Simon Wood, Clinical Director
Simon is Clinical Director at Care Fertility Chester. He qualified at the University of Liverpool in 1990 and undertook his initial medical training both in Merseyside and Manchester. Simon started working in fertility in 1997, subsequently becoming the first sub specialist trainee in Reproductive Medicine in the North West and completed his MD Thesis in Male Infertility in 2004. Appointed as a consultant Gynaecologist in 2003, he has led the development of Fertility services in Chester since then initially running a successful transport IVF service and then overseeing the development, and licensing of, a full IVF service in Chester. He is experienced in all aspects of Reproductive Medicine & Surgery and has a special interest in male infertility. In addition to his clinical work, Simon is committed to research and training as an author of many publications and lead for research studies as well as being a previous member of the British Fertility Society (BFS) training Committee and accredited trainer for junior doctors and fertility nurses.
