Rahnuma Kazem FRCOG – Medical Director, Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Rahnuma Kazem FRCOG, Medical Director

Rahnuma is the full time Medical Director at CARE Northampton She is a sub-specialty trained Consultant in Reproductive Medicine. Her previous post was a Consultant in Reproductive Medicine for the University of Nottingham from 1998 to 2004.

Rahnuma was also an Honorary Consultant for the Fertility Clinic at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham She maintains a keen interest in all aspects of infertility but especially in egg donation.

Rahnuma has conducted research into egg freezing and egg donation as part of her M.D. Thesis for the University of Aberdeen.

Since joining CARE Northampton in 2005, Rahnuma has worked with the team to dramatically improve the pregnancy results.

Mr Ken Dowell FRCOG – Consultant Gynaecologist

Ken has many years experience in infertility. Ken is also an Honorary Consultant at Queens Medical Centre Fertility Clinic, Nottingham. He is particularly experienced in the diagnosis and management of male factor infertility and surgical sperm recovery.

Judith Byrne RGN – Unit Manager

Judith Byrne RGN, Unit Manager

Judith has worked extensively in both the NHS and private sectors of healthcare She undertook her nursing and midwifery training at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and after many years as a ward sister became a nurse manager 15 years ago.

Judith has worked in the speciality of infertility since 1992 during which time she has advanced her knowledge and experience of infertility tremendously.

She worked as Nurse Manager with the team at CARE Northampton for many years and recently became Unit Manager. Judith continues to develop the unit in line with the regulatory framework set out by the Care Quality Commission and the HFEA.

She is also the Registered Manager for the Care Quality Commission. She heads a happy and efficient team who continue to provide a high standard of patient care with excellent results.

Mr Roy Davies, FRCS(Ed) FRCOG

Mr Roy Davies, FRCS (Ed) FRCOG

Roy established the Northamptonshire Fertility Service in 1989 offering a wide range of infertility treatments across the region. He has run dedicated NHS fertility clinics for many years and has a wide experience in all aspects of infertility.

Anne Felstead – Clinician

After qualification, Anne had further training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology before entering General practice. She worked as an inner city GP for 23 years whilst retaining a special interest in fertility and joined the team at CARE Northampton as a clinician in 2010.
