Dr Georgios Petsas
I graduated from the Medical School of the University of Crete and I completed my specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the University Hospital of Heraklion in Greece. Soon after starting my career as a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, I was prompted by my special interest in human reproduction and I moved in the UK where I completed a clinical research fellowship in reproductive medicine. I joined Care in 2018 bringing with me over 10 years of experience in the field.
I have obtained the British Fertility Society certification in Pelvic Ultrasound and Embryo Transfer. I am a member of the British Fertility Society (BFS) and European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).
My PhD focuses on the role of pituitary neuropeptides in early embryo implantation and in the pathophysiology of diseases with defective placentation. As a result of my research experience in reproductive endocrinology and reproductive immunology, I developed a special clinical interest in treating couples with repeated implantation failure and recurrent miscarriage.
