Hi we have made the decision to have a consultation and put our name down on the waiting list for donor eggs.
I have had bloodtests done with my doctor for FSH, LH, TSH, E2, Progesterone and AMH. I have also had HIV, Hep B & C. My husband had a SA in June.
Will I have to pay for all off these tests to be done again at CARE?
What is the initial outlay prior to the treatment?
Many thanks x |

Hi Gina,
I'll have to be quick as I need to get my daughter up soon! Care will need both of you to have had HIV and Hep tested no more than 12 months from the time that egg transfer takes place. You will also need to be tested for chlamydia, rubella antigens and CMV - all of which your GP can do for you, though Care can do this for an additional charge. Care may very well ask for their own sperm assay as it is more detailled than the ones the NHS run (£93), but if you have had previous treatment at another clinic then I am sure they will take these. The initial consultation is £170 and the donor registration fee (to go on the list) is £450.
We had treatment at Northampton and really cannot praise them more highly, and particularly the donation team. Fortunately the wait for donor eggs at the moment seems to be very short, though this can always change.
Good luck!
