today! Cant you tell Im impatient Laughing

Sorry not been on for a while, have still been checking on you all, been really sick past few weeks n now full of cold ðŸ˜” but I am pleased to say that our 12 week scan also went really well although 1 wouldn't stop wiggling so she couldnt measure it ðŸ˜„ but both are very active she said lol

Hi,

Scan went fine thanks Cake, cervix is 5 (not quite sure what that means but they seemed pleased!) but was great as got to see Bertie again. I think he was asleep but when I moved my tummy he had a wiggle. They want to do another at 16 weeks to keep an eye on it which I not mind as then I'll have a 7, 12, 13, and 16 week photo record!

We went to the baby show in Birmingham yesterday which was ok, I was expecting a few more freebies rather than the thousand leaflets I came out with but we got some ideas about prams and nurseries as well as listening to a good talk on breast feeding. We think we'll go back to the Manchester one at the end of August as there were some quite good deals on.

The 3 and 4D scans, do they show you what sex baby is or can they still keep it secret? We don't want to know but like Lady, this is the only baby we'll have so might be nice for a few mementoes!

I have my scan today,i`m 11 weeks 5 days.I am so excited,although i am more calm now that i have the fetal doppler so i listen to baby`s heart about 3 times/week.No bump for me yet....i am very slim but i don`t notice anything significant apart from the fact that it`s becoming harder to button my trousers Smile

Topie, glad that your cervix scan went well. At least you get extra scans out of it! I read on another forum about someone who had a 4D scan and they didn't want to know the sex so the sonographer just concentrated on the face

Hi all,
Thanks Cake.I did have an amazing scan,i have a very active baby,measuring 5,5 cm,a bit bigger then 11weeks 5 days Smile

),everything seems ok,and the technician thinks based on what he could see so far that it might be a boy.I booked a private scan gender determination in june anyway so i will find out soon.
I keep looking at the pictures.....he is cute Wink

Well i think I was the last one to have a scan and mine was today. All was well and the baby was wiggling, kicking and put its palms to the screen. Very Happy

It was such a relief as I have been worrying that the heart may have stopped but it was beating happily. Very Happy

So the little one measured 6.87cm at 13w1 (moved forward 2 days). Very Happy

So since the scan which I will add was 20 mins early - good job I had been drinking water like mad early on I have been shopping in ikea, had dinner at Frankie and Bennys and had a fab time looking at baby stuff in mamas and papas, next and boots. I have had a fantastic day. Only downer is over the last couple of days I seem to have mild heartburn started. Sad

I suffered bad last pregnancy for alot of the time. Tried to ring doctors for gaviscon but no answer, think they have home for the day!

Hey girls - had my second midwife appointment yesterday and got to hear little bubba's heart beat Very Happy

Anyone else suffering with swollen ankles? Was hoping it was just related to air travel but unfortunately its quite common in pregnancy so expect this is going to be my "bad" things lol

Do we need to start a list of dates for our 20 weeks scans?

Mine is 26 June at 12.30

Hi Ladies, hope we are all enjoying this glorious weather! Ladyluck, I tried wearing my old faithful shoes that I've had for a couple of years and I got blisters. Has never happened before so I think my feet must have swollen a bit. Can't tell to look at them though.

I'm hoping it cools down a bit next week (we're never happy are we!). I'm making my first wedding cake for a friends wedding on saturday, so don't need this heat driving me crazy too. I've only ever done birthday cakes etc so I'm very nervous about this one. And its 4 tier! Fingers crossed it works out or I'll be 1 friend down!

not a lot happening here. Just waiting for 4th July to arrive which seems forever away. Although I do have some news.... I'm getting married in 3 weeks! Went to book it on Tuesday and when they asked when we were thinking of we said asap. I didn't think it would be that soon though!! We've been meaning to for the last few years and never really get around to doing anything about it so decided finally to get hitched! Very simple small ceremony at the registry office and then back to ours for a garden party. Just hoping the weather will be nice

I am sure you will have a lovely day whatever the weather and I look forward to hearing all about it xx I got married last July and I can't believe that (a) I got married in the first place and (b) it's almost a year lol

I know what you mean about the wait - I am a little earlier than you 26 June but it still feels a lifetime away. Got my Mum coming to stay for a few days so she can come to the scan with me. She didn't get to experience any of this with my brother's baby but I suppose it's different when it's not your own daughter. She feels justified in getting involved and telling me what's what lol

Hope everyone else is doing ok - we are in a bit of a limbo right now aren't we just waiting for those 20 week scans.

Hello fellow preggers ladies!!!
Been keeping a cheeky eye on you all from time to time and wanted to say glad scans going well ! I'm finding once the expansion to the tummy really kicks in it starts to feel really real! The wait for our 20w scan seems to be taking an age!!!

Hobbit has started a thread on bbb for 'autumn babies' so you guys welcome to join. On our march scan thread our dates oct and nov so figure you guys will be nov - dec? But the twinnies on here may beat me to it?!!! Hehe!

Emnrick - hope you're doing ok? From 16w I've been feeling really good- energy back and enthusiasm rather than being a lazy girl so hoping this happens for you guys too. Not sure how long it will last so going to make the most of it!!!

Thanks Ladyluck, had my 16 week midwife appt today. And we got to hear the heartbeats!!!! It was amazing. She was sure it was 2 different heartbeats we were hearing as they were fairly far apart. I cant wait for the 20wk scan now!

JEP, have been keeping tabs on all you March ladies too! I feel like Im jinxing myself if I move threads already, but will definitely be reading and will join you eventually

Had a little trip to Babies R Us this morning, we'd seen the baby jogger city online and wanted to see how it handled, folded etc. Think its the one! My brother said he will buy it for us as a combined wedding / baby present Surprised

- I have such an amazing family!

hope you're all happy and babies are doing well.
Huge congratulations and good luck wishes to Cake for your upcoming wedding. how exciting!
i've ordered my pushchair today, went for the icandy peach blossom 2 with the carrycot and the maxi cosi pebble car seats. i got the car seat adapters and a single car seat for free- saved me Â£210 whoop whoop Smile

they've been out of stock apparently for a while and are due in again in August, that's why i've not risked waiting to order it. I had to pay 30% deposit which kind of made me wince when she told us how much, but all in a good cause. it pushes like a dream and looks really pretty.

so who's finding out genders then? i've got my gender scan on thursday, it's Â£80 for a 3D scan (more expensive because it's twins...like everything else!). we've not made our mind up if or how we are telling everyone yet. I really really really want a girl as have two boys already, so may need a bit of adjustment time if i'm expecting two boys. is that terrible of me??

i've got my 20 week scan on 12th July. - Jep looking forward to joining you in Autumn babies soon.

I use my doppler every day/night and it gives me so much reassurance, although i think i've felt movement on a few occassions over the past few days. I mentioned it to my MW and she said its quite likely as I have had 2 boys already so I know what its supposed to feel like.

oh and how is everybody's bump? i am absolutely huge... I stick out a mile and have gained over a stone due to constant hunger. #i must admit I popped over the last 2 weeks. As of today I am 15w5d and well and truly out of my size 10's and into maternity.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and this blinking rain clears up so I can get my tan on! lol
