Rahnuma Kazem, FRCOG, Medical Director

Rahnuma Kazem is the Medical Director at CARE Northampton. She joined CARE Fertility as Medical Director in 2005, and holds a keen interest in all aspects of IVF and infertility.  She has over 25 years’ experience within the field of IVF, and together with her team she has worked tirelessly to maintain the consistently outstanding results achieved at CARE Northampton valuing as some of the best in the UK.

 

Career and Training

Rahnuma graduated (MBBS) with honours in 1985. She completed her full training in general Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Infertility. She worked in the Assisted Conception Unit at Aberdeen and received her Doctorate of Medicine in 1995 from Aberdeen University before undertaking Subspecialist Training in Reproductive Medicine in Edinburgh (1996-1998). She worked for six years as a consultant in the Nottingham University Research and Treatment Unit in Reproduction (NURTURE), before joining CARE. 

 

Research

Rahnuma conducted research into egg freezing and donation as part of her MD Thesis at the University of Aberdeen in 1995. She has published several papers, and presented at national and international meetings, in infertility and assisted reproduction.

 

Specialities

Dr Kazem has extensive experience and expertise in the management of male and female infertility, including  treatment of older patients, reduced ovarian reserve, endocrine disorders, recurrent implantation failure and all other aspects of infertility.

She also has extensive experience in the management of patients requiring donor eggs, donor sperm or surrogacy. She leads the Donation team at CARE Northampton.
