Donor Egg IVF Refund programme

If you need IVF using donor eggs, our Donor Egg IVF Refund package offers you the reassurance of a refund of some of your costs if your treatment is unsuccessful. It’s available, depending on medical review, to women under 50 who may need donor eggs for a number of reasons including age-related infertility.

We offer this package in conjunction with Access Fertility, who will refund you up to 50% of your fees if your treatment fails after your IVF donor egg cycles and associated embryo transfers have been completed.

What is the Donor Egg IVF Refund programme?

The Donor Egg IVF Refund programme provides up to two cycles of IVF or ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) using donor eggs, and if the cycle(s) is unsuccessful, 50% of the upfront cost will be refunded to you. This means that if you need donor eggs you can access the treatment you need with a greater level of financial security than the alternative of paying for each treatment cycle individually.

What is included in the Donor Egg IVF Refund programme?

Our Donor Egg IVF Refund programme includes*:
  • Up to two cycles of IVF including ICSI
  • Transfer of all embryos (including unlimited frozen embryos transfers in subsequent cycles)
  • Our EmbryoScope time-lapse technology which helps us to choose the best embryos to transfer
  • Fixed discounted fees that could save you up to a third off the cost of treatment
  • Freezing and one year’s storage for your embryos

*subject to medical review

Additional techniques you receive as part of the package:

CAREmaps time-lapse technology
Normal cost: £775 | Cost with package: Free
We were the first UK clinic to use time-lapse imaging to monitor embryo development. CAREmaps is our own, unique time-lapse technique that uses algorithms developed by our scientists, and that aren’t available to other clinics, to help us choose the best embryo.

Blastocyst culture
Normal cost: £425–495 | Cost with package: Free
A blastocyst is an embryo that has been developed for longer and will look very different to an earlier stage embryo.  This involves developing an embryo in the lab for longer (five or six days) than in a standard IVF cycle (two or three days). As the embryo is at a more advanced stage, we can identify the best embryo to transfer, increasing the chance of successful implantation.

The most accessible of its kind, the programme is open to patients aged under 50, making it ideal for those who have struggled to conceive due to age. It is also open to patients choosing donor IVF for other reasons, though all patients must undergo a medical review prior to the treatment.

Unlike other Access Fertility plans available from CARE Fertility, there is a fixed fee of £14,800 for the Donor Egg IVF Refund programme for women up to 50 years old. This fee provides up to two cycles of treatment, with a 50% refund for those who do not give birth following treatment.

All 7 main CARE Fertility UK clinics offer this programme, making it one of the most accessible of its kind. Find your nearest location – usually in a major city with great transport links such as London, Birmingham, or Manchester – to discover where you could be treated.

Our experience and support

Our egg donation programme has always been one of the most successful in the UK. Each of our donation teams is made up of donation experts including consultants, nurses and specialist donation administrators,  all of whom are trained to give the best advice together with streamlined care and support. The dedicated patient care you receive ensures you feel supported at all times throughout your IVF treatment with us.

What does IVF with donor eggs involve?

IVF using donor eggs is similar to our standard IVF treatment. We collect eggs from your donor and fertilise them, using the sperm of your partner, or a sperm donor, and we’ll then monitor the embryos and choose the best time to place back in the womb. We can freeze some of the other embryos for future treatment.

Choosing your egg donor

All of our egg donors are fully-screened, HFEA-registered, aged 18-35 to maximise egg quality and are fully identifiable to any children you have in future. You simply tell us what qualities you’re looking for in your ideal egg donor, and we can then match you with any donors we have that are suitable for you to choose from.

You’ll want to know as much as you can about your potential donor, so we make sure our donor profiles are as detailed as possible so that you can choose your best possible match. We also ask each of our donors to write a personal description, and you can use these to help you decide which donor is right for you. The description might include:

  • How they’re described by friends
  • How they’d describe their family
  • An outline of their personality
  • Details of their passions and aspirations

It won’t include any specific information such as names of people, places or schools, addresses or dates of birth; it’s just to help you to get a feel for who your potential donor is like. We also ask our donors to write a goodwill message, which is a personal message for any children born from the donation.
