Rahnuma Kazem FRCOG Medical Director, Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Rahnuma is the full time Medical Director at CARE Northampton She is a sub-specialty trained Consultant in Reproductive Medicine. Her previous post was a Consultant in Reproductive Medicine for the University of Nottingham from 1998 to 2004.
Rahnuma was also an Honorary Consultant for the Fertility Clinic at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham She maintains a keen interest in all aspects of infertility but especially in egg donation.
Rahnuma has conducted research into egg freezing and egg donation as part of her M.D. Thesis for the University of Aberdeen.
Since joining CARE Northampton in 2005, Rahnuma has worked with the team to dramatically improve the pregnancy results.
Mr Ken Dowell FRCOG Consultant Gynaecologist
Ken has many years experience in infertility. Ken is also an Honorary Consultant at Queens Medical Centre Fertility Clinic, Nottingham. He is particularly experienced in the diagnosis and management of male factor infertility and surgical sperm recovery.
Janine Elson MD, FRCOG Associate Medical Director and Consultant Gynaecologist
Janine has been an RCOG accredited subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology since 2004, and for the last 10 years has been a consultant in Leicester and London with extensive experience in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery including all aspects of Assisted Conception.
Janine undertook her initial medical training at Leicester University and Leicester Royal Infirmary and her subspecialty training at St Mary's Hospital, Manchester. She is known internationally for her research into early pregnancy failure, endocrinology and gynaecological ultrasound, and her research work underpins national guidelines in the area.
Janine sits on the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology recurrent pregnancy loss guideline group which produces European wide guidance. She is a Medical Advisor to the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust. She speaks fluent English and French.
Ms Salma Noor MRCOG Consultant Gynaecologist
Salma has obtained her accreditation in obstetrics and gynaecology from London deanery.After her specialty training,she participated in a fellowship programme in reproductive medicine and minimal access surgery at St Bartholomews hospital,London.she has extensive experience in operative laparoscopy and hysteroscopy.She is trained in gynaecological ultrasound,saline sonography and hycosy.
She has vast experience in all aspects of reproductive medicine.She is especially interested in menstrual disorders and reproductive endocrinology.
Miss Shipra Singh MRCOG Consultant Gynaecologist
Shipra has substantial experience in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery. She completed her specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Wessex deanery and then worked as research fellow in Reproductive Medicine at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London. She gained extensive experience in all aspects of Reproductive Medicine including reproductive endocrinology, fertility preservation in cancer patients and reproductive surgery. Her special interest is management of ovulatory disorders, egg donation and recurrent implantation failure.
Judith Byrne RGN Clinic Director
Judith has worked extensively in both the NHS and private sectors of healthcare She undertook her nursing and midwifery training at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and after many years as a ward sister became a nurse manager 15 years ago.
Judith has worked in the speciality of infertility since 1992 during which time she has advanced her knowledge and experience of infertility tremendously.
She worked as Nurse Manager with the team at CARE Northampton for many years and recently became Clinic Director. Judith continues to develop the unit in line with the regulatory framework set out by the Care Quality Commission and the HFEA.
She is also the Registered Manager for the Care Quality Commission. She heads a happy and efficient team who continue to provide a high standard of patient care with excellent results.
Anne Felstead Clinician
After qualification, Anne had further training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology before entering General practice. She worked as an inner city GP for 23 years whilst retaining a special interest in fertility and joined the team at CARE Northampton as a clinician in 2010.
Lynne Nice Lab Manager
Dr Lynne Nice is a state registered Clinical Embryologist with the Health and Care Professions Council. She has extensive experience within Clinical Embryology having started her embryology career in Bristol in 1990. Prior to this she was involved in embryo culture in a research capacity.
Her previous post was as Fertility Services Manager and Senior Embryologist at the Chiltern Hospital where she was responsible for the redesign and operation of the service, achieving ISO9001 accreditation.
Lynne joined CARE in 2011 and is the Person Responsible to the HFEA for the Northampton unit.
