Saw consultant today which was a locum as mine has retired, he was lovely and had actually read my notes!! Managed to do a stretch and sweep today as cervix soft - yay. But if no joy before then I am booked in for induction at 8am Monday morning. Had another scan and baby current estimated weight of 7lb 6oz but he said that can vary from 1lb either way. Its very active at the moment and kept kicking and punching the scan thingy away.

Hi Seabreeze,

I hope you don't mind me posting here. Did you have immune tests at care? I am looking into having them before my next cycle. Did you have all of them?

I have posted in a new thread in the immun section, if you have any advice.

Hi Ladies, I'm delighted (and a little overwhelmed) to say that our little girl Elvie Louise arrived at 8.18pm on Tuesday 27th March, weighing 7lb 14oz. Went in to be induced at 8am on Monday after first pessary I was getting regular contractions and they pretty much decided I wouldn't need a 2nd but on examination my cervis was still posterior and they couldn't break my waters. So another one popped in, then a 3rd Tuesday morning and a 4th stick of dynamite at 3pm Tuesday. If that didn't do the trick we knew it would be a section the next day and I was fine with that. Well at 5pm I cam off the monitoring and went for a walk, felt a pop and OMG the contractions came fast and strong, every 30 seconds and lasting 1min 30 seconds. Managed to get back to ward (basically Jim carried me) but they said it was very early on gave me some paracetomal and popped me in the bath and left us to it. After 30 mins in bath I was demanding better pain relief but was being dismissed that things wouldn't move that quickly and I should try to hold out. At about 6.30pm they finally gave me gas & air which did nothing. Another 30 mins later and I had the most immense pressure and my body started to push, Jim rang the alarm bell and they got me out the bath, which was apparently now very red (I didn't notice). Got to delivery room, took off bikini bottoms and all sorts of stuff came flying out and I just had to push again, the pain was intense and when I shouted for pain relief they said they could already see head so it was too late. Her HB was rapidly dropping and she was born after 45mins. Unfortunatley the placenta wouldn't deliver so I got taken down to surgery, luckily I elected for a GA as I then haemorraged just under 2 litres of blood, spiked a very high temp and had to have my uterus manually contracted. I came to at about 1am and was violently sick. Poor Jim was literally left on his own for 3+ hours. Elvie is fab, I'm totally overwhelmed and emotional. We've struggled to BF, so had been EBF and topping up with formula, but decided today to just do the formula. It was a hard decision but I need to get my strength back and I've found EBF just as exhausting. Jim has totally taken over and is wonderful, if Elvie cries I get so upset. I feel totally out of my depth with the feeding but we've decided to let her dictate to us for now when she wants feeding rather than sticking to a rigid routine of 3 hours between feeds, I hope that is ok. So now I just have to get my boobs to calm down as my milk has come in already, so I've only expressed once since 5am and only a small amount to take the edge off. My stomach is so sore to from pummeling to get the uterus to contract as well and I have 2nd degree tear both ways :( BUT it is so worth it, just can't wait for the hormones to settle and my confidence to build so I can enjoy this time. xx

MrsG CONGRATULATIONS! I am so pleased for you. You have had us on edge all week waiting for your news.

You sound like you have really been through the mill but as you say it is worth every minute. Please don't worry about the feeding, you are doing a great job and feeding on demand is perfectly fine you have to do whatever suits you and your baby. The first few weeks are so hard when you are trying to get to grips with everything and your hormones are all over the place but it will all settle down and will become easier i promise.

Elvie is a gorgeous name i bet you are so proud. Enjoy your beautiful baby and i hope you are feeling less sore very soon.

Well done MrsG you did it, your a mummy!!
