Further information

10 external candidates.

10 internal Care Fertility candidates.

The course will cost £850 per external candidate.

Much of the assessment is completed via logbook, and the VIVA is the use of transvaginal scanning. However, candidates must have access to both transvaginal and transabdominal options for scanning, to complete the practical portfolio portion of the assessment.

External candidates:

Candidates must work in an ultrasound setting, with both transvaginal and transabdominal options for scanning available, as they will need to complete a practical portfolio in their own clinic for submission - practical sessions will not be offered by Care Fertility.

Internal candidates:

For internal candidates that are already located at a Care Fertility clinic, they should ensure the following:
That the individual unit should provide access to a regular pelvic ultrasound service.

The centre should have an adequate clinical workload to ensure the trainee can undertake at least one training scan list per week both supervised and unsupervised.

The centre should be able to have both transvaginal and transabdominal options for scanning available although the trainee is aware much of the assessment is completed via logbook, and VIVA is the use of transvaginal scanning

The trainer must be either be a BFS ultrasound trainer or MSC level qualified. If the training centre does not have this available, then please discuss with the course leads to discuss training lists being observed at Care Fertility Leeds.
