Relocation of Care Fertility Chester

After 6 successful years of supporting patients within the Countess of Chester Hospital, Care Fertility Chester will be relocating our services to our new clinic within Daresbury Park, Warrington. The new clinic will be named Care Fertility Cheshire. We want to reassure our patients that there will be no noticeable disruption and that our priority remains giving you your best chance of success throughout your treatment journey.

We look forward to continuing to offer exceptional patient experience at our upgraded facilities, to those in the Cheshire, Merseyside and North West areas. Our experienced team will be available to support and guide patients throughout the transition. Our Cheshire clinic is a bespoke building where everything has been designed around patient needs. You will be able to access all the scientific advancements offered by the Care Fertility Group within a modern and calming space. It is easy to access, just off junction 11 of the M56 with free parking on-site.

Self-funded Patients

An end-to-end patient journey, including all consultations, scans and procedures will be readily available to self-funded patients at the Care Cheshire site from July 2023, with no change to how you can access services. Please contact Care’s General Enquiry Management Team on 0800 564 2270 to arrange your consultation or free 1-2-1 visit with our patient services team to view our facilities and learn more about treatment at Care Cheshire.

NHS funded Patients

The Countess of Chester NHS FT Trust have given notice to Cheshire & Merseyside ICB to decommission NHS fertility services at the Countess of Chester Hospital. We are working with Cheshire and Merseyside ICB to ensure continuity of care for patients under an NHS funding pathway. We will update patients as this pathway is agreed and we look to be able to continue providing treatment to those eligible for NHS funding at Care Cheshire.

Patients Currently In-Treatment

For self-funded patients currently being seen at the Countess of Chester Hospital we will discuss with you how your care will be affected and make a plan with you, which may include transfer of your treatment to Care Cheshire. For NHS funded patients, your treatment will continue at the Countess of Chester Hospital at least until September 2023.

Patients with Frozen Embryos and/or Gametes

Any embryos and/or gametes stored at the Countess of Chester Hospital will be required to be transported to an alternative HFEA licensed centre by the 30th September 2023 as the site will no longer be licensed by the HFEA. For self-funded patients and those who have used all of their NHS funding, this will be to Care Fertility Cheshire, unless you request otherwise. We will contact you to make these arrangements and you will not incur any charges relating to this. For NHS funded patients who are entitled to further frozen embryo transfer cycles, we will liaise with Cheshire and Merseyside ICB to ensure appropriate arrangements are in place.
