Lorraine and Biagio’s story
“Thank you all for making our dreams come true"
Lorraine and Biagio were referred to our Care Bath team by their GP after the couple had been trying to conceive for four years. Lorraine already had two children and both her and Biagio’s tests came back as normal, so the couple couldn’t understand why she wasn’t getting pregnant. She was diagnosed with unexplained secondary infertility.
Most women assume that conception will be similar the second or third time around. “I had given up on ever thinking Biagio and I would have our own biological child,” says Lorraine. The couple were surprised how quickly the process went from being referred by their GP to sitting in Mr Walker’s office for their first consultation. From the moment they walked into the centre, they felt very welcomed by the staff. “Everyone was extremely friendly, treatments and procedures were very well explained from the start” says Biagio.
In cases of unexplained infertility, the 50:50 IVF ICSI spilt route is offered if the problem might be a fertilisation issue – this was also recommended to Lorraine and Biagio by Mr Walker. Lorraine started treatment and successfully fell pregnant on her first cycle, and baby Zachary was welcomed into the world weighing 7lb 12oz.
“We now have a beautiful baby boy and that’s all thanks to you wonderful people. Thank you all for making our dreams come true. We couldn’t be happier and our family now feels complete”.
We are so delighted that our Bath team were able to help this wonderful couple! Congratulations to Lorraine, Biagio, and Zachary. Welcome to our Care family!
