The cost of IVF

At CARE, we believe that family is for everyone; that’s why we want to ensure that you have the best treatment possible. We understand that the cost of IVF is a big consideration and it can be an anxious time. We’re here to support you, and we will answer any questions that you might have.

What is IVF?

IVF stands for in vitro fertilisation. In vitro is the term for a process performed outside of your body, usually in a test tube or culture dish. In IVF treatment, an egg is removed from the ovaries and fertilised with sperm in a laboratory.

The treatment process involves stimulating the ovaries with hormonal medication to produce lots of eggs. These eggs are then collected to be fertilised, and if successful, one or two of the embryos will be selected and placed back into the uterus.

What are CARE’s IVF success rates?

We understand that IVF costs and success rates are vital factors when deciding which clinic to have treatment at.

It is important to remember that everyone has unique circumstances that can influence how successful treatment is; therefore, we recommend that you view our success rates as a guide.

How is the cost of IVF decided, and who do we treat?

At your first consultation, we will work with you to create a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs, including a breakdown of all estimated costs. At CARE, we pride ourselves on being completely transparent with our pricing, so you are able to make an informed decision.

As part of our desire to ensure that your fertility treatment costs are manageable, we have created CAREpay, a system that offers a large range of funding packages designed to meet your needs.

We treat both private and NHS patients. If you would like to know more about NHS funding, please visit our NHS funding page.

A breakdown of costs

We’ve broken down the costs of IVF into three distinct categories: pre-treatment costs, IVF treatment costs and fertility preservation costs.

Pre-treatment costs include your initial consultation, your scan, semen analysis and fertility assessments. These costs range from £230 for your initial consultation to between £265 and £535 for your fertility assessment. A scan costs between £195 to £250, and a semen analysis costs £175.

IVF treatment costs include IVF, IVF using donated eggs, and IVF related additional treatment costs such as surgical sperm retrieval, CAREmaps or IUI.  The price ranges from between £3,450 to £3,750 for IVF and £6,300 to £10,750 for IVF using donor eggs.

Fertility preservation treatments include EGGsafe-multicycle, egg preservation and sperm freezing. The price ranges from £110 for sperm freezing to £5,975 - £7,000 for a multi-cycle of EGGsafe, our egg storage package.

Treatment prices vary slightly from clinic to clinic; you can find each price list here: IVF & Fertility Treatment Cost UK | CARE Fertility.
