Understanding results

Choosing the right clinic is an important decision for you to make. One of your key considerations is likely to be the clinic's IVF success rates.

We understand that the results tables and statements made by clinics can be confusing particularly if you are just setting out on your IVF journey so we try to make our results easy to understand. We have also written a page here explaining how success rates can be interpreted.

It is important to remember that the success rates have their limitations when used to compare your own experiences or personal choices. Various things can affect success rates, such as:

  • the type of patients treated at the clinic (their age, the cause of their infertility, how long they've been infertile)
  • the treatment that the clinic can provide
  • the clinic's treatment practices

Whilst some clinics may turn away patients with serious fertility problems because these patients may lower their success rates, the CARE team want to help everyone. And we still achieve consistently high results for our patients.

If you would like to discuss these figures, or need more of an explanation, please contact your nearest CARE clinic.
